Just a curious thought…how did anyone conquer their mental fears? Like, how did you beat that little voice inside your head who kept on saying “You can’t do it?”
I couldn’t even do it. I’m still scared. Can anyone help?
The clock said 11:00pm and both of us were yawning. "I'm ready to go, but can we still try the bike?" I asked eagerly. I've been so antsy when it comes to being physically active since my knee injury and surgery, and I wanted to see what my knee could handle. "Oh, yes!"
We walked downstairs and Rae unlocked her bike. "You be good to my Meghan", she told it as we wheeled it onto the street. I put my hand on both handles and hesitated. "Ahhhhhhhhh!" flew through my lips with excitement and nervousness and I stepped over the bike with my right leg. My left leg went to pedal forward and I fumbled, unsure about how my right leg would react. I switched and put my right leg forward and pushed the pedal.
I WAS MOVING!
It was happening.
"OH MY GOD, I'M RIDING A BIKE!" I screamed with excitement to Rae, tears bursting from my eyes and I zig zagged across her quiet street. "YAY!!!" she yelled back with equal fervor. I did a few circles and rode up next to her for a long embrace.
"I'M SO HAPPY!"
"ME TOO!"
I did a few more circles, just to make sure this was actually happening; that it wasn't some fluke.
It wasn't.
Went for a super short 10 min run and tbh it was the happiest 10 minutes of these past few weeks...hopefully on the mend!!
1.5 years post-op for ACL tear in my left leg. Now my right knee is feeling weird. It feels as though the knee cap is loose or maybe rubbing something wrong? That's the only way I can describe it. I want to run but when I do it becomes painful in my hamstrings. I'm thinking that my hamstrings are weak? Has anyone else experienced something like this?
I just want to be able to run again :(
I miss running...something I would ha never said 9 months ago.
I miss my beach runs soo bad! But it's going to take loads of patience and desire to recover. I plan on coming back strong! :)
Ugh I'm so over basketball right now like can it just end my knees can't take it anymore
