Intro Post

Hi! So I decided to do an intro post cause I saw a bunch of people doing it and honestly why not.

I’m fine with being addressed as literally anything if you find my username too long lmao but I’d rather my pronouns (She/Her) are used.

I’m a total introvert and a serial procrastinator so don’t be surprised if my posting schedule is crazy irregular.

This blog is literally just random stuff about anything and everything that interests me all meshed together. I can be very organised when I want to be but without the motivation I am a total slob.

I thrive on interaction. I like to know people like the things I draw or write, and it gives me a lot of motivation to continue, even if it’s just a small amount of people. So please leave a comment or a like if you liked my posts :)

I also just changed my username it was previously “misery-needs-a-martini” but certain ppl I know found me on here which is a big no.

Fandoms

I am in a lot of fandoms so it’s honestly too much to list them all. For context, I have read a lot of book series and watched a lot of animes, so I’ll just write some of my past and present major hyperfixations here:

- Hazbin Hotel (I haven’t watched Helluva Boss but I swear I will when I have more time)

- The Magnus Archives (I’m at Season 4)

- Jujutsu Kaisen

- Bungou Stray Dogs

- The Apothecary Diaries

Interests

- Fanfiction: I absolutely love fanfiction and honesty consume it at an unhealthy pace for my above mentioned hyperfixations. I’ve written some before but I’m too insecure about my writing to post it.

- I had and maybe still do have quite a huge anatomy phase. I like drawing anatomical drawings and have drawn quite a few in the past

- I absolutely love random facts about literally anything. Rant to me, just infodump, anything and if it’s interesting and not common knowledge I will love it

- I like sketching, however, I also have aphantasia. It’s hard for me to picture exact details and pictures in my mind making art quite tough for me. I generally use reference pics but my art, especially in things I’m not familiar with drawing (e.g people) and they might come off quite wonky.

Random Facts

- I have a dog I absolutely love my dog like crazy even though I’ve always thought I was a cat person and still love cats

- I am asexual (specifically aegosexual) and probably demiromantic but I’m still on the fence about that.

- I don’t have a lot of friends IRL, however, I love talking to people especially about things I’m interested in. Literally if you’re bored, have nothing better to do, or whatever just message me and I’ll be super happy to talk to you, though I can’t promise I’ll always be online

- I read anything that’s fictional but I have a particular love for coming of age books and historical fiction. I have never interacted with horror as a genre before the Magnus archives. If you have recommendations please do tell

- I have never gotten any formal training in art I just do it as a passion. In fact, my stream in school is science.

- I don’t listen to a lot of music. I know it’s super uncommon and I’ve gotten a lot of judgement for it but I have a low threshold for auditory stimuli. When I do listen to music it’s usually calm or soothing music.

- English is not my first language, so if I ever make any grammatical/spelling mistakes feel free to let me know politely.

Things I hate

- Any sort of discrimination. Literally anything. Misogyny? Homophobia? Racism? Nope, nope and nope

- People being rude for no reason. If I’ve said or done anything to offend you I most likely didn’t mean it and you can tell me politely

First he tries to hack off his finger

Then that doesn’t work and he literally goes to Helen to get to Jared to remove a rib??!!? Does this even classify as one stupid thing or a long series of stupid things in quick succession??? I don’t even know

(Melanie, my darling, my dearest, why in the world are you perpetuating this behaviour. I’m sorry but you should have said you had no idea who Jared is and refused to tell him anything like you would do with a particularly stupid child)

And not only does he remove a rib, but he removes another one for something as stupid as a statement from someone who literally wants to kill him. And before removing it he asks if it’s gonna hurt. What the fuck Jonathan 🤦‍♀️

AND THEN HE MAKES THE WONDERFUL DECISION TO HEAD OFF INTO THE BURIED WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE WITH NO BACKUP TORCHES, NO WATER, NO FOOD, AND NO GUARANTEED WAY OF GETTING OUT.

I’m sorry but I can’t defend this it’s literally on him. You’re getting crushed in The Buried and it’s all your fault you stupid idiot.

Why is everyone hating on Jon? Literally my guy did nothing wrong??? I mean sure he was paranoid but he was just attacked by evil worm lady who said multiple times that she was attacking him because of his position. He constantly feels like he’s being watched and he doesn’t know why and he just found his predecessor’s corpse rotting in the tunnels under his workplace when he was led to believe she died a normal death. The stalking was a bit much but like who wouldn’t be paranoid at that point.

He gets kidnapped and no one notices for like a month and when he comes back he’s repeatedly hit with “well you don’t know what we’ve been through you weren’t here” by his coworkers. And he finds out their boss is some all knowing murderous evil entity who’s literally grooming him to become some supernatural being and has trapped them all there and everyone just blames him for “not doing anything”??? While he literally tries to save the world? Like actually how is it his fault, what exactly is he supposed to do?

And he wakes up from a coma after going on a suicide mission to save the world and suddenly he’s blamed for his coworkers dying in the suicide mission while he “lived” barely and literally no one is glad to see him alive cause he’s “not human”. The one person who cared about him is avoiding him, he’s almost violently attacked by a coworker several times and at most Basira is cordial towards him.

And nobody trusts him cause he got some powers against his will which he can’t control, and that he has not used against anyone, but still actually turn out to be quite useful. He’s literally not even the only one influenced I mean Daisy went literally mad with the hunt, Martin’s in the lonely and Melanie is slowly turning towards the slaughter yet Jon’s the only one getting boycotted for it?!!!

Not to mention this whole thing was literally orchestrated by Elias but Jon’s the one taking the blame??

I’m surprised the lonely hasn’t gotten him by this point I mean I know he’s already taken by the eye but come on the social isolation this guy is going through is just insane I wanna wrap him in a blanket and put the admiral on his face.

A beautiful weather phenomenon I saw over my school a few days ago. It’s aptly named as a sun halo which occurs when a ring of light refracts off of ice crystals in a thin veil of cirrus clouds creating a circular rainbow around the sun. It’s truly stunning to witness.

Episode 106, A Matter of Perspective. The whiplash in this series never ceases to amaze. One moment we hear this spooky ass story about beings beyond our comprehension, then we're hearing Melanie and Basira gossip about their coworkers, and then straight on to Elias blasting Melanie with his mind beams

I can’t help but notice that Martin is the only one of the archival crew who actually follows Jon’s pre-statement order of introduction. It’s probably because he doesn’t know much about researcher positions cause of being unqualified and lying in his resume so he’s taking Jon as the correct example of what to do.

BUT it’s equally possible that he just listened to a bunch of statements while he was living in the archives just giggling and kicking his feet like a teenage girl because he was hearing Jon’s voice and he starts like that to impress him
