Orbital path of asteroid near miss in 2002. Yah, that’s how close we came to nuclear winter and possible total destruction.
A visitor.
It’s like it’s trying so hard to hit us and it just can’t do it
All I can imagine is every astronomer drinking heavily from 2002-2003 like “There it goes–OH FUCK IT’S COMING BACK”
Thanks moon <3
Moon: YEET
The moon threw it away yay moon
the moon was having none of it
The best part about this? They took a picture (read: spectrographic analysis) of the thing and found out it wasn’t an asteroid at all. It was a piece of a Saturn V rocket, discarded in space decades ago and set into an orbit around the sun. That’s right, this motherfucker spent 30 years orbiting the sun, waiting for a chance to have its revenge on the petty humans who abandoned it in the void.
So that weirdly common Star Trek trope in which one of our space probes comes back to fuck us up turned out to be true
The beast is called "tbh"
Thank you for putting that in quotes, or I would’ve read that as you casually unleashing a beast upon me.
Probably my favorite legend of Zelda fact is that Link was left handed until twilight princess when it released on both wii and GameCube and on wii it had motion controls. And since 90% of the population is right handed they just kinda… flipped the game. So if you play Twilight Princess on GameCube Link is left handed and if you play it on wii he’s right handed. Skyward sword was made for motion control combat and evidently they didn’t wanna spend the development time making a left handed mode so Link has been right handed ever since.
You can see this change in the official artwork.
Original 1986 game:
Four swords:
Ocarina of time:
Wind waker:
Twilight princess:
All of these guys use their swords, bows, or conductors batons with their left hands.
And then you get to official art for skyward sword and breath of the wild:
These guys are right handed.
The change is also consistent in amiibo figurines.
Majoras mask and twilight princess link here have their swords in their left hands while tears of the kingdom links sword is positioned to be grabbed with his right hand.
I’ll be honest idk why they didn’t make him go back to being left handed in breath of the wild or have a left handed mode in at least twilight princess because the flipped left handed version of the game already existed but. Decisions were made.
Oh yeah as people in the notes are pointing out, let me be clear. In Twilight Princess they flipped the entire game. Even the in-game map is mirrored. Not just the player character. They flipped the whole game just to make Link right handed.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
