You're just a mammal. Let yourself act like it. Your brain needs enrichment. Your body needs rest. You feel hunger and grow hair. You need to pack bond with other sentient things so you don't become unsocialized and neurotic. You are biologically inclined to seek dopamine and become sick when chronically stressed. "Hedonism" is made up to place moral value on taking pleasure in sensory experiences. I am telling you that if you don't let yourself be a fucking mammal, as you were made, you will suffer and go insane. No grindset no diets no trying to be above your drive for connection. Pursue what makes you feel good and practice radial rejection of the constructs meant to turn you into a machine. You're a mammal.
I am so serious about the way people are taught to view themselves as separate from and above any other animal being the root cause of a lot of problems. You're not better than a beast.

I fucking hate when people say stuff like this. Especially when it's on a generally good post with valuable information. On the one hand I want to share that information because it could genuinely help someone; on the other, I don't want to spread this type of guilt-tripping and shaming and potentially trigger someone else like me. It's a lose-lose situation. No matter what I do, I am going to feel guilty. No matter what I do, I will feel like a terrible person. It sucks and I just wish people would stop doing this. I know it's shocking, but it is actually possible to make an important and useful post without guilting everyone that sees it into sharing.

My communications teacher told me this, and I think it applies here:
“If you accuse someone, expect that they will immediately retaliate. We’re wired to growl back if someone growls first.”
When posts say, “you have no excuse,” the most common first thought will be something along the lines of “well maybe I do!” By framing the need to reblog as an accusation if one doesn’t, it actually drives away the otherwise passive audience that would’ve reblogged the post.
A much more successful addition to a post is something along the lines of “It would really help me/the cause out if you reblogged!” With this phrasing, it makes the passive audience feel more inclined to reblog because they will feel like they are helping you/the cause. So, it benefits both the audience and the cause

Also: there is no moral failure in not posting something to social media. It's fucking Tumblr. You have no moral obligation to post fuck or all and anyone saying otherwise needs a serious and swift perspective shift.
i'm not very excited for the prospect of video game movies replacing superhero movies in our current culturally zeitgeist, not just because the possible discourse surrounding it would/will be extremely obnoxious, but because with how much work is put into modern video game's visual and cinematography, a live action adaption of kindgom hearts for instance seems extremely redundant when we already have "KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 REMIX All Cutscenes (Game Movie) 1080p HD" right there.
it's part of the larger trend where people don't see adaptions of comic books, or video games or animation as new takes on the same stories, just using the different techniques of live action movies, but rather "fixing stories that were held back by their "inferior medium" as if video games by themselves aren't a perfectly fine and sometimes better way of telling a story compared to a 1 and a half hour movie.

Job interview tip I got from a tiktok but it's genius:
If you were unemployed for a while, they're going to ask if you can explain the gap in your resume. Unless you were actually doing something cool & relevant, this is hard to answer in a way that makes you sound like a good corporate cog. So here's the best and infallible answer -
No you cannot, because you signed an NDA.
You now sound mysterious, desirable, worldly, experienced. They can't even really ask you more about it! Perfect.
This tip isn't genius.
You can give general details even after signing an NDA, and the interviewer can absolutely ask about them. What type of work were you doing? What references can you provide for that time period? What sector was the job in? What skills did you learn from it?
If you're going for a non-office job, claiming to have an NDA will sound weird at best and might make the interviewer decide you're not worth the drama. If you're going for a professional job, the interviewer will be familiar enough with NDAs to be suspicious.
There are plenty of reasonable excuses for a resume gap that won't raise any red flags. You had a family situation which has now been resolved; you took time off to explore starting your own business but found you preferred working in a more traditional employment structure; you had a baby; you took classes; there was a fucking pandemic on. Your interviewer doesn't care too much, they just want to know it's something that won't be a problem during employment (so no "I sent bomb threats to my workplace and that was when the case was ongoing").
Please don't learn professional skills from TikTok. Most of them are coming from teenagers who have no idea how interviews actually work.
When vampires are portrayed as mainly preying on women that's so unrealistic like I'm sorry but they're too careful especially around strange men. Dudes are much easier. I ran an Aliens rpg years back. But the players didn't KNOW it was an Aliens game until halfway through the first session.
They thought it was a sci-fi game but they also thought the monsters were going to be zombies.
Over a period of 2 hours they then proceeded to make EVERY Aliens movie cliche "mistake" known to man. Because at the time they all made sense.
The characters in a story don't know they're in a story or what kind of story it is.
They might think their in a romcom instead of a slasher movie. And if you're not in a slasher movie, why the fuck would you search through every closet in your house just because a cup mysteriously fell off a table in the dining room?

I mean I know a certain level of projection on fictional characters and situations is inevitable and even healthy, but sometimes you got to step back into the real world to remind yourself that Character X is not your shitty parent/abusive ex/asshole boss/bully from high school, and that people who like Character X are not personally victimizing you.
I played Symphonia through dolphin with some friends a while back and sure it’s got some compelling story beats or characters or whatever but also the emulator somehow constantly fucking up textboxes was amazing. I could never replay this game through an official release cause it wouldn’t tell me I Foiled ot moking Sondwich.
