The Akatsuki organization seems to be the anime villain equivalent of one of those charities that evolve from a bunch of people working towards a noble cause to a massive scam to make quick money involving themselves with corrupt corporations to evade taxes and using dramatic and corny publicity to fulfill their dirty purposes.

We all thought joining the Akatsuki would be like a field trip? Why do we think it would be fun knowing it's an evil criminal organization? Was it all the fanfiction?
