far far away idol would never happen now
crazy to me that some people have never experimented with their gender presentation. like not even for a costume or anything. its like hearing someones never been swimming like well i guess you dont NEED to do that to live a full and rich life but i think youre missing out.
what is the first thing you remember writing for fun? As in, not for school, but because you wanted to? (Might not have been for fun, might be spite or revenge but I'm hoping you had some fun with it)
I tried to write my first novel (a YA fantasy) at 10 or 11. I took another stab at it around 13 (another YA fantasy) and then a third try when I was 22 (a grimdark fantasy before there was such a thing). I never completed any of them, but I had fun working on them... until I didn't.
It took me until my 50s to finally finish my first novel (THE GOBLIN CROWN, Amazon.com: The Goblin Crown: Billy Smith and the Goblins, Book 1: 9781681626123: Wolfe, Robert Hewitt, Fowler, Tom: Books) and get it published. Novels are hard, man.
I do think the one I worked on in my 20s might be worth digging up and dusting off if I can find it. So thanks for making me think of that!

awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
that’s not the whole flag, now is it
hey staff what the fuck
hey staff don't you think you're being too on-the-nose
HEY STAFF DONT YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING TOO ON-THE-NOSE

Story time:
In middle school biology, we did an experiment. We were given yams, which we would sprout in cups of water. We then had to make hypotheses about how the yams would grow, based on descriptions of yam plants in our books, and make notes of our observations as they grew.
Here’s what was supposed to happen: we were supposed to see that the actual growth of the plant did not resemble our hypotheses. We were then supposed to figure out that these were, in fact, sweet potatoes.
What actually happened was that every single student in every single class lied in their notes so that their observations perfectly matched their hypotheses. See, everyone assumed the mismatch meant they had done something wrong in the process of growing the plant or that they had misunderstood the dichotomous key or the plant identification terminology. And, thanks to the wonders of a public school education, everyone assumed the wrong results would get us a failing grade. We were trying to pass. We didn’t want to get bitched out by the teacher. Curiosity, learning, science - that had nothing to do with why we were sitting in that classroom. So we all lied.
The teacher was furious. She tried to fail every student, but the administration stepped in and told her she wasn’t allowed to because a 100% fail rate is recognized as a failure of the teacher, not the class. It wasn’t even her fault, really, though her being a notorious hard-ass didn’t help. It was a failure of the entire educational system.
So whenever I see crap like Elizabeth Holmes’s blood test scam or pharmaceutical trials which are unable to be replicated or industry-funded research that reaches wildly unscientific conclusions, I just remember those fucking sweet potatoes. I remember that curiosity dies when people are just trying to give their superiors the “right” answers, so they can get the grade, get the job, get the paycheck. It’s not about truth when it’s about paying rent. There’s no scientific integrity if you can’t control for human desperation.
No one was ready for the real deal.
(Also, I don't think eridians ever considered that aliens could be evil and hellbent on taking over Erid. It's mostly us, humans, who worry about that sort of nonsense.)
really funny to meet a genderless alien and make them your gender out of convenience and then fall in love and now you’re gay. you made yourself be gay.
in most cases (ie the left hand of darkness) there’s some amount of gender imagery that is latched on to to justify the arbitrary gendering. in project hail mary he meets a rock and is like this is a boy rock because i’m a boy too :)
the sims will never not be one of the funniest games on the planet
billie you'll never guess what happened to GoS
I JUST FUCKING SAW, BITCH.
Okay okay, wait let me collect myself.
First, let me say that I'm actually so sad to see it go. It's been a huge part of my time in the sims community. It's a shame that was so sudden. I really loved the community and I think it's a shame that it happened like it did.
With that out of the way.
BITCH, I TOLD YOU. I TOLD ALL OF YOU. I told ALL you motherfuckers exactly what would happen and everyone bitched like "Oh!! Well, WHY would you do this? Especially when it's not like GOS is closing down anytime soon???"
I got hate mail for months. Bitches poured out of the woodwork like "Mmmm I've always hated Billie, just another thing he's done to add him to my shit list" Then HL bitched at me and acted like the scrape cost him a huge amount of case in data usage when that shit was fucking cents on the dollar. I even offered to pay HL back the like 2 dollars that it *may* have costed him to scape.
Well GUESS who fucking took their ball and went home with very little warning?
This is the entire site's worth of custom content scraped. There are a few things that you need to know.- This is not checked to see if depe
Here's the fucking scrape. It's missing 2024-2026. I be that stuff can be scraped as well though, but since it'll have to be done through Wayback it's gonna take time.
