I LOVE ur art and I love how you draw people’s bodies and the anatomy behind it
If (and when) u can are you able to show a quick tutorial of how you draw such realistic bodies and how you can replicate them? I also am curious if you use any pose makers since the ones I find online are behind a paywall most of the time :(
I actually sometimes use ur art as a reference for how I draw hands tbh because it’s just that good
Tysm for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day or night!!
Well here's a lil past post where I talk about bigger body types specifically that could be helpful!! AND THANK YOU SOO MUCCHH
Im perfectly fine with anybody using my artwork as reference or tracing or whatever they think will help them learn, HOWEVER! do keep in mind when you learn from me, you're not just learning the good stuff you are also learning ALL MY MISTAKES LMAO AND I MAKE A LOT OF EM! so I just want to emphasize the importance of learning from lots of different places so you don't pick up any one artists BAD HABITS AS WELL AS THE GOOD!
Also Quick proportion note, i talked about this a long while ago, but I DO draw my toons with the idea that they are shorter and more cartoony than I would draw a normal human! Here's a pic of some brusha art next to a newer drawing of my fursona for example haha, I draw them with bigger heads, hands and feet compared to their bodies and stuff like that to make them look shorter! So just something to keep in mind when looking at my dandy's art if you plan on using it as any kind of reference!
I think the best way to understand how to shape your torsos is to keep in mind what's underneath! No bump or curve happens for no reason, think about where the ribcage and hip bones would be and it'll be much easier to picture everything!
Remembering where everything is relative to one another is very helpful as well, the arms bend right around the end of the ribcage and the tips of your hands end around mid thigh-ish. if you're doing a tricky pose and want to triple check your proportions, drawing a quick circular action line from the tip of the finger to the thigh can quickly help you visualize how long the arm would be if flat against the torso and you can readjust if it's looking off!
I think the most important part of drawing a dynamic body that feels like it has weight, is paying attention to the shoulders and hips! The fasted and easiest way to make a torso pose look organic and comfortable is to point the shoulders and hips in different directions. when standing people will usually lean on one leg, which will lift the hip on that side! And I always like to do a hand gesture of some kind, making the shoulder lift with the arm as they do it, and boom easy dynamic standing pose! Again here's me doing it on that brusha drawing
As for references I don't use any type of pose maker or 3d models, not because they are bad necessarily or anything like that i know lots of artists use them and i could see them being very helpful esp if you're doing a unusual pose you won't really find refs for! I just prefer actual pictures, there's no better reference for how skin folds or the uniqueness of human bodies better than real life pictures in my mind! I say it in that other post as well but I use Pinterest for ref pics sometimes, and I love using adorkastock references. Never be scared to make whatever pose you want and take your own pictures as well I do that here and there!
AND OF COURSE remember body's come in alll sorts of different shapes, so there's really no wrong way to do it!
I hope any of that was helpful to you!! Feel free to ask about anything else and I will happily yap about it!
