AI fics/stories
wattpad's reddit won't let me complain about it, so i'm going to on here.
i feel like every other story i click on on wattpad is just pure, shameless AI with the author claiming an original story. i HATE it. unlike AO3, where i can mute writers and subsequently hide their stories from search, i can't mute writers on wattpad, so people who mass-produce and mass-post AI fics completely saturate all of the tagging results on a tag search!! before someone tells me to switch over to AO3; i am an AVID AO3 user, it's just that for OC stories wattpad usually takes the cake. AO3 is much better for character x character, and OC stories are usually people skipping the quotev stage and going straight to AO3, and i don't get the pretty visuals i usually do from wattpad books. also, i've seen people on tiktok talking about AI AO3 fics. it might just be the fandoms/ships i read, i've only found 2??? wattpad is way worse and no one is talking about it. i hate this so much. wattpad, please fix this. make a toggle switch like for the mature content so that i can filter it out. P.S. to spot AI fics look for:
unclosed em dashes "—";
a very slow/tasteless development of plot;
most of the time there's also no author's notes on AI fics
check the chapter posting dates. chapters are rarely posted daily unless the writer explicitly states that they pre-wrote it, and are NEVER all posted on the same day.
AI stories also lack the spelling/grammar/structure mistakes that human writers make ^-^
