[Summer 1983] Matt’s Birthday

Tiberius had been doing better, ever since deciding to get help he had been doing what he needed to be the man his family needed. He went to therapy, meetings when he craved alcohol and took care of the kids that gave him purpose more often than not. Life wasn’t exactly easy but was good and that was he decided to focus on.

Today was Matt’s birthday party, it had been a few years since Violet and Nick couldn’t plan it but him and his mother did everything they could to make it special. He invited a few children their age and some a little younger but everything was festive and the dragon shaped cake was brilliant so the only thing left to do was have fun.

He was chasing his nephews around the living room enjoying how much they laughed at their silliness when he almost bumped into someone new, “Merlin Addie. I almost ran into you.” he laughed straightening up and smiling at her, “I’m glad you could make it.” he said to the little girl and leaned to peck Ty’s lips, “Hullo to you too.”

Ice Cream Date | 1974 | Nick and Marlene

All of Nick’s younger siblings were currently at Hogwarts. He had enjoyed his time here of course, but he couldn’t help but feel like he was missing out having been to old to go with any of them. Charlie and Mark had just entered school when Nick was on his way out, and with them being clustered together so close in age, they didn’t have to try so hard to see each other it seemed. 

Nick was missing his younger siblings, but knew they probably wouldn’t want to do something all together, so he decided to write Marlene first, asking her when the next Hogsmeade trip was and if she wanted to see him. She’d let him know and agreed so at the date specified, he apperated to Hogsmeade and waited near the post office for her. He’d brought new pictures of Matt, thinking she might want one or two, or at least look at them, and he planned to take her to get some ice cream. That was the thing that the two of them did together on their own, it had become something of a tradition over the years and it was important to both of them. 

“Hey there, Marley-May!” He called out when he spotted her in the crowd. He smiled brightly and waved at her so she’d spot him.
