Flower update on the wall along the street. It has finally filled in to the level I had imagined. Descending order: pink echinacea (coneflower), pink aesclepia (milkweed), yellow solidago (goldenrod) sage maybe visible along the soil, red monarda (bee balm) with some blue clematis intertwined blue asters white phlox and some stargazer lilies ready to pop any minute. The leaves sticking in from the left are goji berry plant.
I grew most of these from seed. Some I didn’t plant at all they just showed up! It’s great: A free range garden is fine by me. That’s how I learned white strawberries are a thing. Yum.
I have enough to start deciding next fall and moving this amazing combo of colours to my street gardens to increase the local pollinator and urban wildlife numbers in my neighbourhood. So far this year I’ve seen at least 5 different types of bees and several wasp looking friends, two different butterflies, dragonflies, no see-um’s, moths (I just found out about hummingbird moths because a friend noticed one and said- “oh cool you have these!” I had no idea they existed.) Red breasted Robin eats my blueberries, chickadee babies having flying lessons yesterday, some other tiny birds that have no Fear™️ and actual hummingbirds drinking from everything except the feeders :)
