absolutely flabbergasting to see people who have so enthusiastically succumbed to despair. like okay denethor, but some of us are gonna actually face the armies of mordor in battle nonetheless.

The thing about Denethor is that he not only succumbed to despair, he wanted to ensure that Faramir succumbed with him. Similarly, a lot of people now are not only succumbing to despair, they're actively proselytizing despair, trying to convince others to join them in their hopelessness. Despair is apparently lonely and they want company in their self-immolation.

Holiday Traditions

This is probably the first time in over a year I got some mental downtime. I'm just letting myself do very little, though I think I have a job app to submit in a few days. I shouldn't even have bothered cooking really, just let myself eat something pre-made and had wine. I may add Tokyo Godfathers to the 'traditional Christmas viewing' though since I think it touches on the actual parts of the holiday season we should be thinking about.

The only adhd tips that actually work:

1. Never tell anyone what you're planning to do until you do it (you will get a premature dopamine hit and sense of accomplishment from telling them and lose motivation to actually do it)

A throwback and build up to the present day, to which I have finished painting the part five poster. This has been four years in the making…mainly due to the fact that I needed the inspiration to hit. Although I don’t draw as much Jojo as I used to, I still love the series dearly. And research for these posters has been a lot of childhood nostalgia from old gothic novels to Drew Struzan styles movie posters.

And so for part 6 it will likely take me a long time lol…who knows. But it’ll be a lot of fun to paint!

one thing that my therapist told me today is a way to combat hopelessness is to make an intentional plan to do something that brings you joy and excitement. Even if it's something really small like going to get your favorite coffee. Try to be kind to yourself, do something nice for yourself today, give yourself something that brings you even a small amount of joy. You deserve it
