my two year old sister had her first exposure to vocaloid yesterday and it was a video of fucking ievan polkka for just dance 2016
i keep going through the symptoms for ADHD because i'm pretty sure i have it and i remember seeing the substance abuse part and thinking that it meant controlled substances. i told my Medically Diagnosed cousin about it, and when i told him about how i kept taking tylenol and caffeine pills to not feel like shit he said that that was actually substance abuse and I really did not realize that until he told me.
Someone will say "as a queer person in the heart of empire, my life is in danger every day" and you'll find out they're a developer for Amazon and live in San Francisco or Seattle or some shit, and then you'll meet a trans girl from Alva, OK who's like "Yeah, things are pretty good. AutoZone moved me to full-time."
Someone in a queer group in my current blue city said that they didn't like expressions of solidarity because it "diluted their oppression".

just chugged a [C4 EnergyÂź x Jolly RancherÂź Peach Zero Sugar Energy Drink]. I have never experienced the beta-alanine tingles until now. i don't like it. i should've eaten something first i think.
Sometimes when I really hate the way I look, I go online and look up prices of plastic surgery. That gives me perspective on okay I don't hate it that much, I'm just gonna go give myself a haircut.
Another Neon Odyssey page I made for StardustCindy on twitch! She was talking about how she was recently getting into DnD and how she was having loads of fun with her new character, so I was really excited to attack her on artfight with a Neon Odyssey version of her dnd character
i do write for attention, actually, because that's a normal reason to create art
did you hear about that actor performing a play in front of a crowd? clearly only doing it for attention
im trying to say something and im not gonna say it in an empty room

I think that high fantasy stories in which technology is at modern levels- and urban fantasy stories in which magic is known of by the broader populace, because those two are basically the same thing- are cool, and I wish I saw more of them. Funnily enough, the story I've seen do that best is Tactical Breach Wizards, which has a bizarrely good story. I'd say Dimension 20's Fantasy High also largely qualifies, and I also very much enjoyed. I enjoy a lot of urban fantasy, but I'm not particularly compelled by the notion of the magic world having to be secret, and I think magic being a thing people just know about is cool, and has a lot of opportunities for cool worldbuilding. Admittedly, I haven't written any stories of this type myself.
when the ogre I hired to guard the castle complains that the longsword I gave him requires a level of control and finesse he isn't used to

dude what are some useful writing tips/tricks for people who get burnt out and/or lazy REALLY fast
i have like a whole story planned but i've only gotten through like 2 chapters. thne i started all over and just can't push mysekf to go any firther
WJAT DO I DO
I REALLY ! REALLYYYY WANNA GET THROUGH MORE BUT I CANNTTTUITHH
oh hey i have the same problem. uh.
okay look it's never going to play out. as long as you keep stopping and starting again you will never get any further than those two chapters. i would know because i have done that exact same thing like seven times. i know you probably know this already but i feel the need to say it. what i usually do is just. don't finish. leave a sentence open, start the next chapter with a fragment, do something that leaves a gap to fill. that helps me a ton with not deleting it because my brain sees the gap and goes 'oh shit, we need to finish this' and im able to make progress.
also! do something else you enjoy, and even if it's not something you enjoy, just. find something else. go for a walk. get something to eat. watch a video. trying to force yourself won't make you suddenly want to write, and it'll probably just make you slow down even more until you crash in a fiery explosion.
then again this is entirely my perspective as someone who has to drag themselves out of bed daily just to get stuff done. so i don't know how well this applies to you. but yeah.
have fun :)
i may have really awful tooth enamel and horribly sticky plaque, but that won't stop me from eating a handful of wintergreen lifesavers to appease my oral fixation
Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
Totally normal for a legitimate for-profit company to refuse to reclaim or stop running their products even after they're no longer being paid to do so. I'm sure it's very normal to just keep running your service for free when your contract's been terminated. Spending money to continue running cameras that supposedly no one is looking at is definitely not an indicator they are just run by the federal government to spy on everyone and only a wacko conspiracy theorist would think so.
Tips for Writing Injuries
⧠Broken ribs suck. You donât just âwalk it off.â Breathing hurts. Laughing hurts. Existing hurts. Characters with rib injuries wonât be doing heroic sprints.
⧠Concussions arenât instant naps. Dazed vision, nausea, dizziness, maybe even personality changes, but theyâre not going to collapse neatly like in the movies.
⧠Blood loss is sneaky. Itâs not just about dramatic pools of blood. Itâs dizziness, confusion, and the body getting cold as circulation tanks.
⧠Adrenaline lies. Someone can take a serious injury and not feel it until the fightâs over. That âI didnât realize I was bleeding until laterâ trope? Very real.
⧠Twisted ankles are brutal. One bad step and suddenly running is off the table. Even walking hurts like hell. Perfect way to ground a chase scene.
⧠Burns linger. Even small burns hurt more than most people expect. Blisters, infection risk, constant pain, itâs not just a cool scar later.
⧠Dislocated shoulders = useless arm. Characters canât keep swinging a sword or firing a gun. Theyâre basically fighting one-armed until itâs fixed.
⧠Shock is a thing. Pale skin, trembling, rapid heartbeat, and eventually disorientation. A character might not even realize how bad their wound is.
⧠Stitches arenât magic. Getting sewn up is painful and recovery takes time. Theyâre not instantly battle-ready after a needle and thread.
⧠Scars tell stories. Some fade, some donât. Some stay sensitive forever. Donât forget the aftermath when the wound becomes part of the character.
i can hear my heartbeat and i haven't even done anything today. this is concerning.
