Some advice for when you’re writing and find yourself stuck in the middle of a scene:

kill someone

ask this question: “What could go wrong?” and write exactly how it goes wrong

switch the POV from your current character to another - a minor character, the antagonist, anyone

stop writing whatever scene you’re struggling with and skip to the next one you want to write

write the ending

write a sex scene

use a scene prompt

use sentence starters

read someone else’s writing

Never delete. Never read what you’ve already written. Pass Go, collect your $200, and keep going.

one thing i appreciate about tharntype is that type isn't just instantly cured of homophobia once he realizes that he likes a guy. it's a long process for him to unlearn that hatred and fear both internalized and externalized. just makes him feel more like a real person i guess

a lot of people don’t see the character development because they’ve never been in a position where they have to come to terms with their sexuality. as much as we love a good rainbow... it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

there’s a lot of projected emotions, internalized homophobia, and confusion. i feel like of all the BLs i’ve watched, gulf’s portrayal of type’s character deals with this shift mess of emotion and confusion in the face of a sexuality awakening so very well. kudos to him as an actor, really.

Y'all, listen, shit is going down on Ao3, luckily it hasn't reached The Dark Crystal, but I feel it still needs to be addressed.

So, some motherfuckers are thinking it's fucking hilarious to post only fics with few actual words, but the user (usually anon or an orphan account) puts an entire fanfiction in the additional tags. It takes up a huge portion of the page, and takes forever to scroll past.

Apparently some fuckers are thinking this shit is trendy, and think it's fun to include almost every fandom (including one I am new to and have been trying to enjoy) to try and affect -or rather inconvenience- the most people possible.

If they realize it or not, they are taking up and wasting the mods' time. THEY ARE VOLENTEERS, and these fucking pieces of shit think it's all shits and giggles to not only waste the mods' time, but the hundreds of thousands effected, people who just want to enjoy the website and its content.

Do not participate in these 'games'. It is not funny to anyone, and it is wasting the time of the people you share the website with and of the people who allow you to be on the site in the first place.

My question: is there any possibility to report those fanfics, so the accounts get suspended? This is sabotaging our archives and I don’t think people who sabotage something should be allowed to use it (at least for a time). If so, please tell me and i will gladly sacrifice my free afternoons to report these people. Of course only as long as it makes the volunteers work easier and doesn’t add to it.

Personally I attribute at least part of this to the shift of fandom onto Tumblr platform. Because of the way Tumblr works, multiple replies and reactions can get cluttered and overwhelming really fast, so leaving replies and feedback can be awkward. I have actually seen ‘tumblr etiquette’ posts going around scolding people for adding commentary onto posts when they reblog it! Actually discouraging  people from reacting and adding their own words!  If any of this attitude spills over onto fanfic posts and reblogs, no wonder readers are shy about adding their own words to an author’s posts.

Popular tumblr blogs sometimes talk about what they think are annoying ways to interact with their posts. And I can see it - their posts get thousands of reblogs, that kind of response can be overwhelming - of course they prefer only a minority of people interact, and they do it in Approved Of ways.

And then, because they’re popular, a lot of people see that, reblog it, and think that their opinions should be The Rules Of Tumblr.

But smaller blogs interact with each other VERY differently.

Writing/Fanfic blogs want something very different from aesthetic blogs. Small meta blogs tend to adore people adding their own meta to a post. Social Justice blogs often think that responses dilute their message, but headcanon blogs frequently want validation and agreement!

Tumblr is never going to be a hivemind. It’s a lot like any other social setting. The more popular people may have stringent rules of social etiquette, but most people like chatting.

Talk to us! Add comments! Babble on in the tags! Make your own post in response if you think you’re derailing things, and At (@) the original poster so they can respond if they want to!

Now that TharnType is officially, officially over I can finally say that despite it’s many, many shortcomings it’s become one of my fave series and they’ve become one of my top fave couples. 

TharnType s1 and s2 had some fucked up writing, the novel is even more fucked up might I add, and Tharn, Type, and Fiat have done some ugly things that could be hard to overlook let alone forgive. I won’t even mention Lhong because his character was fucked up beyond repair. 

But the series is a lot to take in, esp s1. It was hard to watch at times and I skipped some stuff when I first watched, but the acting made me stay. MewGulf breathed life into TharnType and pulled me in with them. 

TharnType is one of those series that you either hate or love. No in between. I understand why it’s hated as much as it’s loved, I really do. That’s why I tried to keep my feelings about the negativity to myself because a lot of those criticisms are extremely valid. 

Personally as much as I’m gonna miss MewGulf as TharnType I’m super happy that it’s over. It ended beautifully and I don’t think I could take another season/series with Mame’s trash ass writing.

He. Is. Born. To. Be. A. Star. And he DESERVE it. I love Mew not only because he is so fckn sexy that I want to literally die. I love him too because I think he is a VERY clever and hard-worked person. I love how he express himself and his ideas: when they asked him about bl, he said he don’t like to call it bl, he just thinks there are stories of love and good plots. And that is so important.

4. OFF *chaotic energy*

I think Off is handsome, objetively. I don’t know if it is just my opinion but I LOVE his face. He has also a lot of caotic energy and it makes him more attractive even if it is possible. Of course he’s a great actor and this makes him one of my favorites.

3. TUL *sxy as fck energy*

Have you seen this guy? OH MY GOD. He is GORGEOUS. When I see him I feel a lot of good energy, his face, his movements, his way of communicating… He cannot be real, for god sake. I want him to be my son, my friend, my brother, my father or my boyfriend. I don’t care I just LOVE him. He has a lot of beautiful energy that deserves to be sharing.

2. PP KRIT *i-don’t-have-a-word-to-describe-him energy*

OKAY, my latest discovery in BL and I cannot be more happy for it. PP Krit is a pretty boy, for me one of the most beautiful actors in BL, but he is ALSO A SUCH GOOD ACTOR THAT I WANT TO DIE. His expressions, his way to be in public, a baby energy but also a professional energy that makes me cry. I feel like he just started and he deserves everything - special mention: YOU MUST SEE I TOLD SUNSET ABOUT YOU, A MASTERPIECE -

1. GUN *KING energy*

This guy is not normal. Gun almost unintentionally stands out above the rest. I do not decide between his personality, his face or his quality as a professional. But definitely GUN HAS EVERYTHING. I am in love with him since the first time I saw him and I am still here. I feel for him a lot of love but ALSO SCARES ME. Beauty baby, but also a MONSTER who can do everything he wants because he is the KING.
