I really want someone to ask me who I'm sexually attracted to just some I can make up some bullshit answe like "I had an accident as a child and the only way to save me was to amputate my sexual attraction. it's a really sad story" or "I ordered one of those, but it never came in the mail. The US postal service is so unreliable". i just want to come out to people with weird answers
More weird ways to say youâre asexual or aromantic!!
1) I accidentally ate fae food and they asked for my sexual/romantic attraction as payment.Â
2) I traded it for *skill of your choosing*. I diffidently got the better end of that bargain.Â
3) I forgot to save my attraction to iCloud and my phone broke.

Whenever I see the word asexual in my biology class Iâm always like, thatâs me!! Iâm asexual!! Even though itâs talking about asexual reproduction. Iâm so devoid of asexual representation that I get excited jut by seeing the word in a scenario with a completely different meaning.

[ID: The Marge meme. Marge Simpson, labelled âmeâ, looks at a potato, labelled âthe way that âqueerâ can be both a purposefully vague term and a broad umbrella termâ, and says âI just think itâs neat.â. End ID]
Noticed R*verdaleâs new season is airing now so hereâs your reminder that the showâs writers are openly aphobic for choosing to overwrite Jugheadâs sexuality. He is very obviously aroace in all of the comics, and there are no excuses for excluding such a large part of his identity.
And they are very much aware of what they're doing, since this is a direct quote from the actor Cole Sprouse: "We were working against 75 years of comic purism in which the two characters had very little romantic interaction. We were also working against Jugheadâs asexuality.â
#also also! while i was looking for this quoteâ the amount of articles saying that his relationship in the show is fine #because he can still be asexual and want romance #is just a slap in the face for aro peopleÂ
Including @arowitharrowsâ tags because thatâs important. Not to mention Jughead very clearly expresses sexual attraction to Betty. But yeah just so itâs clear: this was not an accidental omission, but a clear and deliberate choice to exclude Jugheadâs identity, with very aphobic intentions.Â
FYI I am reblogging this every single time Riverdale trends.
When I was in kindergarten I was dared to kiss another kid in my class. I refused to do it and said that it was âinappropriate kindergarten behavior.â I think this fact perfectly sums up my sexuality.

You arenât less asexual or aromantic just because itâs due to trauma.
You arenât less ace or aro just because you might become allosexual or alloromantic later.

8 Ace Books Everyone Should Read This Pride Month
I often think that those on the ace spectrum are amongst the most misunderstood in the LGBTQ+ community. Asexuality is an absence of sexual attraction but that doesnât necessarily mean an absence of romantic attraction. There are also people who identify as aromantic but who do experience sexual attraction. The ace spectrum has what is known as a âgray areaâ which includes sub-identities such as demisexuality, a sexual attraction only to people with whom one has an emotional connection. I think that the ace spectrum is one of the clearest indicators that sexual and romantic orientations are completely different things and therefore they donât actually have to match up within the same person. For a while now, Iâve been considering the fact that my own sexual and romantic orientations do not quite match. Iâm pretty sure Iâm actually heteromantic bisexual and I honestly only have the relatively recent dismantling and separation of sexual and romantic attraction, largely spearheaded by the exposure and discussion of the ace spectrum, to thank for the realisation of that possibility. Anyways, here are a few books with characters who fall somewhere under the ace umbrella. -Love, Alex x
1. Letâs Talk About Love by Claire Kann.
When Alice comes out as asexual, her girlfriend dumps her and she swears off dating for good but then handsome Takumi enters her life and she canât seem to ignore the rom-com level of feels. Itâs funny, cute and so thoroughly readable with a very relatable protagonist, making it a fantastic book for normalising asexuality.
2. Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp.
When Coreyâs best friend Kyra dies, she realises that their small Alaskan town is behaving very strangely and keeping secrets. Iâll admit that this book doesnât have particularly high ratings on Goodreads and thatâs probably because it promises to be more atmospheric and eerie than it is. However, Coreyâs asexuality isnât a driving factor of the plot -she simply is, which I find wonderfully refreshing. She is also questioning which I think will provide a window for people who are still figuring things out.
3. The Sound of Stars by Alechia Dow.
Ellie and Morris live in a dystopian world, devoid of emotional and creative expression, but they both risk their lives for their love of the forbidden arts. This is a wonderfully unique sci-fi with both main characters displaying demisexuality. Itâs definitely one for bookworms and pop culture nerds who would die to protect creativity and emotional freedom.
4. How To Be A Normal Person by T. J. Klune.
Gus is an eccentric soul and heâs fine with not fitting in until he meets asexual bohemian Casey and he vows to become as normal as possible. Itâs funny, heartwarming and incredibly queer with an array of fantastic side characters. This is a great book for learning more about the ace spectrum and a lovely positive depiction of a loving, respectful ace relationship.
5. Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire.
When children return from other worlds, they are forever changed and Eleanor Westâs Home for Wayward Children is there for them until they can fall back through their door. These whimsical novellas are brimming with diverse queer characters and this first instalment is narrated by asexual teen Nancy. The clear distinctions between asexuality and aromanticism are talked about but I love how identity and sexuality is never a plot point or defining characteristic in these stories.Â
6. Upside Down by N. R. Walker.
When recently dumped Hennessey moves to a new town, he sets up a support and social group for LGBT+ people, which is where he meets socially awkward Jordan. There is a lot of asexual education without being too preachy and I learnt so much from this very sugary gay romance. If you like a bit of tension or drama, itâs probably not for you but if youâre looking for an easy, funny, cute read, pick it up!
7. Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman.
When her sister dies, Rumi is sent to live with her aunt in Hawaii where she makes some unlikely friends and eventually finds the courage to return to the music that she and her sister loved so dearly. Rumi is asexual and aromantic and sheâs terrified that sheâll never find anyone who understands her like her sister did. As you might expect, this book is devastating but so beautiful.
8. Loveless by Alice Oseman.
When Georgia starts university, sheâs sure that her love life will finally begin but she is about to learn what true love really entails. Loveless isnât actually released until next month but itâs a HIGHLY anticipated book charting an asexual aromanticâs learning and self-acceptance as well as being a true celebration of platonic love. Pre-order it now!
Happy asexual week! Here are some ace book recs by ceceewing_ on instagram đđ¤
itâs only when you get older that you realize how much your average american childhood resembled being a cult
Iâm specifically referring to all the brain-washing (key characteristic of cults). It is terrifying the extent to which american education & media actively works to brainwash the populace. If you grow up in america, you are continuously surrounded by propoganda and narratives that:
Science isnât real
Science is the ENEMY
Science is lying and you should listen to the Church instead. The universe is 6000 years old, evolution isnât real (and the earth isnât round, and vaccines are poison). Any Good Christian agrees with at least one of these. (Many teachers are not allowed disagree. Many teachers agree with âalternative facts.â)
To remind School Children of their Duty to Obey, they are required to voluntarily recite a Pledge of Allegiance every morning. (Other countries donât do this; it would be considered âcreepyâ and âgovernment overreach.â)
(But those countries overreach in other ways, such as by providing healthcare & food & housing to the Undeserving. These countries are not to be trusted. It is a Sin to be UnAmerican, even if you are not American and do not live in America. In fact, thatâs even more sinful.)
America is Great. In fact, it is the Greatest. We are better than all other countries. (We are not taught very much about other countries, but we know that we are Better Than Them.)
We are Godâs favorite country. God Protects Us, because we are the Greatest. We must be, to have God on our side.
Other countries are a threat to the Spirit of Democracy. It is our duty and God-given right to Protect Our Interest Abroad.
Other Countries Are The ENEMY. (Especially Russia, China, the Middle East, Latin America, Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, and whoever the Military Industrial Complex wants to sell us weaponry to invade.)
(Even if we donât always attack the right people, they are still sinners. It is a sin not to be American.)
Other Americans (minorities, immigrants, socialists/communists, political activists, the poor) Are Also The ENEMY. They are less âAmericanâ than we are. That makes them dangerous. These people must not be allowed to attack our Way of Life.
(Even if they are Americans, they are not real Americans. Therefore they are sinners.)
The Police/FBI/CIA/Military are there to protect us. When the Government hurts people, it is because those people are the ENEMY.
Slavery was âbadâ but many slave-owners were Great Men. We surround our cities & parks with Monuments & Flags to venerate our Founding Fathers, and the Great Leaders of the Confederacy. These things must be remembered bc they are Historical. They are not harmful because Slavery is over now. Itâs in the Past.
(Slavery is also Historical, but it does not need to be remembered)
Racism is over bc of Dr Martin Luther King (who was a peaceful man without socialist leaning) who uncontroversially ended racism, then died tragically (with no governmental wrongdoing). He is loved and respected by white people now, who name Buildings & Streets after him, to remind themselves that Racism Is Over.
MLKâs photo is in every History Textbook, so students can read about how racism ended (and about how MLK was not a radical harassed by the FBI, but simply a mild-mannered pacifist). Students are happy to learn that the Civil Rights Era fixed everything and was a very long time ago. (You can tell because the textbook photos are always in black-and-white. No living person actually remembers it. It was so long ago.)
Everyone is Equal now, but obviously not actually equal, that would be Communism. Poor People exist because they are Lazy and Undeserving, and do not pull themselves up by their Bootstraps. Billionaires are deserving because they pulled themselves up with their Good Ideas. We should Admire them, and not Steal from them out of Envy. Taxing them would be Stealing.
Taxation Is A Form Of Theft. (That is why brave rich white men founded this country.)
(Taxation is not a form of Theft when it funds the most overfunded military in the world. It is Theft when it pays for the breakfast of school children. We need a Powerful Military to Protect Our Interests Abroad. It is the Job of The Parents to feed their hungry children. Sometimes parents are Poor and Lazy, that is not the Governmentâs Responsibility.
(Every year the Military spends Billions on equipment it does not intent to use; these purchases are stored in âgraveyardsâ throughout the country. America is a young country, filled with many types of graveyards and corpses, so many corpses, some of whom stand upright and walk around and perform labor for crumbs. They stand behind cash registers and stoop at desks, and crumble before your eyes. Your country is crumbling, crumbling its people to dust.)
(One day you will crumble too. You will be nothing but crumbs and bones, and confusion over how this all happened.)
(It happened by design.)
