Hello, I'm Summerly and this is my personal blog. I post a variety of things here, if you want to know more I have a about page. (She/her pronouns, just so people know.)
Hello- I'm Summerlycoris. But I'm happy to go by Summerly, or Summer.
I had a page set up to be my about on desktop, but that doesnt seem to work well anymore (doesnt work at all on mobile?) And it's probably extremely outdated. So I've decided to remake it for a pinned post.
Anyway, I'm an aussie woman. I was born in '95. And according to this poll, I am statistically older than you lol.
Sometimes I draw things. Sometimes I write things. Mostly I've been drawing/writing fnaf stuff. I have an ao3 and DA- same username. Though i either post the stuff here too, or link to it here.
For thing I like to play, I've been stuck on FNAF (again...) for over a year now. Ruin (and the lead up to ruin.) gave me brainworms that I'm trying to exorcise.
I also like...
Splatoon
The Sims (currently playing rotationally in Veronaville, good fun!) I especially love Sims 2 and 3. Sims 4 is fun, but I boycotted it for years until they added toddlers lol. And havent played it muxh recently- favouring Sims 2.
Games in the Tales Of Series (Tales of the Abyss is my all time fav- I also loved playing Tales of Xillia, Tales of Innocence, and Dawn Of The New World. Missed symphonia, because when I was big on tales games it was still only on gamecube orz.)
Spyro games, (especially A Heroes Tail, and Year of The Dragon.)
Undertale and Deltarune, (Chara's my favourite character. I cosplayed them at Magneticon and Supanova, in 2019!)
Irisu Syndrome
Some of Funamusea's games like Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, and The Gray Garden.
Yume Nikki
Ib.
Pokemon- mostly the older stuff admittedly. (I'm still technically boycotting Sword and Shield due to dexit lol, though really, its because the story seemed really bad.) I liked Legends Arceus, and Pokemon Scarlet though. Haven't played the expansions for scarvio, probably never will.
I don't watch a lot of movies, anime, or tv shows. I liked watching Bojack Horseman and She-Ra. And I have a lot of memories of the .hack series.
For favourite characters- Anise Tatlin from TOTA (could you guess?) And Cassie from FNAF Ruin.
I don't believe in DNI's- if you piss me off, I either won't follow you, or block you.
I'm autistic. I probably don't fit into your box. And don't have any intention on cutting myself up, to do so.
I guess that's about it. Anyway, welcome to my blog!
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)

We all got that one mutual that be going through the most treacherous situations a person could endure and then posting a few minutes later about why such and such should get fucked through a concrete wall.
Mutual: my situationship partner just got caught in a tornado at a broken glass factory where they were cheating on me with my landlord who just increased my rent by 6000% and my pet marmot has a disease so rare they’re naming it after him and all my bones are becoming apricot jelly which I’m allergic to.
Same mutual 16 minutes later: Do you think Ronald McDonald and the Burger King ever explored each other’s bodies?
Writers cannot watch a movie normally. we are sitting there going "oh that's the inciting incident" and "they introduced that object too early it's obviously coming back" and "this dialogue is doing three things at once good for them" while everyone else is just. watching the movie. having a normal experience. feeling feelings without labelling them. i envy that so much and i would never give it up.
the problem is that ten years ago, I wasn’t able to plant a tree. Same with nine years ago. And now the entire thing feels pointless because I still don’t have a damn tree and planting it isn’t getting any easier.
I do think the ability to emoji-react is a net win for human communication. not only does it give you an outlet for 'I see and acknowledge this but don't have a verbal response' but it also adds a pleasing alethiometer element to things
my coworker announces that he's off to the dentist. someone reacts with a tooth emoji. is this a statement of dentist solidarity? a wish for my coworker to return with more (or fewer?) teeth than he set out with? simple word association? who can say
today I learned that in 2008, the city council of florence overturned dante’s sentence of execution if he returned from exile. yes, dante’s inferno dante, who died in 1321.
but the funniest part of this is not that they were debating the exile of a man who has been dead for over 500 years.
the funniest part is that the vote was 19-5. five people voted to uphold dante’s exile.
The objectively funniest part of this is actually that the city that holds his remains, Ravenna, refused to give his remains back. This was a ploy from florence to have his remains moved back for the tourist money and its been ongoing for a long time. Florence had a fake tomb built in the city to trick people into visiting, and have tried to force the return of the remains.
His actual caretakers have been very steadfast in keeping them hidden, moved, or generally out of reach to respect his choice in life to never, ever, ever return to florence, even when he was first offered the chance to return. This is at this point an almost millenium long feud that florence is really, really mad about losing
