This place will primarily be a snz, whump, hurt/comfort, and sickfic centric blog, please ignore if thatâs not your jam.
The whole sick thing is less of a kink for me and more of a weird emotional thing, and I have a soft spot for cheesy tropes and overly sappy stuff, I may be cringe, but I am free. Youâll probably see weird stuff/characters here. Big fan of robots and nasty monster dudes, including the genuinely fucked up kind. Iâm also a fan (not supporter!!!) of villains/antagonists, most of which are assholes, if not legitimately deplorable and problematic, take this as a warning if thatâs something you donât vibe with.
Iâm super inexperienced with writing and donât post much, but I have fun and try my best.
Iâm open to chatting about headcanons and whatnot as long as it isnât super nsfw, but please no irl stuff! Keep it fictional.
A thing I love in fiction specifically: Stress sickness. Not getting a cold because of stress but just the general malaise and unwell feeling that comes after a long, busy, difficult week.
A character who's dragging because they finally have the time to be exhausted and they come home ready to fall into bed. Getting little chills because being so tired makes them feel cold. Feeling so fatigued they waver on their feet. Being so spent that they have to stay in bed for a day. Saying they "just don't feel right."
And the caretaking potential. A friend or partner dotes on them while they recover, or guides them to bed, cuddles with them, encourages them to rest (whether they do or can is up for debate). It's just so good.
No spoilers for the games or the show, this isnât about any ghoul in particular.
Mess warning. Ghouls are a little gory and gross by nature and have skeleton/hole noses. Read at your discretion.
- The lack of a nose definitely makes them more sensitive overall, to literally everything. Dust, pollen, fur, strong scents, spices etc.
- Having no nose also causes their sneezes to be particularly violent, messy, and hard to stifle. Producing a massive amount of spray if they donât manage to cover.
- It also makes having a runny nose absolute hell. Constantly having to sniffle, frequently dabbing at their already raw and sensitive nasal area with a cloth, and waking up with mess running down their faces.
- Because of that, a lot of ghouls carry something to use as a handkerchief. Though Iâd imagine with the amount of dust and debris in the wasteland air, needing to blow your nose a lot is something everyone would have to deal with, but ghouls especially have it rough.
- Getting some sort of irritant lodged in there isnât a rare occurrence. Dealing with something stuck in their nose all day, having to endure the constant tickling sensation until it finally triggers a fit.
- Though ghoulifacation may have given their immune system a huge boost and made them immune to most of the viruses that affect humans, they have their own set of infectious diseases and can very much still get sick.
- Feral ghouls are drawn to heat, so I feel like itâs not out of the box to say that ghouls have some sort of temperature regulation issue or are just sensitive to the cold. Their immune systems take a hit during the chillier months, with colds and âghoul fluâ spreading around settlements.
- A lot of ghouls already suffer from chronic aches and joint pain, but it gets amplified when theyâre sick, becoming a constant sensation thatâs impossible to ignore, the only real sliver of relief being heat and a soft place to rest.
- Theyâre particularly prone to sinus infections, a minor cold could easily develop into something much worse if they donât take care of themselves, or just unlucky.
My absolute number one is a nice pitiful whimper or moan đ„°
Personally, especially depending on the character, a huge fan of âfuck.â Even better if itâs in the middle of a fit they canât quite control <3 Iâll also take variations like âfor fuckâs sake.â
âNot againâ or âc-canât stopââ
âFucking finallyâ
âOw. That one actually hurt.â
âUghâŠâ or âugh, godâŠâ
âNnghâŠâ or a congested ânguhhâŠâ
âSorry!â or even smth formal like an âapologies for that, dearâ
âOh, donât get too hot and bothered over just thatâŠâ
I canât believe I didnât consider this before. Iâve posted before about how vampires having less blood in their bodies could make them worse at self-regulating temperature.
BUT
Blood is also very, very important to the immune system⊠perhaps leaving vampires more susceptible to illness. đ
they come into the office that morning with a tissue pressed to their nose and a big box of tissues under their arm. "bordig" they say congestedly, followed by a few thick sniffles as they walk past you to their cubicle. you hear them tear open the box and pluck a couple tissues from it, before unleashing a mighty blow. the blow is long, gurgly and sends them into a bit of a coughing fit. they sniffle again, it sounds as if that humongous blow didn't even make a dent in the congestion that is obviously plugging up their nose. you spend the rest of the work day listening to their stuffy sneezes, thick sniffles, gurgly nose blows and congested coughs, along with groans, moans and mumbled whining about their "miserable cold".
Guys guys guys what if Ast/arionâs allergic to incense đ„°đ„°đ„° especially if itâs incense for a god of the sun/light if his vampiric body wants to reject the sunlight? Maybe he comes across some incense for Lathander in a temple or in a very very devout worshipperâs manor and is stifling sneezes as silently as he can the whole time.
Heâs so annoyed about it and tries to hide it from the party but eventually the sneezes get too strong for him to hold back or stifle. After getting 0 relief the whole time, he canât help it and dissolves into an extremely desperate fit thatâto his embarrassment and discomfortâgets the entire partyâs attention.
Maybe he gets a âwhoa, whoaaa. You okay there, soldier? Just breathe, weâve got youâ from Kar/lach.
He tries to reply, âI donât need to breathe, Iâm already dead. I just canât stopâ but his words are largely lost amongst the sneezing and his eyes are watering too much to deliver a glare with any real bite (haha bite)
So she just turns to Shadow/heart like âhe canât be breathing enough like this. :( You work with this incense stuff, can you help him?â
Shadow/heart luckily explains that heâs not in any real danger as long as he doesnât hurt himself from sneezing too hard and says something along the lines of âperhaps youâd be more suited in the shadows of Shar, Ast/arionâ which earns a âfuck offâ from the sneezy vampire in question
Iâm gonna be saying this a lot about my rogue boy but it could even risk getting him caught. đ So much of his role in the party is to be silent and stealthy. How frustrated would he be if he canât keep himself quiet because of a few godsdamned (really godsblessed) candles?
Update because Iâm excited: I am in fact cooking. The brainrot is letting me actually write fic ideas,,, Revolutionary,,, Iâm thriving. Iâm setting the fic at a masquerade ball at a devout Lath/ander worshipperâs manor. And yes, this is absolutely my excuse to put the blorbos in masquerade outfits.
Feel free to suggest any outfit ideas for them đ Iâd love to hear them. The group Iâm going with is Ast/arion, Kar/lach, Shadow/heart, and T/av. Iâm going with a very gender neutral T/av (partially for universality of T/avs, also because my own T/av is non-binary â€ïž).
So far what Iâm thinking is Shadow/heart in a long, black-to-purple gradient dress with silver embossing and an outer layer thatâs somewhat transparent and a matching mask thatâs really more of a veil over the eyes with similar transparent fabric. Really going for that mysterious veil type imagery? Long teardrop-shaped silver earrings with amethyst gemstones and deep gray flats with silver accents.
Kar/lach, I think the others got her to wear a brown lace-up shirt and pants that cover her entire legs and they (affectionately) called it a win for dressing for high-ish society, though they had to enchant the garments in flame-resistant magic and sheâs still wearing her favorite boots, worn as they are. Her mask is made out of faded brown leather straps.
T/av, Iâm unsure about, maybe a flowy forest green lace-up blouse and pants combo with a golden belt at the waist and strapped golden boots? Their mask is made of faux green leaves over golden branches stemming stemming from a golden line along the bridge of their nose.
Ast/arion, I imagine in a deep red shirt with a frilled collar underneath exquisite black robes with gold detailing. His mask is black lace adorned with gold. I was originally going to put him in white buuuut if they might be sneaking around the place, maybe black would be better than bright white and I do have a weakness for people in all black. Though he doesnât tend to wear a looot of black in his usual outfits. Thoughts?
One coworker had so far managed to avoid the cold spreading around the office, until one day you hear them let out a harsh sneeze followed by a grumbled âgod damn itâ
So I wrote a very, very self indulgent 3k words Ast/arion x T/av snzfic. Iâm. So embarrassed about posting this so please be gentle đ
Inspired by @swerveintoshameâs genius post about Ast/arion snz, including getting sick from crossing cold running water and saying itâs all âdreadfulâ lol.
CW: Blood (vampire drinking it), NSFW though not actually very explicit, snzing on someone (no mess otherwise), mild BDSM sub/dom play, fet!T/av
Other things to expect: Illness (cold), inducing including with feathers, mention of possible contagion, some h/c and general softness, starts off not NSFW at all and then escalates
I hope you enjoy reading~!
Something was wrong with Astarion. Hopefully not dangerously wrong or fatally wrong, maybe just⊠off. The kind of âoffâ gut feeling that served Tav well in their perilous adventures, though they could not quite figure out what was bothering them. In those adventures, if they were faced with a mystery to unravel, they would simply start with listing clues. Once they had made a list of relevant information in their mind, they would connect the pieces together. Perhaps it was only natural that their mind followed that well-trodden path as they sat in their campâs tent, worrying about their vampiric companion.
Clue #1: He had been a little quieter throughout the day, opting to roll his eyes from a distance at his traveling companionsâ follies rather than to verbally inform them of his displeasure in his usual very polite and certainly-not-whiny-in-the-slightest manner. Being the responsible party leader they were, Tav had noticed this difference and made a mental note of it. If Astarion had noticed their concerned eyes flicker to him and back to their conversation partners, he did not comment on it. Still, it was strange.
Clue #2: Though Tav would not dare call him out on it, he seemed almost weaker than usual, especially as the day progressed. At first, he kept up his usual pace, but by midday he had seemed wearier, as if every attempt to run from town to town with the group or pierce deep into the throat of someone who deserved to die was⊠draining his energy much more than usual. His agile approach to battle had somewhat calmed and although he seemed more keen on efficiency today, there were few foes he made short work of himself. Perhaps he had simply started with less energy than his typical exuberance. Very strange.
Clue #3: Ever since yesterday, Astarion had seemed rather colder than usualânot just in temperament but in temperature. He had slept slightly closer to the campfire than his typically preferred position and had lingered conveniently near the fireplace in a mansion they were investigating (and certainly not looting) in the early evening. Tav could have sworn they saw him shiver in the cold winter wind once or twice. Strange, though they supposed it made sense.
After all, he had volunteered himself to disarm every single trap placed on either side of a riverbed by a fish-feasting fey who was not exactly the sharpest istik hunter Laeâzel had encountered. Of course, he complained constantly about all the dreadful things he does for his companions, but Tav was confident that he was actually quite pleased to have a genuine excuse to cross running water multiple times. The only downside was that he ended up soaking wet in the brunt of winter with no real time to dry off or change into warmer clothing as they were soon after dragged into more pressing matters for the rest of the day. So, perhaps the chill had merely clung to his bones through the following day. Itâs funnyâTav would worry he had caught a chill if he wasnât a vampire spawn. Wait.
Pursing their lips as they pondered the matter, Tav ran through all of their arcane knowledge on vampire spawn physiology. Oh. All right. Well, this should be interesting one way or another, they thought to themselves, thanking the gods that it was likely a temporary affliction rather than an effect of the tadpole. At the same time, they felt a sinking feeling at what they must do with this conclusion. It wouldnât be easy, but then again, it never was with Astarion, even though Tav found a smile tugging at the corner of their lips at the mere thought of more trouble with him.
When the crescent moon rose to a field of twinkling stars and bathed the campsite in its gentle silver light, Astarion knelt at Tavâs bedside for their agreed-upon nightly feeding. With silent, delicate touch, he held their cheek in one hand and shoulder in his other, ensuring that they stayed still. With his tongue tracing his fangs in hunger, he leaned down over their slumbering form and brought his fangs closer to their neck. He could practically taste their sweet, succulent blood already⊠before their eyes opened to meet his hungry gaze with an amused smile.
âAh, youâre still awake. Apologies, my dear, I thought you had already fallen asleep,â Astarion whispered, gently brushing some of their hair back behind their ear. Tav would be lying if they said they didnât have to refocus their attention to their mission.
âI wanted to talk to you in private. I was worried youâd find some excuse to run off, so I thought we could talk over drinks,â Tav replied, sitting themselves up comfortably.
âTricky little devil,â he murmured with a small smirk. Tav couldnât tell if he was annoyed or impressed. Knowing him, likely a mixture of the two. âFine. What is it youâre so desperate to talk about, Darling?â
âYou.â
âA rather fine subject,â Astarion began with a fair share of theatrics that earned a coveted Tav eye roll, âI suppose I can forgive your deception for flattery after all.â
âYouâre sick, arenât you?â
The vampire steels himself against the question for a moment, attempting to play it off as confusion, but Tav sees through it. âPerhaps youâve had a bit too much to drink tonight, Dear. I havenât the slightest clue what would make you think that,â he lied, though congestion was starting to make itself clear in his voice.
âYou mightâve fooled the others, but not me. You fell ill after yesterdayâs incident with the river, didnât you?â Tav held his gaze with a sincerity that was difficult to deflect. âIt must be tiring to hide it all day. So donât. I can hear it in your voice and I can see it in your eyes.â
A long pause followed. âI admit I may have endured some rather irritating sniffles here or there, but Iâm feeling better already,â he reassured with the most confident smirk he could produce and a grand hand gesture, âIâm still in excellent combat condition, so thereâs no need to worry about my little affliction slowing down our plans. You need me, after all, so Iâll simply have to bear my burden for another day, if that.â
âIâm not going to barricade you off by yourself because youâre sick, Astarion, and I donât bring this up because I think youâre not useful enough. I want to help you.â The words were painfully direct and Tav bit the inside of their cheek, hoping that they would manage to get through to him without scaring him into closing himself off even further than he usually did.
He must have been feeling truly miserable because rather than closing himself off even more, his facade crumbled then and there. âYouâre such a sweetheart. But I suppose I knew that already,â he admitted, voice tinged with pleasant surprise from the touching revelation. âIââ Before he could continue, his words caught in his throat, sending a deep rumbling cough echoing throughout his body from his weary lungs. Although he was caught too off guard to cover it at first, he swiftly retrieved a white handkerchief from his pocket and held it against his mouth with one hand.
âShit,â Tav cursed under their breath in sympathy as they pulled their sick vampire closer to lean against them and rubbed circles in his back. After the coughing fit finally subsided, Tav could hearâand feelâhim taking shaky, shuddering breaths against them. âI thought vampires didnât get out of breath,â they teased.
âItâs n-ahhhuh not that, D-Dear,â he stuttered.
Confused and concerned, Tav gently moved Astarion back upright to get a better look at him, hands lingering on his forearms.
Oh. Oh, no. Things were never simple with Astarion, perhaps it was only fair that they were never simple with Tav either.
Even with his handkerchief covering much of the lower half of his face, Tav could still see his slender nose twitching in irritation, his damp eyelashes fluttering half-closed, and his eyebrows drawing together. Sitting so close together in the dim firelight with no one else awake, he was going to sneeze. Fuck, Tav thought, butterflies instantly taking flight in their stomach. They had never seen Astarion sneeze before and thought perhaps he never did, but now they were about to see it up-close.
Or at least, they would if he could actually sneeze right then. To both of their embarrassment, the pale elf seemed to reach the cusp of relief many times, but not quite be able to sneeze.
âGods, this is ge-heh!-getting old quickly. I suppose this is recompense for denying mysehhh-self the urge all day. Still, itâs ra-heh-hih! Hedt-! Ugh⊠rather annoying to need to sneeze so badly and not be able to,â he whined.
âSometimes that, um, urge is particularly agitated after a bad fit of coughing. It could also be the campfireâs smoke making it worse, maybe, if you already⊠need to do that from falling ill,â Tav offered clumsily, fidgeting with their sleeves absentmindedly and hoping he wouldnât notice their⊠interest in the matter.
âWhatever the cause, itâs hahh-hih! Dreadful.â
âI could⊠help you, if youâd like that?â Tav asked, panic only swelling at the thought.
âHelp?â Astarion wondered aloud, trying to figure out what that might entail for a moment, but then deciding that as long as it freed him from this shameful and unsatisfying experience, it was worth a shot. âSure, why not?â
âAll right,â Tav breathed, searching through their trusty backpack for a moment before finding something that might work: a long, thin yet still fluffy, white feather quill. With a shaky hand, they lightly pulled Astarionâs hand away from his face. âThis might, um, tickle, but thatâs the goal, I guess,â they warned.
Receiving a nod of agreement, Tav began. As a force of habit from⊠other activities, they sat on his lap, straddling him. Next, they placed one hand on the side of his cheek, fingertips brushing against his white curls as they held him still. Finally, they brought the quill up to his reddening, irritated nose.
âTell me if this gets uncomfortable or if you want me to stop,â they murmured, and Astarionâs heart softened at their⊠constant consideration for his feelings and wants.
âOf course.â
And with that, Tav started lightly, brushing the feather along the outside of his nose, tracing around the rises and falls of the troublesome little thing. To their surprise, even this small act seemed to almost push him over the brink for a moment, Astarionâs chest filling with a deep, imminent breath⊠but then returning to shallow gasps and ticklish twitches. His nose must have been extremely sensitive.
âHuhhhhdtâ! Nnh, not q-quite, Darling. I think itâs going to need something a bit m-more.â
âSeems so,â Tav hummed in acknowledgment. They flitted the feather back and forth along the rims of his nostrils in figure eights, feeling warmth spread through their body at the dangerous hitches he gave.
âM-more,â he all but moaned in desperation for relief.
They slid the quill into his already-trembling nostril, twirling it about, brushing every last millimeter with tickly feather fluff.
âG-godsâ huhhh-hih! Hehht! Hihhh!â
Without a conscious thought, Tav found their hand move from his cheek to the back of his head, grasping tightly yet gently at his hair. âFuck,â Tav breathed, no longer able to disguise their excitement. Curiosity flickered in Astarionâs beautiful, tensed face, but he was undone before he could utter a word. Tav swirled the feather deeper into the reaches of his quivering oh-so-sensitive nostril and even with a nose that was as stubborn as he was himself, he crossed the point of no return.
However, that didnât mean he couldnât have a little fun with it, with Tav. In one swift motion, he pulled them against him such that their chests pressed into each otherâTav yelped softly in surpriseâand they could feel every breath shake both of their bodies as he raised his handkerchief to his nose and mouth with his free hand.
âHehhhhht-hih! Hihhhdt-ktssschâuh! Ihht-ktdschhhuu! Hehh⊠hidt-ihdtsssshh! Hehdtâ!! Huh-hihh! Ihsssshu! Tsssch! Ktssch!⊠Ungh, gods,â he sneezed over and over again, each release sending a shiver down Tavâs spine. It was ticklish, wet, and breathy with an almost hissing quality. He hated losing control over himself, but he was so desperate for relief that he didnât care anymore, letting himself let go of everything heâd been resisting throughout the day. The display left them both panting for breath.
âIs it, um, bad to say âbless youâ to a vampire?â Tav quipped, earning a laugh from both parties.
âItâs quite all right, although I do think Iâve been blessed plenty enough already with this little discovery,â Astarion practically purred, a grin playing across his lips. âWho would have thought that my favorite treat has such an adorable interest. Look at you, cheeks flushed crimson and heart pounding over a few sneezes,â he giggled, âpoor dear, so worked up over me.â
âItâs not why I pressed you on this, I really did intend to help,â Tav began guiltily, averting their eyes to various spots on the ground.
âI know, darling, I know. No need to worry, itâs simply an opportunity to have some more fun,â he reassured, tilting their chin up with his hand. âAfter all, if Iâm going to feel so dreadful,â he paused, punctuating his words with a few light coughs into his fist. âIt only makes sense that I should have some fun with it if you still want to talk over drinks, no?â
Swallowing heavily, Tav nodded. âI do still want to. If youâre sure.â
âVery.â
And with that, Tav pulled the collar of their shirt down to further expose their neck and collarbone. With one hand on their chest, Astarion pushed them down onto their bedroll, softly enough to not hurt them, but rough enough for the way they liked. Following them down, he pinned their wrists down above them with one hand and held the back of their neck with the other. Piercing their neck, he drank indulgently, letting their life force replenish his.
âYou feel warmer than usual. Do you have a fever?â Tav asked, eyes scanning his face.
Licking the blood from his lips and muffling a few wet coughs into his handkerchief, he replied, âFunny, I was about to say you felt cold, so itâs quite likely.â
âIn that case, drink a little extra tonight. You need it more than I do,â Tav offered, their kindness warming Astarionâs unbeating heart.
âThank you, my dear.â He paused to savor their blood as if sipping a fine vintage. Tav heard his breath catch and felt the shaky exhale against their neck and his grip tighten on their wrists as his body tensed and shuddered for a moment beforeâ âHhidt-ksh!... Ihhdtschh!â he sneezed against them.
Pulling himself upright onto his knees, he swept his handkerchief out of his pockets and over his nose before the fit finished, attempting to apologize but struggling to get the words out between itchy sneezes. âAhhh-huh! Apologies, I- hih! Hih! Itssschu! Hah-huhâtssschâah! I didnât mean to snee-hihhhâsneezeonyou ktssschâhuh! Though I can if you like that.â
With a genuine whimper, Tav looped an arm around his neck and gently tugged him back down on top of them. âI do. I really, really do.â Their lips met each other for a moment, Tav starting to enjoy the metallic taste in the traces of their own blood. âPlease.â The word fell simply out of their mouth. Astarion chuckled darkly.
âPlease what?â
âDo it again.â
âSneeze, Darling?â They could hear the smirk in his voice, playing with them, even though just hearing him say the word in a congested whisper was enough to drive them crazy. âI want to hear you say it. Beg for it.â
âPlease sneeze for me.â
âThatâs my good little pet,â he murmured, running his fingertips delicately across their lips. âAll right, but only because youâve asked so nicely. My nose has been bothering me all day, after all.â He leaned in close to their ear. âIt wonât even take much to set it off. Just the slightest touch,â he whispered, dragging one of his fingernails softly along the bottom of his nostrils, âWill make meâhih!â They felt his eyelashes flutter against their skin as he moved his face down to their collarbone. âS-so sn-huh!-sneezyâ iht-tdssschu! Ugh, bless me, Darling.â It wasnât an exclamation, it was a command.
âBless you,â Tav moaned, rocking their body up against his as they heard a telltale quiver in his breath.
âHeh-hih! Dhtsssch! Iktsssch! Ihâtssschâuu!â he sneezed against their bare skin before sinking his teeth back into it, draining them of as much blood as would be safe. Once that limit had been reached, they pulled apart, laying next to each other on Tavâs bedroll.
âYou know, while I do adore an element of risk, itâs quite likely youâll catch this from me,â Astarion admitted.
âI donât mind,â Tav insisted, âIâd probably catch it from taking care of you anyways, if youâd let me.â And there was that tenderness again that melted every last particle of frost in Astarionâs heart.
âMaybe just for now,â he agreed with a small, hesitant smile, âThat sounds⊠nice.â
âNice and fun, huh? Iâm getting to be quite the catch,â they teased playfully.
âWell, if you had told me it would have been this fun, I would have gotten myself sick sooner,â he quipped in response, smile widening as they laughed in the starlight.
