How would Detroit character smell?
Idk if I’m honest this is just a random thing I’ve had floating around my brain so I thought I’d share 🤷♀️
Kara
If I’m honest I feel like she smells either like laundry detergent, grime or literally nothing. Main reason are because she’s always given (or stolen) newly washed clothing. Plus, she’s often times in old/dirty places and or just in the rain so it just kinda makes sense. Alice most likely smells relatively the same.
At the the start though, the pungent smell of beer or drugs (red ice) is most prominent on her because that’s the stench of Todd’s home.
Markus
I’m being 110% honest because this is just my opinion and half based on fact i guess? As much as I wish Markus would smell like lovely cologne or just smell…nice he definitely reeks or just dirt, sweat and nasty shit. Like he crawled through a dump of robot parts, stole a random jacket, jumped into dirty water (only god knows what rancid crap is in there), is constantly in dirty or run down places plus all the fighting, killing and SO much more. He sometimes is in environments with rain of course but just like I can’t say he’d ever smell nice. I can also imagine the amount of human blood or dirt he’s covered in like 🥲
Connor
So I feel like because he’s a new model and all this he’s definitely well maintained so he probably just smells like disinfectant if I’m honest. However, they might light spritz him with one pump of cologne just to make him seem a little easier to work with or less unnerving. (Idk how to explain it but basically just to seem more humane? 🤷♀️)
In the last few chapters though he does probably smell like human sweat and blood (or just metallic-y kinda because i feel like thats what thiruim would smell like.
North, Simon, josh (and Jericho)
So the whole of Jericho in general (depending on how long people have been there though) yet it really doesn’t matter because the place most likely just smells foul. They haven’t all been there for years -obviously- but the dirt and mould growing on the ship is just a tell tale sign they all reek. To me, they all have a kind of damp musky kind of smell to them. Either that or the smell metallic-y like thiruim.
Hank
Despite being rough and depressed he has an underlying smell of cheap cologne most likely something that smells a little like lynx because it reminds him of his son. Either that or sandalwood cologne. As pointed out in the game too he evidently smells of booze and most likely cigarettes due to his common environments. Also he smells of dog because he gives sumo big hugs before he leaves the house duh🫂
Luther
Even though Zlatko obviously used those androids for his own gain, Luther (imo) was taken care of much more than the others so that he seemed well together and to make it look like Zlatko ain’t no crazy douche. But, of course that would ware off after time and we never really see him change clothes so I imagine he just stinks ever so slightly of grime (wasn’t exposed to outdoors for too long) and other oldy kinda smells but later on begins to reek much worse due to the smell in Jericho.
Ralph
I genuinely don’t know how to explain his smell or what I think but I’ll try. Of course he smells burnt but I feel like he smells rusty? Plus metallic-y from his over exposure of thiruim. Again like all the others has a prominent stink of dirt, soot, mould and other nasty things but also smells like old plaster.
Jerry’s
They wouldn’t stink too and because they’ve just been exposed to the cold for a long while but a real faint smell amusement park food, varnish (idk okay) and child smell. You know what I mean by child smell because children just have a certain…smell to them.
And like everyone else you guessed it dirt and grime! Woohoo!
If there’s anyone you want me to do I can try but I honestly don’t think there’s many more characters I can do (maybe Gavin but ehh) I’ll always try though!
