Hello!
I'm Rain and I'm an eclectic pagan witch who practices demonolatry. I'm 24, nonbinary and aroace, and use any pronouns. Capricorn Sun, Libra Moon, Cancer Rising.
Kitchen magic!
WHAT IS KITCHEN MAGIC?
Kitchen magic is the act of sharing the natural magic of the Earth and home, serving everything with care and intention. Kitchen magic is an extremely Earth-centered/based magical practice; as the author of The Kitchen Witch Handbook (Aurora Kane) puts it, kitchen magic is “...a way to care for our planet as it cares for us.”
With that being said, I wanted to take the time to point out that all foods have magical properties; and it is always a good idea to prepare food with respect and/or honor; as what you put in is what you’ll get out!
Now, I’ve been considering myself a Kitchen Witch for a little while at this point, so what I’m about to say in this next section is entirely optional and all of my own opinions. You do not need fancy tools to be a kitchen witch/do kitchen witchcraft! If you’ve got a pot, a pan, a spoon, and maybe an oven/stove top/microwave, and food that needs cooking—you’re good to go!
Though if you have any of the following, or know where to get these for CHEAP; please reblog this with what you have/where you can get these things!
TOOLS FOR KITCHEN MAGIC:
Truth be told, the most fundamental tools any kitchen witch should be at least somewhat familiar with are the four elements.
These elements are what gave us food in the first place, and they are what is going to help us make something delicious!
Here is a list of frilly tools that I think could be a fun addition to your craft:
Apron(s); these can be considered your ritual clothing!
Besom; this can aid you in cleaning your space, and sweep away negativity!
Cauldron; this can be your most favorite pot—preferably something big enough to make a good stew, though any size will do.
Chalice; this can be your most favorite cup in your whole house! It does NOT need to be anything elaborate!
Cookbooks/journals; can act like your grimoire/book of shadows!
Fork, Knife, and Spoon; very essential for some meals to eat with these!
Mortar and Pestle; for grinding up things and stuff
Tea Kettle; when you’re super tired after a long day and all you want is ramen but you don’t want to wait for the water to boil, use a tea kettle.
I really hope that this helps someone out there!! If you have any questions please let me know! I'd love to answer them!!
Have a great day!!
If you’re not amazed by the stars on a clear night then we won’t work.
I think a lot of people spent their childhoods being very deliberately forced out of their comfort zones by parents / teachers / whomever in a way that was just deeply unpleasant and degrading and so, when they reach young adulthood and are finally allowed real control over their lives, become set on only doing things they know they're comfortable with forever. that's a really important thing to be able to do, especially if you're so used to having your boundaries routinely ignored that you aren't even certain what you like vs what you can bear, so I absolutely see why a person would have a negative reaction to being told that discomfort is good: it can very easily sound like being told that all that work they've been doing to prioritze their needs for the first time ever is Bad and Selfish, actually. and to that I will say two things:
one: as long as you aren't hurting or, like, being a dick to anyone, just staying in your comfort zone isn't an immoral action. if you just want to read one type of book (or just fanfiction), or just eat one type of food, or just watch one type of movie, or not go to new types of social events, you aren't being a bad person for that, and if people say that, they are soundly wrong and just trying to get a self-righteousness kick.
two: trying new things because you want to expand yourself feels a hell of a lot different than trying new things because you're being forced to. you'll feel better about trying new foods if you know you have a back up familiar one in case you can't stomach the new one, it's easier to read new books if you can experiment with audio versions or reading it in little five-page chunks by yourself, you can breathe a lot easier going somewhere new if you aren't chained there for three hours because your parent is your ride home, etc.
tl;dr: new things are good. I get why you might not want to try new things, and that's fine, but it's also more comfortable to try new things as an adult with your own agency so, yeah, what have you got to lose by trying a weird old art film?
It's really important to recognize that the negative reaction you might have to being forced into something new might make your reaction much worse than if you had the no-pressure option to explore it on your own. I always try new foods when no one is around, or only some few close friends I trust on that level, because I feel judged for being a picky eater - even if people aren't *actually* judging me, I feel judged anyways and the pressure makes the whole experience unpleasant and I'm less likely to enjoy the food
It's also important to recognize that sometimes, newness, in and of itself, can trigger a disgust reaction. For this reason, when i'm genuinely trying some new food/drink, I take a small bite/sip or two to get over the initial "this is new and new is bad ew ew ew" reaction, and then take the next bite/sip to actually evaluate how I feel about the flavor/texture/etc. Even when i don't end up liking the food, this often takes a food I'd be super grossed out by and moves it closer to the "eh i simply don't like it" category.
I find it interesting that so much of satanism and luciferianism is about striving for greatness and pushing yourself when that is not my point in life.
I have always had so much pressure in myself and milestones that i feel i need to meet, a vague idea of potential i must drink up and fulfill.
And now and for a while I feel Lucifer is actively encouraging me to slow down and stop striving in this way - of course, that doesn't mean not striving for anything!!
But to strive for sustainability and gentleness and having a life that is perhaps not remarkable but simple satisfying to live and nice and fulfilling.
In a sort of epicurean sense - while i always wanted to study and be a teacher or an archivist and achieve so many things it simply would cause me so much pain and suffering and that is...not worth it?
Life is always right there. It is not holding up a list of things that you must reach before you can enjoy it, you can just eat a sandwich and be happy or look at the sky or learn things online and learn how your disability works and apply that.
While a goal and something to work at matters, and friendship and learning matters, i think it matters a lot more to love yourself and live deliciously and be your favourite person, and help people around you slowly enjoy their life more.
Nihilism and punitive striving is not very good is what I'm saying, life is good anyways and you don't need to be anything more than you are to be worthy.

"There is the divine masculine and the divine feminine"
Inanna: No
Nanaya: No
Hermaphroditos: No
Aphroditos: No
Dioynysos: No
I wrote this poem about Lucifer, Loki, and Satan. The idea is that sometimes in our practices we feel the need to run from things that we love. Divine love and fear can compliment each other, if you let them. Sometimes it's unavoidable, even when you feel silly sprinting away from someone you trust. Lucifer tells me not to "fly away" a lot, because you don't always have to take it on the heel to avoid something. May we always turn around when we realize and remember we have nothing to run from.
Trusting your demons
by Sho Gideon
Music is just a rhythm of the universe
This song has played many times
Footfalls on dark stone
Fleeing from something you wish to embrace.
Love and magic often meet in a place of fear
I used to think it would numb the perfect trust
But as the fear hits my blood, I know they are bed mates.
The hands that grasp me from the darkness aren’t of a stranger
They just feel different,
Their palms rough from the many times
They picked me up again and again.
I used to believe they all belonged to one.
One set of hands of the man I love,
The one who chases me in the darkness.
I know now, they belong to
Each person who loved me
Enough to touch me gently.
Love isn’t a road that goes one way,
Into marriage and babies, commitment and promise.
It’s a painting made by many brushes,
Each stroke a new expression
Until you don’t know what it was supposed to be
To begin with
You only know it’s beautiful
In what it has become.

Yeah understandable me too
text: [ “Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5000 years.” ]
And they're absolutely specifically pushing it, make no mistake. It's not just a matter of "it's there, it's convenient, so people are going to take the path of the least resistance", but it is a legitimate and concerted effort on the part of these companies to get people to outsource all these things to their models.
They're preying on insecurities to do it. Yes, you can write an essay - but can you write a good essay, they ask you. Do you not want to improve your output? Do you not want people to think of you as competent and very clever? Why go through the mortifying process of failing and failing and failing until you succeed if you can just skip the "learning" part of doing, and simply generate a ready-made product?
I'm preaching to the choir here obviously but it's a concerning thing to witness nonetheless. My kid is 6 next week and I've been teaching her that failing at things is morally neutral and in fact necessary even before the advent of AI, but it's becoming ever more important that we teach the kids that criticism and failure and discomfort aren't necessarily bad things, but just a part of the growth process.

Spiritual Hygiene and Self Care can and should be intrinsically connected, by the way!
Spiritual hygiene culture revolves around making sure you're clean and washed in some manner before interacting with your gods.
This should hopefully be something you automatically do if you're Hellenic Polytheist or Kemetic or Shinto Practitioner regardless?
It's okay to live for your gods.
You didn't just "Wash your face", you took water (and sometimes soap) and you cleansed your mind of the weight of the day's energy.
You didn't just "wash your hair". You cleansed the negative and heavy malignant energies from your hair (if you have hair). Or washing your head in general is cleansing the spirit and your thoughts.
Washing your hands is mindfully making your touch clear and pure of any unclean and tainted energies you naturally picked up on while doing daily work.
Your nails being clean is the same principle.
Same with washing your feet.
Clean clothes is important for your gods. They want you in clean clothes so you are "presentable" to them in sacred space.
Your gods love you regardless. And you are cared for regardless. But there is spiritual sacredness in being mindful of "cleanliness".
No running water? Braid your hair. Brush your skin down. Use oils where you can. Doing things to "freshen" your own body also translates to your spirit and how you mindfully conduct yourself around sacredness.
It's okay to do these things because of your gods. And it's okay to do them in ways you have access to.
But if you can, still take care of yourself how you are able to.
your okay to doubt your practice. your okay to overthink your practice. your okay to stress over your practice. but you know what? your safe and the gods dont hate you.
So often I worry about getting things wrong.
But I realized something a long time ago: there really isn’t one “right” way to do this.
Yes, closed practices exist and should be respected. Yes, some traditions are culturally specific. Yes, there are methods, rituals, tools, and approaches that people may find more effective than others.
But outside of that?
Your practice does not have to look exactly like someone else’s to be real.
I know you might feel lost sometimes, especially if your path is mostly reconstructed, self-led, intuitive, or built from scattered pieces you had to gather yourself. But that does not make it less meaningful. In a way, that is part of the beauty of it.
You are forging your own relationship with your deities, spirits, ancestors, land, or whatever sacred presence calls to you. You are learning the language of your own devotion. You are building something honest.
And I know it can feel lonely. I know it can feel discouraging. I know it can feel like everyone else has some ancient handbook you never got handed.
But I promise, you are not alone.
There is someone out there whose beliefs may not be exactly the same as yours, but close enough that your soul will recognize the warmth. Your people exist. Your path exists. Your practice is valid.
You do not need anyone else to approve of the sacred relationship you are building.
What you need is the courage to take the next step.
So go ahead.
It’s right there. 🌙
Are YOU gonna let THE GOVERNMENT tell YOU what YOUR GENDER is? That doesn't sound like Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness to me! PROTECT your individual FREEDOMS and call your senator: we want the GOVERNMENT to stay OUT OF OUR PANTS! GENDER FREEDOM NOW!
Two men in your neighborhood are married... to EACH OTHER? Congratulate them for exercising their AMERICAN RIGHT to follow the footsteps of our FOUNDING FATHERS! They've got a fully AMERICAN spirit of FREEDOM and REBELLION! GOD BLESS THE USA.
Your coworker has a different RELIGION from yours? Well, that's just INTERESTING and you should talk about it on your UNION-APPROVED LUNCH BREAK. The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA was FOUNDED on Freedom of Religion and ANYONE should be allowed to seek the AMERICAN DREAM!
You think someone might be in this GREAT country ILLEGALLY? NO YOU DON'T! No one is in this country illegally! The minute anyone steps on our SOVEREIGN SOIL they're your FELLOW AMERICAN and where they come from is NO ONES BUSINESS.

It's very easy to say that magic doesn't exist, but ultimately computers work by channeling lightning through a series of crystals, so who's really to say.
