I doubt much of tumblr is following the current Alexa (Amazon Echo) debacle so I'll give you a glimpse of what's happening.
Captain Picard "tea, earl grey hot."
Snarky teenage girl voice "hi! Do you want London fog, cappuccino or cold brew?"
Picard "I want tea earl grey hot. No milk. No sugar."
"I'm sorry you're out of milk and sugar. I can place an order for you."
"No. Computer, please provide me with a cup of hot tea. Earl grey."
"I can't find Earl Grey in your contacts. Can I help you with something else?"
Picard, leaning against the wall ready to violate a prime directive. "Computer, captain's orders, tea earl grey hot."
"Right. Now playing the trombone solo Tea Earl Grey Hot by Commander Riker."
"Computer. Initiate self destruct sequence."
Because this is essentially what using an echo device is like now. They moved it to AI and it won't go back. I've just completely stopped even though about all I used it for was sleep sounds. (Which it doesn't seem to recognize now.)
