I hate Michael Bay so much for what he did to the Transformers Franchise. He took a story that covers so many themes like war, grief, body autonomy, love, morality and ethics (and so much more, you can explore so many themes and ideas when the characters are robots that can live almost forever if not killed, that destroyed their own planet and almost brought their species to extinction) and turned it into "Robots punch robots, hahaha, sexual and sexist jokes, avarege male MC gets the cool sexy girl (that doesn't have a real personality, she is her just to be sexualised🥰), *explosion*, let them have sex on AN ALIEN, hahaha, here, take this other vulgar joke, obviously the alien robot is the one that makes it, *toxic masculinity*, what? plot? well written plot? *BOOM ANOTHER EXPLOSION*, the characters don't have a real personality, *humans*, *SUPER MEGA EXPLOSION*, the US military is cool, *alpha male energy*

protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later

And sometimes "narrative fulfillment" doesn't mean "the character overcomes their flaws" or even "the antihero is punished for their flaws"! sometimes it means the narrative says "wow was that fucked up or what? anyway i'm rod sterling"

The two of them are conjunx endurae.

Pyrexia - Cybertronian member of the Pentacular, operates their philosophy and political debate arm, a loner femme obsessed with history, theology, and lectures. Archivist by trade, motorcycle by form, she helped found the Pentacular movement because her early calculations saw Cybertron was predicted to run out of fuel. , Luminox - a born living part of a larger mechanical engine (often cities like Metroplex), the spark plug defected from the early demands of pseduo-religious functionism to spread a form-as-choice modality to the working class. Employed as a first responder, Luminox can illuminate many parts of his body by igniting gases within the glass tubing. Not ideal in a storm as a living spark plug. Furious crush on Pyrexia that he believes is unrequited because she's a cool headed thinker and he’s a boyish, passionate mech. They have always returned his feelings.
