i see hcs of waterboy was in a toxic relationship and his toxic ex conditioned him to be submissive\do whatever they want and it made me think of the complete reverse\opposite for waterbae. flambae finally found the love of his life in waterboy after a series of one night stands and short\bad relationship. he really wants his relationship with waterboy to work and is afraid of accidentally driving him away, so he does stuff he thinks will make waterboy happy. during this time, waterboy has been nothing but sincere and loving but he does notice flambae acting different than usual

while i see flambae as a guy who doesn't take shit from anyone, i can also see him trying his best to keep waterboy with him.

he's very scared of loneliness. he's scared of fucking it up and waterboy leaving him, so he just... does whatever herm wants. herm can suggest a date idea for them, and chad will immediately agree. he gives him gifts a lot. when it comes to sex, he's surprisingly obedient. he's just not acting like before. not like chad.

herman notices that and he's very confused. he liked chad for... him, not for whatever he's trying to do right now. he brings it up with him one time and flambae gets even more confused. he asks if that's not what waterboy wanted. herm says no, that's not what he wanted. he wants chad to act like himself, not trying to be on his best behavior around him.

chad says that it's not something he's used to. people don't like him, they don't like his actual attitude. herm says that he does. he can handle chad's "attitude"!

chad huffs and tells herm he's stupid.

herm just smiles because that's finally his chad coming back.

it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.
