I was bored
I'm shocked I haven't seen it yet, but God in GO3 is not the same person we were listening to in the narration of season 1. And I don't mean that they literally got a different actress to play the part, I mean that season 1 God never came across as delighting in cruelty, even when they made a cruel choice. Season 3 God didn't seem to care about anything at all, there was zero kindness to her.
I struggle to believe that the God who narratively seemed to be on board with the avoidance of the great plan, because maybe God didn't even create it at all, was suddenly extremely keen to allow the universe to be destroyed like 6 years after seeming to be very chill about it not happening.

why give me aziraphale and crowley... why make me believe that even if Iām an outsider and nobody thinks Iām important, I might find someone whoād be willing to sacrifice everything for me, just as they did for one another⦠why make them the ones whoāll save me during the darkest period⦠why make them such an important part of my life⦠and then take it away
Just a thought expeirment, trying to connect dots.

Look, if itās not written by the original author itās fanfic.
If two people wrote it together and one is dead, then itās impossible for subsequent portions to have the same authorship.
QED, Seasons 2-3 ARE, technically, fanfic. Some of 2 was quite enjoyable fanfic! But the point isā¦the point is⦠the point Iām trying to make is⦠you neednāt feel obligated to accept ANY of it as canon. Guilt free.
I think the Book of Job minisode is everything that Good Omens should be.
- Religious satire/commentary (the absurdity regarding the bet with Job, the archangels being generally clueless, the deconstruction of how to-the-letter you need to be with following the laws of religion)
- Genuinely funny (Ty Tennant having like 3 minutes of screen time and out-fruiting his dad, Jemima and her pot and wanting to be turned into a salamander, Bildad the Shuhite and all that that entails)
- an emotional, character-driven core (Aziraphale learning the limits of his own morality, the discussion of the role good and evil play in events and how each is perceived when done by different parties, learning just how similar Aziraphale and Crowley are as it pertains to personal desires (which we as the viewer know, but chronologically itās one of the first times they connect like they do)
And of course
- the undertones (Crowley tempting Aziraphale into eating which, with the way Aziraphale devours that meat, has zero chance of not being a metaphor for some kind of physical relationship; the nature of being just a little bit different than your peers, and how that affects your views of yourself; and the purely humanistic, just-this-once-everybody-lives kind of narrative that emphasizes the importance and power of familial and interpersonal relationships)
I completely agree with this! It was the best part of season 2 and got completely with Season 1 and the Book!
It makes me hate it all the more that they completely undermined Itās point about people being special individuals who canāt simply be replaced with new ones or lookalikes in the finale.
Exclusivity is up for @wiggleonzine vol 2, so I can finally post my piece for it! Aziraphale and Crowley enjoy a nice day at the beach and bask in the sun.
Comm for onxly.haze! An excuse to draw cute fluff..
The hatred of GO3 is so real. You either die on a cliffhanger or live long enough to become game of thrones

Change of Plans
So here is my first official Good Omens season 3 fix-it. What if Aziraphale had spoken his mind when Crowley asked this awful question?
This started as a Guess the Author Fic for the Alternative Rendezvous server prompt āsecondā and it evolved into a 3,500 word fix-it of seasons 2 and 3.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
(TW for directly quoting the decision scene of the finale in all Itās suicidal weirdness, but rest assured it is undone)
Crowley who asked to go off together to alpha centauri when the world was ending, Crowley "tell me you said no" when the world was ending again, but was fine with staying there when the world truly ending? I don't buy it. He wouldn't let that happen to Aziraphale, he wouldn't let him die like that
Crowley didnāt even want to fire a gun at Aziraphale on stage because he was afraid heād hurt him! He wouldnāt have asked him to be annihilated!

So I guess there's some long-ass post circulating, where somebody says they like the Good Omens ending where the protagonists (and everybody else in the universe) are disintegrated into dust, but they need everybody who's sad about that to shut up and not say anything, because sad people are ruining their enjoyment of everyone getting disintegrated. Ohhhhh..........kay?
Hey did you guys know that the good omens novel is supposed to be about the Cold War
THIS! THIS! THIS! šš»šš»šš»
So I was on a paddle boat today, the small ones you have to move with legs ya know
and I was thinking
Crowley and Aziraphale were probably on one of these in like Venice, Italy or something
but crowley would have to do all the work while aziraphale would eat biscotti and look at birds
I cant stop thinking about it and I feel like I need to draw it now
they both say they have "business" in Italy, but really it's just another convoluted plan to set up a date--
