A little preview (kinda) for Chapter 12 of my fanfic titled Lament on AO3.

Xiao stood in the clearing, the crisp summer air greetings him like an old friend. As he walked, the warm breeze soothed over his bare skin like a mother.

His fingers brushed through the overgrown shrubs that lined the trail to where the two had agreed to meet.

When he reached the end, the moon was full and high in the sky. Across a field of freshly ripened strawberries, there lay a blanket checkered with a wine-and-cheese pattern.

On it, there sat Venti. His brow was furrowed. He was talking his frustrations to the wind as he tried to unscrew a bottle of champagne.

Xiao felt his heart warm at the sight. He stood on the hill away from Venti until the other noticed him.

Venti brightened at first, but soon his face scrunched up and he yelled, "Hey, why are you standing there?! Help me!"

Dutifully, Xiao sighed exasperatedly and walked to his lover. There, he unscrewed the bottle with little effort.

"Don't tell you were standing there for too long," Venti whined, running his fingers along Xiao's arm. It felt nice.

"It wasn't long," Xiao started, "maybe 2 minutes."

He smirked, and Venti pouted. He rose in protest and Xiao rose with him.

Just as Venti was about to let him have it, Xiao grabbed his waist and pulled him in. He smiled into Venti's neck.

"I'm really glad I met you."

Venti grabbed into him too.

"I know."

I'm here to strike fear into the hearts of the locals with this recipe!

3 cups of maple syrup

1 cup of sugar

4½ cups of vanilla extract

3 packages of hot dogs

6 large bananas

2 bottles of hot sauce

1 pound of macaroni

1 pot of boiling water

Instructions:

Use water to boil macaroni and hot dogs, make a sauce by combining vanilla extract, hot sauce and maple syrup in a bowl, cut the bananas into coins, cut hot dogs into coins, put macaroni in a bowl, top with sauce, hot dogs and bananas

I swear to God if anyone tries this, I need to know what it tastes like
