Face-Off

Last night in bed, for some random reason, I visualized a face-off between Obama and McCain (this is the influence of politics here getting to me), except that this face-off entailed no words - just a death stare contest. The problem was that every time I tried to see McCain’s face in my head, Steve Martin’s face would appear. It was so frustrating! A fuzzy image of McCain would be on the brink of apparition (you know, like on the computer, when an image is blurry but you know that in a couple of seconds it will crystallize), and then Steve Martin’s clown-around boingy face with a tacked-on grin and all would pop right in like a jack-in-the-box springing to life. And it kept on happening this morning too. The harder I try, the more I fail. Oy vey, Steve Martin.
