Does anyone have books/resources on AuDHD? And I mean like specifically audhd, together, not neurodivergence as a whole or one or the other. Even better if it is in women/afabs
I just really want to learn more about myself

Hey, I think either you or one of your followers posted about it before, but what's that one help book with the cleaning/organizing tips for people with ADHD? I'm having trouble remembering it, and unfortunately tumblr's not letting me search on your blog
Ah, good old tumblr. I'll avoid adding links this time in the hopes Tumblr won't hide it from the search.
The book I recommend fairly often for organization and ADHD is Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD by Susan Plinsky.
René Brooks also has good resources/books she's written on her website BlackGirlLostKeys.
How to Keep House While Drowning is also a good short read from KC Davis, which does offer some helpful tips, but is more about helping you rationalize the tips and hacks that help folks with ADHD better manage their living environment, but many of us can struggle to implement because we feel guilt over not being able to do things like "normal" people. It's very short, but also very validating and cathartic. Or it was for me, lol.
📚 ADHD self-help book suggestions wanted!📚
Hello my fellow ADHD peeps!👋🏻
I am a graduate student currently taking a master’s in humanities. For my master’s thesis I’m going to write about self-help books directed to adults with ADHD. My main focus is going to be how these books describe ADHD.
I’m still going through the process of choosing my material and it would be really cool and super helpful if you could leave a comment/reblog and mention a self-help book you’ve read and why you liked/disliked it. It doesn’t have to be a whole review, a few words is enough. If you want to suggest several books that’s even better!
So let me know if you have any suggestions! ☺️ Thank you for taking your time to read, I hope you have an awesome day!🌻💛
Hi! This might be kind of a tall request but do you know of any sapphic books where one of the main characters has ADHD? (Or really any book [that's not YA or a children's book] where a main character has ADHD, I haven't been able to find ANY!)
I was planning on making an entire list of these, but alas I could really only find two books with explicit rep:
Anyone but You by Chelsea M. Cameron
Learning Curves & Wrapped Up In You by Ceillie Simkiss
If anyone else knows any please share with us!
Nonverbal Working Memory
This is the first of four posts about the different executive functions detailed in Taking Charge of Adult ADHD.
Nonverbal Working Memory | Verbal Working Memory | Emotion Regulation | Planning and Problem Solving
Let’s talk about nonverbal working memory! What is it? How does it work? What does ADHD do to it?
What is it?
Recalling what we have previously seen, heard, smelled, etc. What we have taken in via sensory input.
How does it work?
We envision the past to make better decisions in the future.
We imitate others and/or learn from their mistakes.
We foresee the consequences of our actions.
We gain self-awareness as we monitor our actions against our goals and the type of people we want to be.
We manage our time.
We choose to delay gratification through our sense of the future.
We learn how to see further and further ahead. We can plan not just hours or days ahead, but weeks and months ahead.
We learn to cooperate and share, recalling what people have done for us in the past and prompting us to reciprocate.
How does ADHD affect it?
We can’t recall a large number or variety of past events.
Long, complicated sequences are challenging for us, whether they are found in social interactions, multi-step tasks, or complex rules.
Learning from others’ mistakes and successes is more challenging; we end up doing a lot of our own trial and error.
We don’t have a lot of foresight.
Self-awareness comes slowly and takes longer to build up.
We opt for a quick reward over long-term benefits because it’s harder to sense the future.
We can make bad team players, either because we prefer to keep things to ourselves or because we forget that someone has helped us out and may feel that we “owe” them.

I'm angry. I'm really angry!!! I'm trying to find some fun books with ADHD characters. However, every book is about "fixing" yourself or a book saying "hey your not broken kiddo!" This is annoying. It makes me angry can I have a book where a person with ADHD just exists and there ADHD isn't the only feature of the character.
Also Percy Jackson, is there but I don't want Percy Jackson.
I'm just sad about this.
Hey, I'm writing a book in which one of the characters is an adhd witch...
I was wondering if y'all could say thing you are tired of seeing in false misconceptions about adhd and some representation you never see, but would like to!
Pls reblog with your awnser <3
I’m at Barnes & Noble and ended up in the children’s section with the parenting books... There are at least six different books on ADHD here, including one on ADHD in boys... Awesome!
But guess what isn’t here?
Yeah.
That’s a problem.
