ok sorry i blacked out from my sheer fucking genius anyways. anyways cas gets distracted by the baby so he forgets abt the pizza but then theres a knock at the door and he gets excited for a sec like DEAN <3 no thoughts head empty so he rushes to the door and its this BURLY pizza man and hes FUCKING PACKING and cas is smacked over the head with this vivid flashback of the porno from s6 and he realizes all in an instant that 1. hes gay 2. HES the babysitter. and of course hes human so hes in even less control of his body so he pops a boner and the pizza guy is like uhh i have a large italian sausage for you . then they BANG
how can you say that endverse dean and cas aren’t together. cas is literally wearing one of dean’s band shirts in the camp chitaqua photo
yall i thought it was impossible but i did it. i pinpointed the exact moment that dean figured out he was in love with cas
ok IT HAPPENS IN 11x11 INTO THE MYSTIC BUT BEFORE I GET TO THE EXACT MOMENT. context:
1. casifer hand-on-shoulder. intimate moment ALL the crueler because we know it’s a deception. also this comes right on the heels of dean admitting that he has “a connection” with amara—he is evaluating what “attraction” means because he is desperately hoping he is NOT attracted to god’s evil sister. this means he has to think about what attraction DOES mean to him.
2. dean gets targeted by the banshee (because he is vulnerable. yes he WILL obsessively analyze what the shit that means)
3. mildred can tell he’s “pining” and tells him to “follow his heart”
in this episode dean has confronted 1) “cas” out of his jacket and also touching him 2) the definition of attraction 3) the fact that he has been targeted on account of some kind of vulnerability 4) the fact that he is Very Obviously romantically pining for somebody (who we KNOW is not amara, based on writer input). dean is THINKING. man is RUMINATING. keep that in mind here comes the pinpoint
first off...laying in bed trying VERY hard to sleep. unable to sleep. he sits up.

and then for the final shot of the episode we get...slow zoom on his face...his staunch american man face....cut up and bruised and all alone in the darkness. he is VULNERABLE he is HAVING A MOMENT he is considering the fact that angels don’t have the equipment to care and that whenever they try they break apart.
please let me stress how absolutely long and devoid of any other focus this scene is. we are watching his epiphany and his reaction to WHAT? to what he has been percolating on all day. someone pointing out how heartsick he is (NOT for amara) the way he feels around amara (NOT attraction) so what is his epiphany? what is he so conflicted over? he’s figured it out. connections attraction pining following his heart. the way he feels around cas. the way he feels about cas. he can’t follow his FUCKING heart

handprints and hearts and different types of love and love and obsessive love vs familial love vs romantic love... s11 was wild overall.
the most ridiculous thing about the banshee targeting Dean was the mistake that they were expecting it to target someone with a physically weak or damaged heart, which was why they were standing guard over Mildred in the first place. But she’d spent her life following her heart, living her own happiness by her own choice, and her metaphorical heart was full and healthy and alive as a result. But the banshee targeted those with “broken hearts,” who had suffered “heartbreak” in the romantic love sense of the word. And of everyone in that room, it singled out Dean. This creature with a handprint on its shoulder in an earlier shot of it, sensed Dean’s heartbreak and drove him to bash his own head in over it.
Just... we got so much bs for even daring to suggest that this was what was happening on screen and yet... the only possible explanation for all of it is destiel so...
(lol also remember “wrong shoulder who dis,” because all the hands-on-shoulders imagery in this episode was “wrong shoulder” touches, and Dean was the only one worried that Cas seemed “off” in this episode... something he couldn’t quite put a finger on, and the heartbreak that “Cas” was apparently glad for his weird and disturbing connection with Amara because they could use that to their advantage to find her when they were ready to kill her. How disappointing for Dean to be pouring out his personal fears to “Cas” and only get “oh good, this means you’ll make perfect bait!” in reply. Of course he’s afraid Cas can never love him back.
(though I remain convinced that Dean knew he was in love with Cas long before this... this was just the latest moment that revelation escaped the dark and deeply buried box he keeps it locked up in most of the time, and reared up and whacked him over the head yet again)
