The path before you beckons familiarity. You wanted a change, you wanted to find answers to many, many questions. So go on, take the first step into the woods. The first step into a strange new world- where one must follow strange trails. They will interconnect, cross over, weave you through dangerous lands where the memories that lurk are worse than any movie monster. And who knows, one just might lead you home. If you even remember where that is.

Welcome, weary traveler, to the sideblog for Strange Trails! An SCP comic in the works by me that has the intention to be posted on the SCP wiki.

What exactly is Strange Trails about?

A SCP comic series set within the universe of the From 120 Archives Canon, that follows one Turner Harken (and a few others) after she stumbles beyond the Veil and into a Nexus hidden deep with the woods. A man in grey trails her, knowing more than he lets on. The people of this Nexus are on edge. A woman and her weird cat are seemingly in charge, from the Foundation, and said to be here to protect it. After a discovery deep within the woods, she'll begin to learn just what Genesis and her companion are trying to protect people from. And so will they, for that matter.

How far along are you in Strange Trails creation?

I’m getting there. I have character designs, roughly maybe 50-60% of the plot floating around in my head, and am in need of putting together set designs and a couple more characters.

My intention though is to get the main outline of the story ironed out soon, so that it can be split into chapters for me to outline further and begin the process of thumbnailing and all that jazz. 

Did you get the title from a Lord Huron album?

My ancestors: Our descendant, the heir to all our hopes and fears for a far-off future… She can buy fine clothes woven and knit by automatons, with but a fraction of a day’s earnings… and she does… she has so much free time to do as she pleases… and she uses some of that time to do what we did.

Me: studying Marine Biology, out in the middle of the Elkhorn slough absolutely fucking covered in the most foul-smelling mud and swamp scum you can imagine, deliriously happy as I spot a tell-tale bubbling in the mud. Undecim is the name of the cat that sticks by Dr. Halloway and her efforts in Thornborough. Only a select few know if his ability of speech.

He's got an professional air to him, but is a frightful and paranoid beast. A stopwatch hangs around his neck. He's waiting for something.

The twenty third iteration of Nobody to rise. A shapeshifting, eccentric entity that seems to pick-and-choose who even perceives him. A powerful spellcaster, no one really knows what he is.

Nobody knows more than he lets on, and seems to have some sort of motive in tailing Turner.

Next up, Altazimuth! A wandsmen who is the third main character, and is introduced a little bit into the story itself.

She was a member of the Rune Initiative, a subset of wandsmen primarily studying, documenting, and teaching others of magic; now turning its eyes to a newfound conundrum.

Something is not right.

An accident leaves her injured, confused, but with a vital clue to re-learning what went wrong.

Introducing the designs for one Turner Harken, and Dr. Genesis Halloway! Two of the three main characters of Strange Trails.

Turner is a dreamer. They've always been plagued by strange dreams and stranger creatures. She nervously wonders what it all means. She's going to find out.

And Dr. Halloway is a Foundation biologist and liaison/ambassador. She presently is in charge of watching over the Thornborough Nexus and it's people in light of odd events occurring within the anomalous world.
