LET'S GO, RANDOM AU, LET'S GO
SO. This AU is called Astro Fury and it's possibly the most complex AU I've ever thought of.
The concept is simple: After the events of "Cookie Odyssey" and before "The Dream Express," in a sudden, unknowing twist, all Cookies associated with space, galaxies, and dreams suddenly turned monstrous and feral, causing an apocalypse-scale event. Pure Vanilla, the king of the still-healing Vanilla Kingdom, strives to rebuild the world as it once was, recruiting who was remaining onto his side in a desire to reverse change. But this change... it can't easily be reversed, and he'll deal with far more important matters to tend to, such as another apocalyptic event that could wipe out Cookiekind for good.
Main key points and warnings:
Pure Vanilla is technically the main protagonist of this AU. However, it's moreso we're jumping around POVs, so many other Cookies have a chance at getting a spotlight.
The Beasts have TOTALLY different lore than in canon. Rather than going insane for... seemingly unknown reasons, they instead were foretold of "an irreversible event in the far future" by the Witches and decided to either cope or try to stop the event in their own ways.
The St. Pastry Order are the main villains, with Doughael as the focus. Imagine the Doughael we got, but you're gonna see what I can only describe as "Theologenic horrors." I also wanted to lean into the whole idea of the cult being based on Christianity, but I want to specify that I'm not trying to shit on the religion. Hating on others based on religion is not cool period, alright kiddos?
The Stardust Sickness is also important to this AU. It's a non-contagious, incurable disease that can only be obtained by directly touching a startouched artifact (basically anything with a blue glow = startouched). It slowly turns the Cookie into a mass of galaxies and stars, making them become the same state as Cookies like Milky Way and Blueberry Pie became when the Astro Fury event happened.
That reminds me: This AU contains topics such as end-of-the-world themes, psychological horror, horror regarding topics of the Christian faith (while throwing no actual shade to people of said faith), death, traumatic experiences, insanity and its slow descent, suicide, and disease, even if it is a fictitious one. If you are uncomfortable with said topics, I suggest you don't interact with the AU as a whole.
Original Characters (OCs) will also be present within this AU, and in fact, some are important to the story the AU tries to tell. These OCs (except one, really) weren't made for this AU, and their lore had to have been modified. Should I ever talk about them, I will point out differences between their "canon" and within Astro Fury's context. This is meant to be a shameless note, but also a bit of a warning for anyone who may not like OCs in AUs. This is my AU, however; I can do whatever to my heart's content.
