I changed the shape of the skirt so it's more boring but plays nicer with the walking animation (the original has a train). No preg morph on this one.
📢 Note: like DeeDee's original (and like many 4t2 conversions out there, I've come to realize), this mesh has the duplicate hitbox issue. I only noticed after I was done converting. Neither DeeDee or I have the Blender skills to fix it right now. I leaned on @latmosims to fix it for me on a couple meshes in the past but I'm not comfortable pressuring him yet again so I'm publishing this dress as it is, just be aware and decide for yourself if it bothers you or not.

A cute pink treadmill/walking pad for my cats. Now, besides the spring toy, my girls have a new toy to play with :D.
This machine has two modes: Run and Walk with corresponding animations. The Fun bar will increase when the cats use it. You can manually cancel the action, or the cat will automatically stop when the Fun bar is full. Huge thanks to @jacky93sims for helping me fix this bug and for fixing the BHAV file for me <3~

Because neighbourhood effects were never designed to be seen in lot view, there are a few minor issues you should be aware of. I'll have to get into some technical details, so I'm leaving all the nerd stuff below the cut.

Issues
Maxis gimped the lot skirt's functionality when compared to the neighbourhood terrain and lot terrain. The most obvious example of this is the lot skirt looking like absolute ass, while the neighbourhood terrain has detailed cliffs etc. - both the neighbourhood terrain and lot terrain support multiple paint layers and alpha maps, whereas the lot skirt is just one, boring texture.
Unfortunately, these limitations cause some semi-annoying problems when forcing hood effects to show up in lot view.
Certain effects have bugged positioning
When you download the mod, you'll notice that along with the usual plugin, there's a config file included too. This config file is important, as it allows you to blacklist neighbourhood effects to prevent them showing up in lot view.
Why might you want to blacklist effects? Well, several effects appear to require something called an 'effect map' to be positioned correctly in the world (don't ask, I don't know what an effect map is either).
The neighbourhood terrain and lot terrain both have an effect map, but importantly, the lot skirt does not. This means that the effects that rely on an effect map for their positioning (mainly those that are placed on water) will appear way up in the sky when you load in to a lot:
If you want to know why they get placed in the sky, it's related to a peculiar bug(?) I discovered while trying to figure out why decal effects (e.g. farm fields and wild flowers) weren't appearing in lot view, even though I could clearly see the game creating and processing them in the debugger.
Basically, things like decals and shadows need to be assigned to an overlay manager which... manages overlays. For whatever reason, when you load a lot from the neighbourhood, rather than assigning these to the lot terrain or lot skirt overlay managers like the game logically should, it instead assigns them to the neighbourhood terrain overlay manager. The same thing happens with the effect maps - the neighbourhood effect map is used, not the lot terrain one.
The neighbourhood terrain coordinates aren't actually 1:1 with the lot skirt. The game generates the lot skirt below the neighbourhood terrain during the loading screen, and translates the position of each object downwards. Couple this with the neighbourhood effect map being used, and you get boats sailing around in the sky.
It isn't until you travel to a community lot or switch to another playable household while in lot view that the game starts using the relevant lot effect map and overlay managers. For example, if you load the Goth household from the Pleasantview neighbourhood screen, then click on the Pleasant's house to switch to them, boats will suddenly start sailing around in their garden as the lot terrain effect map is now in use:
I have no idea whether this quirk has any noticeable effect on gameplay, outside of when trying to get neighbourhood effects to appear in lot view. I've already patched the decals so they correctly get assigned to the lot skirt overlay manager when loading from the neighbourhood, but I'd be interested to know if there are any instances of lot effects not appearing until switching lots due to the incorrect effect map usage!
The config file is preconfigured to blacklist any problematic vanilla effects, so you don't need to worry about adding these yourself - it's mainly there in case you run into any custom hood effects with bugged positioning that you'd want to prevent appearing in lot view.
Decals appear on top of roads
Decal effects will draw over roads in lot view, instead of drawing underneath them like in hood view, as they should do. I can't say for certain why this happens, but I'm pretty sure it's due to differences between the neighbourhood road materials and the lot skirt ones.
If we patch the code that creates the lot skirt roads to simply use the name of the neighbourhood roads instead, we can see that although the roads no longer match the surrounding terrain and have huge holes in them, the decals do correctly draw below them. Weird, right?
Either way, you should probably move any farm fields and wild flowers away from the roads to avoid this happening.
Decals that overlap the current lot's bounds get cut off
This is due to the lot skirt and lot terrain being two separate entities, each with their own overlay managers. Decals can only be assigned to one of these managers, so are unable to be drawn by both.
The lot skirt also does some maths to mask out the lot bounds, which prevents it from drawing its overlays over the lot terrain. You can patch out this mask and allow decals to overlap the lot, but it causes all of the decals and shadows on the lot to flicker like crazy, as both the lot skirt and lot terrain are fighting to draw their overlays on top of the other (aka z-fighting).
Hi! This mod adds age info to your sims' and pets' names and cause of death to their gravestones. There are a few versions, get the "inDaysTillNextAge" if you don't feel like tweaking BCONs to match this mod to your age span
When you hover over a sim, it will say
- "Edward Green, 10 days to adult" for teens, or
- "Edward Gray, 85 days old" for elders, or simply
- "Edward Grown, 21" if you get the "inYears" version
When you hover over a tombstone, it will say
- "Here Lies Edward Growl, Died of Hunger", or
- "Here Lies Edward Groom, Dearly Beloved" if you decide on a random epitaph, or
- "Here Lies Edwardina Grim, Died in Childbirth", which is also something you can pick
The mod is triggered by aging and dying. When you first install it, you want to buy the black cube with white plaque for §0 in Misc/Misc section and set up the neighborhood so you don't have to wait for everyone's tooltips to update naturally
Age
The age part only affects playable sims and pets, skipping townies, NPCs, bigfoot, robots, witches and zombies. Some of these restrictions are BCON configurable
Epitaphs
Death doesn't discriminate: townies and servos may also get epitaphs if you let them. This part is the same in all versions.
How it works. When a sim dies, you see a pop-up asking you if you would like to add a caption to their gravestone. If you say yes, the choice is between their true death type, custom death type like "killed in a fight", or random epitaph like "rest in peace"
My fave side feature is to customize the number on elder's age bar where it says "Is X days old" on UI panel regardless of aging mod
Please see the AgeTooltips.txt for full description, if you decide to get one of the "inYears" versions, because those are sensitive to your age span arrangement, and you may need some tips on how to edit. There's also a bit for modders on how to call tooltip update from your own code

There's a Saves screen in the app. It reads the save files the game wrote and shows you what's in them, without loading the game.
Pick a save and you get its households, with what they have in the bank, how many rooms the house has, who lives there, and the portraits the game itself drew. There's a photo album of the pictures your Sims took, and a page of stats for the whole world: population, net worth, life stages, the highest skill anybody has, what the save actually costs on disk. Backups show up as well, so you can see all four copies The Sims 4 quietly keeps.
How much you see depends on the game, because it only shows what the game really stored. The Sims 2 keeps the most by a long way, down to family trees, degrees and majors, and the hobby your Sim was born for. The Sims 1 gives you families, their houses, and how everyone feels about everyone. The Sims 3 barely writes anything about individual Sims, so there you get the world, the household and its portrait.
It never writes. The files are opened read-only, and nothing in a save gets renamed or moved.
Also new: on The Exchange your name is on your listings, every listing counts its downloads, and colour variations of the same mod gather under one card instead of filling the shelf.

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.

Btw, if you ever wanted an indicator of the ideological censorship that now exists, and how pervasive it has become? The poem I was looking for, with its implication that maybe it might not have been a bad thing to blow up parliament way back when, was published in a children's book two decades ago. Without incident. Now I can't even SEARCH for that poem without receiving a telling off for its contents.
Version 1.0.12 is out and it has some news about your Mods folder
so previously the conflict detector was basically a guy squinting at file names going "hmm. hair_v1.package and hair_v2.package. suspicious." which, correct, but not exactly forensic.
now it actually opens the package and reads the resource keys inside. type/group/instance. it knows when two mods are fighting over the same resource even if the file names are completely unrelated. it knows.
and it will tell you. it will tell you 79 times.
click one and it explains itself like a very polite bomb disposal expert: here is the other version, here is why the game loads them in an order nobody can predict, please pick one.
it also notes that overlaps can be intentional (patch mods exist, we're not monsters) so you don't nuke something on purpose. but be honest. you have four versions of the same vest. you know you do. i know you do. i had to look at a screenshot of it to write this post.
other things in 1.0.12:
linux/steam deck people: it now finds your Documents folder inside wine/proton prefixes. steam compatdata, flatpak, heroic, lutris, plain old ~/.wine. previously it looked in ~/Documents, found nothing, and quietly assumed you didn't own the sims. sorry.
toggling a mod while the game has it open no longer explodes with a windows error message in whatever language windows felt like that day. it waits a moment, tries again, and if the file genuinely vanished it just says so in a human sentence.
crash reports no longer contain your file paths. turns out "an error occurred" was helpfully attaching C:\Users\YourRealFirstName\...\thirst_trap_hair_FINAL_v3.package for context. it now sends <path>.package and nothing else. the app has learned discretion. it did not have discretion before. we don't have to talk about it.
the settings toggle is now called "Scan inside mods" because "scan for artwork" was underselling what it's doing in there.
anyway. 1502 mods. 79 conflicts. no judgement. (some judgement.)
