So, i did this a year or two back and decided to do it again. And honestly? it made me realize how much i grew as a person. Sure Im still an insecure little shit, but not as much as i used to be. And sure im still not a great person, but im sick of my own shit and trying to fix that. Life may not be great for me, but im trying to make it better for other people.

TLDR: keep your chin up, even if its just for a little bit. Its worth it :3

So I just went through three notebooks to find this, because I knew it was there.

I was at the ROM, about six years ago, at a special exhibit on Babylon. And there was a brick, formerly part of a palace. And Nebuchadnezzar, the one who built the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, had had his name in cuneiform stamped on every single brick, to emphasize that he had built it.

And on this one, a workman had carved his own name, Zabina’, into the block too, in Aramaic. Here’s the brick. It’s 2600 years old.

so my Treasured Mutuals may know this already, but as of a couple days ago I've been doing a little worse mental health wise

thats all kind of coming to a close for now, because GUESS WHAT

my mom talked to our family physician about me medically transitioning. We didn't have much hope for anything more than a depo shot, but Omg

the doctor we go to sees a lot of young trans patients, And already knows what to do. Not only did she recommend an iud (which would block my period for up to FIVE YEARS), but she even considered the possibility of TOP SURGERY

even though I'm a minor, she said that because I have back problems and am already on medication to regulate my hormones, insurance will very likely cover the iud AND possibly a top surgery

the closest my top surgery could be is this summer because I would have to go through physical therapy and stuff to make sure it's actually my boobs causing the back pain. After that, the physician can refer us to a plastic surgeon for a reduction, and we just full send it

i was worried about my mom being skeptical about the procedures, but because she's had both of them in the past, she and I aren't worried too much about damage being done. My family has been nothing but supportive and positive, and I'm so grateful

nothing yet has been scheduled, but just knowing that we have a plan is so comforting. I feel more confident that I'll one day have a body that I like, and I know that my family loves me

Also, do not walk close to walls. It will be easier for someone so walk past you and push you against it or corner you.

If your gut is telling you to cross the street or change your path, do it. Don’t risk it. Your body knows.

If you can, buy a large umbrella and walk holding it. Studies say that predators are less likely to attempt an attack on someone that could fight back. Keys around your knuckles is fine but you’ll need to get very close to do damage. Umbrellas are more precise.

Avoid wearing headphones if you are alone on an empty street. Look aware.

Again: Stay. Away. From. Walls.

Entering an uber alone? Call your father (or anyone you trust) and say “hey dad! Yep, I’m almost there, I’m sending you the route.” outloud. Then proceed to send them the route so they can follow the uber drive. This will most likely intimidate the predator.

If you see someone in an uncomfortable or possibly dangerous situation, walk up to them and say “Betty, oh my god, I haven’t seen you in so long!”. If she gets slightly confused, you can whisper and let her know you’re trying to help and that she should follow along. Walk together to another station or away from where you are. The man will most likely not follow. I have done this one 2 times and can be very helpful.

If you are unsure she needs help, you can pass her a note saying something like “hey, I noticed this man beside you is making you uncomfortable. If you’d like help, fake a sneeze right now and I will come up to you and pretend we are friends.” This is a long note, but its an example. Be discrete. If she follows along, proceed with the previous tip. This is helpful when you’re in a crowded train and you notice harassment.

Help your sisters. Trust them. Trust yourself. Be safe.
