An AU where Kinger stops the deletion, but Caine still feels it, and as a safety protocol reverts back to his original form of just a red orb.
Kinger thinks this means some of his code did get deleted and is stuck with just his base systems in tacked .
Fearing that the humans might actually delete him or worse if they think otherwise he pretends that's what happened. Acting as if he has no memory of what he did and even communicating in simple shapes instead of talking.
This results in the circus cast actually interacting with him more and bond with him, and he starts to understand why what he did was wrong.
But over time it gets harder to repress his more advanced coding and it keeps trying to come back. It's getting harder to keep up the lie, but he's terrified of loosing the connection with the humans he's always wanted and dreads what they'll do if they find out he's been lying to them.
Kinger loves all his kids equally
He just forgets sometimes
I don't know what to start with. That this is the first thing I've remotely gotten close to finishing since I posted last, or that this is literally based on a YTP, or that I didn't even bother with blending and just went flat out child-with-crayons mode (as you can tell).
GUESS WHAT!! CONTINUATION COMIC!!
(If you saw my failed posts of this, no, you did not. :) )
This AU is by @ctrl-alt-del-au !! A continuation of THIS post which is based on THIS post :3 (i really hope the linking is right sisndkdn)
Ignore mispellings. im dumb <3
(More under the break!)
👇 au link
i am a normal amount into @ctrl-alt-del-au's au. totally normal amount.
Came up with silly idea for a little fan comic for @ctrl-alt-del-au !!!! I'm so excited to see where's story will go
Inspired by @ctrl-alt-del-au 's AU, CTRL-ALT-DELETE
Another fanart comic page for @ctrl-alt-del-au 's AU, I wanted to explore the before and after interactions and experiences of Caine going from Ringmaster to Circus Guest. Comic reads left to right, until the bottom panel, which it then reads right to left. Edit: I had to fix a "k" in the word mask, and touched up some lines and inking in the process. Edit 2: Did some line art adjustment and cleanup to polish it. I think this is finally my last edit.
AU BELONGS TO @ctrl-alt-del-au who made the first part and is working really hard on creating more! So support them you caine angst hungry shloppers!
Anyways besides my original au im going to post doodles and small comics about Caine and other members of the cast, I already have a lot of doodles ready to post but ill try to do a post or two a day instead of bombing tumblr with suffering caines (even if you freaks like it)
Gather up all of the crew!
It's time to ship out Bink's brew!
Wave good-bye, but don't you cry
Our memories remain~ 🎶
Can't prove it but I just know that if you grew up loving Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) you also love Project Hail Mary.
Because like:
Nerdy scientist who is laughed at/not taken seriously/kicked out of academia is charged with leading an important mission because of one (1) zany belief that they refuse to back down from, and the help of a somewhat aloof, morally ambiguous but very powerful person who believes in them but ultimately also betrays their trust.
Said nerdy scientist believes they're not qualified for this but actually have invaluable knowledge that they also downplay constantly as being not that good/important (Milo is 'just' a linguist but he literally holds the key to communicating and helping Atlantis regain their old knowledge vs. Ryland 'I'm a teacher at Grover Cleveland Middle' becoming the person to save all of humanity)
This:
(Milo Thatch, Ryland Grace 🤝 Big ol' glasses that won't stay in place the entire movie)
Eccentric team of specialists surrounding the nerdy scientist are from various nations, with strong accents (so we can tell they're from various nations) and are not only united in the mission, but united in the enjoyment of taking the piss out of the nerdy scientist guy (too many examples to pick from. You know what I mean though)
Big Ship(s)
Space vs. Ocean = same thing? Kinda? Right?
The nerdy scientist guy is also a coward, but we can't really fault him because he sure is in one hell of a situation.
Nerdy Scientist meets life form/civilization previously believed not to exist, which utilizes technology thought to be impossible.
And both technologies involve crystal computers (this is not explored in the movie as much but I'm referring to both Eridians "Crystal computer brains" and their technology + Atlanteans crystal powered life-force energy and electricity)
Also both life forms are able to live much, much longer than humans on earth's surface (though for different reasons)
And the Atlanteans/Eridians learn English faster than English speakers can learn their respective languages, and are more evolved/knowledgeable in some areas, but lack some pretty important information (or rather: what we consider important)
Atlanteans have amazing technology but they can't read their own language. Eridians figured out space travel without knowing about relativity etc etc.
Plus this seems to be a running theme:
And the two main characters bond over their shared interest in learning about the other's culture and also fixing problems (but Milo is much more interested in helping the Atlanteans thrive and survive than he is in the glory of publishing his discoveries, thus proving his old "crazy" theories right...gee that sounds like another nerdy scientist I know)
Eventually, the nerdy scientist decides to stay behind, sending his findings and "team" home, and he is happier living far away in space/at the bottom of the ocean with the newly discovered civilization.
also the core thesis that trust + curiosity + kindness = survival in seemingly impossible situations/catastrophe.

Well the time came and the crue wanted bubble to listen to their ideas for the adventures
And well, here they are, working for minimum wage at spudsy
Caine feels totally good at this adventure, yep not suffering at all... But, something caught his eye
Part one || part two at the works
Hidbidchsbus yes I did lose an opportunity to draw him using his cane, (don't worry I'll make those drawings someday)
Smty tells me I have a lot of spelling mistakes but... Oh well
Finally!
Quaid returns alongside costars Alice Lee (People We Meet on Vacation) as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid (Jury Duty) as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira (Malcom in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair) as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. Season 3 kicks off with these characters figuring out their lives in the aftermath of the Brainiac saga. Clark is ready to settle down and build a future with Lois, who's worried about losing her star reporter status at The Daily Planet if they do so. Meanwhile, Kara, modeling herself after her Kryptonian cousin, is now on the hunt for an Earth mate and has her sights set on Jimmy, who's now a celebrity journalist after proving aliens exist. It's at this period of change and self-discovery that the other Supermen arrive.
Season 2 teased Hank, the future Cyborg Superman, as a handsome astronaut who doesn't like aliens and doesn't think they belong on Earth. When last we saw him, Hank served as a fighter pilot in the finale's battle over Metropolis and his aircraft was shot down. "That's not gonna improve his view of extraterrestrials," Wyatt teases. Superboy is another confirmed character arrival. He's directly inspired by the leather jacket-clad version of the '90s comics but is still a different spin. "Superboy can't just push Clark's buttons," Wyatt notes. "So Superboy's been adjusted to be more relevant to all of our characters, and then he is going to embody the tension between hope in the present and fear in the future.... He was the writers' and the artists' favorite character for the season, and we're going to complicate him a bit over the course of it." Steel/John Irons, voiced by Byron Marc Newsome in past seasons, will return but will be "more lightly involved," Wyatt discloses, because he's "less of a foil to Superman." If the show gets to season 4, "We've got plans for him," the showrunner adds. For now, season 3 will "heavily feature three of the others of the alternative Supermen from Reign," Wyatt says, including the two previously mentioned. And then there's Lex Luthor, who will be "a huge part" of the new story. He's someone who hates Superman because the hero is something he can't control.
"The future is coming always for all of us, no matter what. Whether you face that with fear or hope or courage, and how, it determines a lot about you," Wyatt explains. "Lex is all fear all the time. He's the character who most embodies that concept in the season, and he's driving it —the action thread, anyway." Season 3 will also include a light cameo from Jessica Cruz, a character who will headline her own My Adventures with Green Lantern offshoot that's in development. Wyatt is actively working on that animated series with Clogher, but says they are still in pre-production and are waiting on an official pickup. "We are just about to ship our first episode to Korea for animation, so it's gonna be a minute," he notes.
Season 4 of My Adventures With Superman is also "not technically renewed," Wyatt states. Though, when James Gunn and Peter Safran took the helm of DC Studios, he and Clogher pitched their take for seasons 3 and 4 simultaneously. "Please watch the show on Adult Swim, on Toonami, and then HBO Max, and maybe we'll get a season 4," Wyatt says. So mark your calendars: Season 3. June 13. Toonami. Midnight.
Aha, they DID pitch seasons 3 and four at the same time!
