woopdedoo, it's finally pride month!!

even though i live in a conservative anti-everything-i-stand-for household, i am still celebrating pride in my own little ways.

i'm going to not one, not two, but three fun, silly queercoded, or simply just queer, events this month! i'm also making lots of art of my persona (who is explicitly trans!!), and a bunch of obviously queer music.

i'm going to buy pride merch made by small artists on the corners of online (and real life) marketplaces and not huge corporations trying to make a quick buck from people searching for community. i have, and will, commission queer artists to make queer-er art (if they're comfortable with it).

i will make it super goddamn obvious we exist, because there are people who want to pretend we don't.

we got to prove them wrong to hell and back.

i am so sick and tired of people trying to educate me on a topic they know nothing about.

"oh, trans people HAVE to feel dysphoria, else they're not valid"

"well, asean people have it easier academically"

"actually, autistic people are so bad at socialising to the point they need ipads to talk for them"

no, please shut the fuck up. i don't care if "these are just opinions", they're opinions that severely impact the way society thinks of certain groups.

if you know jackshit about something, either be open to criticism, or don't open your mouth at all.

Masturbation and its various names have often been considered a taboo topic.

So much so that for our sex education talk this year, they only spoke of mental health; whereas last year they talked about physical urges and such.

For non-cisgender (or certain asexual) people, you might even feel guilty masturbating, which i completely understand. Don't worry, it's normal and natural to pleasure yourself no matter what you have.

However, I believe masturbating shouldn't be an upsetting topic. It should be something you can discuss with your daughter if you were a father, and vice versa.

Why should we shame people for doing something that almost everyone has done at least once?

THE REPETITIVE TOPICS IN SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITIONS

yes, i know that it's a really small thing that basically nobody gives a fuck about, but i do.

it's so annoying when you've made a team, practised with older prompts, joined the competition — just to find out the topic is "should sutdents be allowed mobile phones in school?"

that's not the only example i have though. after years of joining debate contests, and even helping train my friend for one, i have seen so many topics which are the same thing in different fonts.

it's one of the major factors i don't join school debates anymore. it's simply boring.

see, that's yet another issue about repeating the goddamned topics. students will get bored of them eventually; if not today, then tomorrow.

we live in this world where the reality is bleak and very controversial as well. why can't we debate over something like "will the economy fail us by 2078?" instead of "does social media affect students' performance?"

making a post on tumblr about how much it pisses me off won't help, but, oh well.

is it just me, or has everyone been feeling this sense of overwhelming dread recently?

it's not a painful, heavy brick but more of a overhanging, looming raincloud.

the feeling like you're six again, and the field trip you're supposed to be on at that moment had started without you, and you're alone in the school.

but before that

it starts when your parents refuse to let you go, because it'll be "dangerous" and "you're simply too young (Mum'll let you go on trips when you're older, hm?)".

when everyone's buzzing about it the day before, even your best friend who knows you aren't going.

when you just have to live with the fact you're not going to go on a trip, which sucks on its own, but everybody is discussing it too, like they want to hurt you on purpose.

i think that's something like the big ball of dread in my chest. i can't spit it out like a hairball, so i'm just gonna have to live with it.

i don't know when or if it'll leave me alone to go bother someone else, but the issue is it's still here. lingering and twisting my esophagus oh-so slowly.
