Lindy West discusses "Shout Your Abortion," a book based on the 2015 movement of people sharing their abortion experiences and using truth to combat anti-choice rhetoric.
Abortion is a responsible choice.
There’s nothing wrong with not being ready to carry a pregnancy to term.
Only you know your limits and situation best; no one else.
....anyways idc if “pro-choice” = “pro-abortion”.
let’s stop stigmatizing abortion.
its a normal medical procedure.
Women denied abortions had more anxiety a week later than women who got abortions.
This Academy Award-nominated film features compelling first person accounts which reveal the physical, legal, and emotional consequences during the era when abortion was a criminal act. Remembrances include those of women who experienced illegal abortions, doctors who risked imprisonment and loss of their licenses for providing illegal abortions, and individuals who broke the law by helping women find safe abortions.
The Republicans are going to try to pass HR36 through the House on October 3rd.
Call, e-mail, tweet, facebook, fax your representatives about how HR36 is not acceptable!

Plenty of science is out there has debunked the “20 week pain capability” junk that anti-choicers are trying to foist on us. I have a handy-dandy “Informative Links” page for anyone interested.
Regardless as to when fetuses may feel pain, though, that doesn’t supersede the pregnant person’s rights.
We don’t force people to donate organs, despite whether someone may live or die without a functioning kidney; we shouldn’t force pregnant people through pregnancy.
Even the UN has stated restrictions to legal abortion access - to the point of making it inaccessible - brings up concerns on their Human Rights panels, which deals with torture.
So, #NIXHR36. It’s absolute shit.
This was introduced into the House around June.
To provide for parental notification and intervention in the case of an unemancipated minor seeking an abortion.
It’d become a federal law, instead of decided state-by-state. Some states already have this law.
The more restrictions we put on abortion - or the ability to access abortion - the worse off we are. People deserve the right to decide what’s best for their reproductive health.
It hasn’t gone much further, but keep an eye on it.
