So, fun fact, dingoes are actually just feral dogs. They’re related to the New Guinea singing dog and represent the first clade of domesticated dogs in Asia. So, the reason they look like normal dogs is that that’s…pretty much exactly what they are, with a few modifications after being largely feral for a few thousand years.
And yes, they can hybridize with other domesticated dog breeds. In fact, that’s the biggest threat to the survival of wild dingoes at the moment.
