The rabbit seems to call your name. You're late, so it's time to move. Oh Alice, you know it's your fate. Tick, tock. No time to lose.

OC Lyric Challenge: Aleksandra Tasheva
Aston Richards, the boy of lavender fields.
He’s always stuck in nostalgia, longing for a past that he knows he can never get back. His biggest fear is knowing he’s disappointed his deceased mother -- and let down his little sister. And their ghosts never go away.
Never assume -- appearances, personality, words.
Aleks feels as if her lungs are constricting, her body chilling with every second that passes too slowly. Through blurry vision, she stares at the woman who looms above her, dark blonde hair almost covering her face. She tries to choke out a word, but the pain is too much.
“Let me help you,” The woman says, but there’s no mistaking the fangs so noticeable in her mouth. Is she going to die here? Is this what Sariel has decided for her? If it is, then fine, she will die. But why by a vampires hand?
As the woman descends down, her vision blackening, the only thought that passes through Aleks’ mind is,
I don’t want to die.

worldbuilding / blood upon the altar / short stories - the history of the goddess, sariel
(cw: violence, blood)
Her fingers grip at the golden handle of her sword, the silver steel drips with blood and it spills over -- staining it orange and her hand. She forged that sword herself so many years ago, with dragon scales and blessed by a witch. Around her are the bodies of those who tried to fight, who tried to take her world away from her. There is nothing now, standing between her and the one she is after.
“I love this world just as much as you do,” They call out, voice echoing through the red stained fields. “I want what’s good for it, too!”
character profile | blood upon the altar | matija
Matija is a generous young man, upbeat and always looking towards the future. he’s never seen without a smile on his face -- and is an apprentice to Florian and his husband, Elliott at their small hospital and herb and medicinal shop. He tries his best to make sure everyone is happy, but sometimes fails. he has a habit of putting others before himself and that includes his own happiness and safety.
He had decided to become a healer after his village fell under a sickness that took out a good portion of its population, and he, himself, had gotten infected. an old woman--a witch, he would later learn--had helped heal him and bring medicine to his home. at sixteen, he left for the capital of Erest for a better education and since left for the capital of Aeonia. Florian had agreed to take him under his wing after matija had begged him over and over again -- and his husband joining in. since, he’s become something of a son to them.
Since then, he’s become sort of the talk of the town. They may not know him by face, but they know him by name. He’s had a few proposals from both men and women, but has turned each and everyone of them down.
Hardworking since birth, Matija has a habit of forgetting to eat and drink throughout the day, and tends to also overwork himself.
Still, he’s quick witted and enjoys pretending not to pick up on Aston’s (quite bad) flirting. Adrienne’s laid back personality can be quite exhausting sometimes, and he considers Aleks to be one of his friends, despite her alliance with the Church. He is, however, wary of why they have taken refuge in Aeonia.
age ; 22/23 alignment ; true neutral race ; fairy random fact ; he is homoromantic demisexual!
Matija’s smile quickly disappears. His eyes fall upon Aston’s uniform, the circular mark of The Order displaying proudly on the navy blue. He had hoped Aston wasn’t part of The Order, but he is.
“I’ve been informed Aleksandra is here,” Aston speaks formally. “If I may see her.”
“She’s sleeping,” Matija answers, a little coldly. “In order for her to get better, she must rest.”
Aston’s posture does not change. “Understandable,” He says. “I hear a vampire brought her here, so if you have any information, I would like it.”
“Aeonia is a free country,” His cold tone continues. “We do not answer to the likes of you.”
“However, she works for us, and her safety is our priority,”
“If I learn anything, I’ll tell you. But for now, I have to ask that you leave, I have other patients and clients to attend to,” With that, Matija briskly walks past him without so much of a regard to Aston’s hurt expression.
