Did you know American cheese is so orange because back in England a long time ago it was a fad that orange cheese meant high quality. The grass feed you had to give the cow to produce it naturally only happens in a small window once a year. So dying cheese orange was a fade to show it was ✨fancy✨ The fad was brought over to America, but the English stopped coloring their cheese while we never did.

So blame England ✌️

The Journey of my Honeysuckle

The first few months went really well! But then the aphids attacked! I eventually got rid of them or rather the neighbors did. They were coming from the neighbors yard so now matter how many times I killed with them they just kept coming back until they got rid of the infested overgrowth on their side. No, I did not talk to them I wasn't even aware until after and my sister let me know she noticed they were coming from the otherside of the fence.

With the aphids gone water has been an issue. It's been hot and i’ve been very sick. But lately I've been able to tend to it more and and it's healing.

Prayers for it to heal fully

*yes, I know the pot is too small i’ll deal with it next year

Btw my family as accidentally tamed a wild female woodpecker. We named her Itty Bitty. She started coming to the bird feeder this spring as a baby and would beg my sister when the suet feeder was out. Now she perches right outside our living room window and peeps and we bring out her suet. She eats out of our hand.

Prayed over my plants as I watered them! When it's not 90 degrees out ill bring my rosary out and pray it for my sickly rose. The heat has been brutal to it and I admit I haven't been as diligent as I should have been with watering thus summer. I've just been so sick and watering in the heat is hard!

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.

He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"

"What?"

He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"

"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."

Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.

Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
