That was our dad he was slagging off or don’t you care?!

It’s the first day back to school for the kids. Things don’t go well for the boys when a trio of teens led by Dominic Skelton taunt them about having a light and Jack being in the nick. As this is Andy, his temper surfaces and he uses his fists while Robert just watches on. Bev breaks up the tussle after which Andy skives off the rest of school. Back at home, Andy is adamant to Kathy about not going back to school, full stop but by end of day looks to relent. Robert himself is fed about Kathy and Jack always worrying about poor Andy but what about him? (he ain’t wrong is he?)

Kathy: …Don’t you think we’ve enough trouble with your dad locked away and the trial coming up without you two at each other’s throats all the time. We should be trying to keep this… together not fighting between yourselves.

Robert: He’s the one fighting. But you don’t see that, do ya? It’s all poor ol’ Andy can’t cope or poor ol’ Andy’s upset. I’m upset too but nobody seems to care about that. I’m trying to keep it all together and I’m getting all the flack. Maybe you should think about the effects it’s having on me for once. At least I’m his son.
