Day 3: Whats your favourite Mark Solo Single?

I had to actually look up which songs were actual singles, which narrowed down the choices considerably (a lot of his best songs were never out as singles, which is a shame.) And once I knew the list I sat on it and thought about it most of the day today, and my mind just kept coming back to Alone Without You. Four Minute Warning was the bigger song, and I debated with Believe in the Boogie, but most of his singles took me a listen or two to warm up to, except Alone Without You. The first time I heard it, I fell in love with in, and went on a hunt for the video (but more on that during Day 4.) Like a lot of Mark’s songs, I feel that it was underrated and never given a proper chance, and especially because this is probably his most “commercial pop” song, it should have been bigger than it was.

Mark Owen | Alone Without You | In Your Own Time

2003 we finally see Mark's sophomore album the amazing and underrated In Your Own Time. This should've put him at least into the UK top 10 but I don't know what happened. For me the album is brilliant piece of pop from start to end w/ the UK getting a 13 track deluxe edition while the rest of us had to settle for a 10 track album. I had to buy it on import.

A lead banger of a song, 4 Minute Warning and the beautiful follow up Alone Without You which struggled in the charts even with a CD2. Maybe if they'd officially released the remixes it would've seen more success. You can find the only remixes of the 2 official singles on youtube called - Shanghai Surprise Mix.

A promo video was made for How Do You Love? but I can't fine a HQ version of it anywhere & nothing about its release is on Discogs.com

As of today none of these singles are available to steam/DL. I hope one day we do get a deluxe reissue of this great album with the bsides/rare tracks and remixes.
