Hello, lovely people! I’m Synapse. Welcome to my madhouse. Since you’ve been so kind as to join me here, I figure it’s only polite to give you a quick guide to the mayhem.
But firstly, to all of my followers, both new and old: thank you, thank you, thank you for following my humble little blog. I can’t express how much I appreciate your support. Thanks for putting up with the nonsense <3
Tags & Tagging Policies: My masterpost is HERE. This includes my spoiler policies.
Queue: The vast majority of my reblogs are queued. The queue is virtually always full and runs 24/7.
Content: It’s a bit of a junk drawer, really. Here you’ll find posts from my current main fandoms, writing, fanfic, various LGBTQ+/queer things, anything I find funny or cute, and a variety of other assorted fandoms and topics. My main fandoms are currently Leverage, far too many audio dramas, DC’s Batfamily, The Locked Tomb books, The Murderbot Diaries books, Discworld, Hades from Supergiant Games, Fullmetal Alchemist (primarily Brotherhood), and the Spiderverse films. (Check the tag masterpost's "Fandoms" section for more.)
I avoid posting about current events, though they may show up occasionally. It’s not that I don’t care--it’s that I care too much, and I try to protect my mental health. Fandom is my escape.
I typically write metas, reaction posts, and fanfic. Those are usually posted as soon as they’re written. Outside of that, much of my content is queued reblogs. I do not tag queued posts. My queue normally runs somewhere between ten and twenty posts a day, although it may run higher or lower at times.
You can explore my Ao3 fanfic here.
I am very burned out as of the moment and have little energy for interacting with folks, so my replies may be slow and rare. I love talking to mutuals and online friends; it's just not something I can always handle right now. My apologies, and thanks for your patience.
NSFW Content Policy: I rarely post NSFW content. When I do, it is always appropriately tagged.
Generative A.I. Policy: I do not use generative AI, nor do I support its use. If I've reblogged something made with generative AI that is not labeled as such, it was unintentional, and I appreciate a heads-up. (I will occasionally reblog generative AI content if it is accompanied by explanations of how to recognize it, but it will always, always be labeled.)
This blog is a safe space for people of all genders, orientations, races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, backgrounds, countries, mental/physical abilities, e.t.c. Discrimination and bullying are not tolerated. I will be liberal with the block button if necessary. However, I'm not perfect, so I may miss something. Please politely let me know if something slips through or if the poster is a well-known exclusionist.
Where’d those cool pictures for your icon come from?: I’m glad you asked! Check out my list over here. The bird is a long-tailed tit.
Thank you for reading! Have some extra brownie points <3
"In my workshops, I often ask people of color, "how often have you given white people feedback on our unaware yet inevitable racism? How often has that gone well for you?" Eye-rolling, head-shaking, and outright laughter follow, along with the consensus of rarely, if ever.
I then ask, "what would it be like if you could simply give us feedback, have us graciously receive it, reflect, and work to change the behavior?" Recently, a man of color sighed and said "it would be revolutionary."
I ask my fellow whites to consider the profundity of that response. It would be revolutionary if we could receive, reflect and work to change the behavior. On the one hand, the man's response points to how difficult and fragile we are. But on the other hand, it indicates how simple it can be to take responsibility for our racism."

Not even Stockholm Syndrome is enough to get Ford to go back to an equilateral triangle Bill, not even one who can sing, do YOU look like the hot elf he drew in the journal, no so get good Cipher
Tumblr quite literally nominated him, got him in, then kept voting for him until semifinals, people are older, other people can be a tumblr Sexyman, it doesn’t need to be an 18 year old white guy with another eating disorder, it can be a conventionally attractive middle aged man with wet cat energy and an alien bestie now since the general population of Tumblr did in fact vote him in as a tumblr Sexyman
"Whether someone understands it or not, these are the consequences of the political views they're espousing" is a pretty important analysis tool for online movements because quite honestly, over half of everyone engaging in politics online have no foundations for the stuff they're saying and are just saying whatever makes them feel like a member of an in-group.
If your in-group is "the left" you're very much not immune to this. In fact, trying to do left-wing politics without even trying to build a foundational political understanding is a great way to end up as a neo-nazi with a tumblr accent rather than an effective left-wing advocate.
The backlash was a major lawsuit from 9 tribes alongside other lawsuits from advocacy groups like NDN Collective. You can support NDN Collective by donating to them here.
Many people are aware that copyright originated as and remains a protection for publishers, not authors.
However, there are longstanding rights intended to protect authors. These are legally called 'the moral rights of authors.' Good naming.
These rights include:
The right to attribution. To have your name on your work. Don't repost peoples work without attribution.
The right to use a pen name or to publish anonymously. Publishers should protect the privacy of authors. Service providers shouldn't require posters to provide ID.
The right to integrity. Editors should not cut up your work to make it say something you do not endorse.
So let's review:
❌ AI harms authors because it violates copyright.
✅ AI harms authors because it violates their rights to attribution and integrity.
