See I don't necessarily think people will balk at post-canon domestic destiel House crossover casefic but the case is on the House side of the equation. However. Anyway I don't need to justify myself to anyone. In my post-canon freak4freak Destiel House MD casefic the poisoning revelation rather than being the conclusion is the mid-episode red herring. Deanna vehemently denies poisoning her husband and is deeply offended by the accusation but when this is revealed to Cas he says "Oh do you think that's the problem? 🤔 Usually when she poisons me I am only sick for a few days..." Because he knows that Deanna poisons him sometimes when she gets anxious about him leaving and he enjoys it because it means she dotes on him for a few days and it reminds him how much she loves him. Deanna is deeply touched to learn this and everyone is increasingly concerned about their relationship except for House who started the episode trying to prove they don't really love each other and now thinks that they're made for each other.

The real cause of Cas' mysterious illness is something the doctors overlooked because if he was fully human it would have killed him already, but since he still has his weakened grace so he's just dying a little bit as it struggles to compensate.

Obviously a large part of the appeal to me is the large cast of characters to give outsider POV opinions to and the benefit of using the House MD cast for this is that they are all massive dicks. Everyone has an opinion on the Destiel relationship and most of them are bad. House as I have mentioned starts out trying to prove they can't possibly be as in love as they seem, this is in part because Wilson keeps insisting that they have a nice thing going and can't we just believe that people love each other? They actually make him kind of uncomfortable but he doesn't want to say that. Then House switches sides because "They're both insane, in perfectly matching ways, and they found each other. Which keeps them from inflicting their wackadoo on the rest of us. It almost makes you believe in soulmates." And Wilson is like "Stop agreeing with me" but he can't switch sides now without looking like a hypocrite.

The rest of the cast ends up primarily split between "Castiel is abusing Deanna" and "Deanna is abusing Castiel" with varying shades of bigotry colouring their opinions. However I don't actually know enough about the cast of House to categorize them off the top of my head.

The other House and Wilson running thread is that House finds out that Cas and Deanna were best friends for a decade before she transitioned and keeps making comments about how Wilson would look good in a dress and if he's ever considered cosmetic surgery. When Wilson finally points out that transitioning wouldn't make him suddenly interested in men House says "Well I can't be the woman, then we'd just get a divorce. I refuse to be the next ex-mrs. Wilson."

The other appeal to me is putting Deanna "when human beings want something real bad, we lie." Winchester in a room with Gregory "Everybody lies" House. She is lying about everything. She is lying about things that aren't relevant and things that are. She is lying about things you couldn't even dream of. She is refusing to let house search her purse when he accuses her of poisoning her husband not because she has poison on her (she wouldn't keep poisoning him when he's already in the hospital she hates being in the hospital and wouldn't do anything to prolong his stay) but because she brought her emotional support gun. Someone tells her lying won't help her husband and she looks like she's going to gnaw her leg off to escape.

sam has abysmal gaydar but is convinced his gaydar is great because he knew the blue haired girl working at his campus cafe at stanford was a lesbian so hes like i know these things. deans gaydar is functional but it only works if the person in question is a man flirting with him. jack has powers where he can probably tell if someones gay but he hasnt fully mastered said powers and is also mostly just trying to not kill people with them. castiel has powers that allow him to tell if someone is gay and he uses it every time he looks at someone which is why hes the only angel who stares at people for uncomfortable amounts of time (the reason he does this to dean so often is he has to occasionally check to make sure dean is still gay). naomi has a pretty good gaydar when shes figuring out who to schedule for a lobotomy. rowena has spent years perfecting gaydar so she can find men out of crowleys league and say ach fairgus why cant ye get with a nice strapping lad like that and he stews in anger. mary winchester has the best gaydar on the planet and can clock it in half a second but only after she was resurrected. amara gave her that power for fun.
