I’ve tried like 3 times to get through 119, and I just can’t. Aurora feels off. It’s like I started reading a Chip/Reader fanfic by accident. It feels like she doesn’t belong shoehorned into the middle of this story, and her teleporting them out of there felt very deus ex machina

No disrespect to you Milomumbles, but I agree. I love you, WD was amazing, Nora was hilarious. But I have so much nostalgia for my Albatrio, and their story was already so far written. A new character was not wanted or necessary in this story. And you do just feel out of place. And the chip hero worship thing does feel kind of fanficy.

Also just being a petty bitch here but maybe if they hadn’t axed the second alternating campaign like we had before, Milo could have joined at the START of a new season of pd. That at least would have felt more natural than a new main character spawning into riptides endgame. I will say again that the downgrade of episode production from 8 episodes a month to 2 episodes a month… for the same membership cost is insulting.

I was talking about this account with some friends earlier and I realized that I have been posting daily (or at least I tried to) for 521 days. And thats gonna be ending soon and I’m getting weirdly nostalgic about it. So I just want to say thank you for the support, the funny comments, and the shared sisyphean struggle when it got pushed back. It’s been really fun and I hope I’ve been helpful. Honestly, I think the fact that you’ve had to sort through so many different things the council has said on streams and in posts, to decipher the conflicting statements on a timeline is crazy. I salute you and your loyalty to this podcast. But the fact that I’ve had to go to a random tumblr user and a random fandom updater on twitter to figure out what’s going on and if the show is skipping a week for “editing reasons”… idk

My genuine prediction for when Riptide comes back is: We’ll get the Jay solo episode that explains what happens during the pirate vs navy war, we see which side comes out mostly unscathed. Have the big traitor reveal moment. And then immediately after that in the next episode we time skip. Like Chip and Gill have this horrific adventure that ends with them dragging Arlin from the hole. And they come back out and it’s been 3 years. And that’s how they’ll explain why the players may have forgotten some stuff, because everything has changed

Okay, so at the very least all of TMK has already been recorded. The council should be able to let the editors add in artwork and release that on YouTube. Can we please expect that during the next six weeks they can record and release something new? A one shot? Or a what if? Maybe? Please? Including the past two weeks of nothing, it’ll have been two months. I really hope those boys can get some stuff out in that time. Hopefully at least we can get some clear and transparent updates on their riptide recordings.

JRWI Manifesto Response

Okay so, yeah I’m disappointed like the rest of you. Actually, I’m angry. I feel personally strung along, and I’m not sure how the fandom as a whole hasn’t rioted.

One campaign for non members, and $5 tier ($9 aud) will have bts and oneshots? Okay but are you actually sticking to that? We’ve supposed to have been having what ifs for the past two years. And yet…

I get it, playing in person feels fun. Seeing your friends across the table from you is fun. Is it practical in this situation tho? Condi lives in Canada! Take it from someone who’s lived in isolated Australian mining town no. 34. Constant road trips can really drain a person. And this is again, for a podcast that has a horrendous track record of burnout. I give them a couple of months of this at most, before it starts causing friction.

The utter lack of accountability in this video hurts a lot by the way. Did they apologise once for stringing the audience along again? Of course not. We just get the standard response we’ve been hearing for more than two years now. We just have to trust them. Apparently the 23 month extended hiatus of their most popular series is worth it, we promise.

At this point, I’m spending the rest of this months subscription downloading all the episodes for nostalgic purposes. And then I’m out. I can’t support this nonsense anymore.

Anyway, worlds most patient and understanding fandom gets screwed over again. What else is new?

I'm happy people are excited for grizzly's new campaign. the concept sounds dope etc. that's not the point. the point is that there has been an indefinite hiatus on their most popular campaign, with very little communication as to why it hasn't returned yet, and when (if ever) it will. in the meantime, they are still releasing and selling merch for said campaign. I like the merch - very much in fact - but I can't help notice the irony of selling products off an ip that has been so neglected for 18 months.

I saw someone talk about giving them time to prep for the end of riptide. Babes it's been 18 months. They've had time. Idk about yall, as someone who's the same age as the jrwi crew, and having run campaigns while also working/studying - trust that shouldn't be the reason. And like. Maybe riptide isn't coming back: fine. then tell us, so we can move on and enjoy the new campaigns. Just, talk to the people who have supported you financially.

It feels like over the years it's been the same criticism: talk to us. Be open. Just say something my dudes.

Thank you for saying this and speaking up. Sometimes I feel like this fandom is so empathetic it can be to it's detriment... That any valid questioning can be shot down immediately. I am of the opinion that the council can sometimes accidentally take advantage of that as well.

If riptide really does come back in September (which I can't possibly believe it will if Grizz is also dming midnight shift), it will have been 21 months worth of hiatus. I can't possibly think that this will be a smooth viewing experience, let alone a smooth gaming experience for the council. If you truly cannot prioritise your most popular series, and provide an end for it before starting something new. You can at least be open and honest to your audience about that.
