Found more about that alternative plot for cars 3!!
And the alternative version of this scene:
If they separate the two things, racing and spy/action kinda worlds into two different lines of movies it would have been so interesting to see how this would have been... agree with a comment that said that this dark plots are so interesting but not when it forces itself into the original cast and their very grounded plots.
I''m sooo glad for how Cars 3 became in the end, closing in full circle with the first movie *chef kiss* but I was and on the edge of my seat looking at these storyboards, I could watch the entire thing even if it was just dubbed storyboards, so thrilling!
Alternative Plot for the film K-pop Demon Hunters (this will contain possible spoilers!) :
I think it would’ve been such a good plot beat to have Gwi Mah be Rumi’s dad and could’ve led to an evil Rumi scenario where we could see Mira and Zoey having to save her from herself and giving into her demons, this would’ve also led to more screen time with the Saja boys and possibly revealed any of their backstories.
For example I thought that even if they didn’t have their human memories they may have fuzzy memories from where Gwi Mah erased them leading to character development through talking about how they don’t know who they are anymore, and then they all could get saved at the end and defeat Gwi Mah together. This would’ve also explained the lack of names as they only see themselves as defined by the labels such as Romance, mystery etc. in order to fool the fans into supporting them, leading to a scene where they talk about this lack of identity which could’ve linked to Rumi not accepting her full identity and them with the help of Mira and Zoey realising they can find themselves after defeating Gwi Mah.
I think the saja boys becoming good could’ve also given really cutesy ending scenes where they learn about modern things since they’re ancient demons, like them all acting like scared cats due to seeing Huntrix using modern appliances. They also don’t necessarily have to be romantic with Huntrix with more focus on their platonic relationships with each other.
Either way I still love the film, and these are just some personal headcanons I have!
Also I’m aware that the Star Wars I am your father thing with Rumi and Gwi Mah might’ve been a bit cliche but I think it would’ve been a fun addition to the plot.
Furthermore if the song free was about Rumi fully choosing to be a demon in hopes of acceptance it probably would’ve been a good plot twist.
I think having more focus on Celine and the affect of Rumi’s mom’s death would’ve been a good inclusion as I felt like we could’ve seen more of her character and how her choices were shaped by the trauma of losing her best friend and having the fate of the world placed on her shoulders, especially since she had to raise a child who was part demon leading to some inner moral conflict.
I’m just rambling at this point… thank you for listening and good night!
This movie had so much potential and then it just went awful, despite the beautiful production values.
The father has given up his art for a job he hates and is mourning his recently deceased wife.
The aunt blows off her charity work to fruitlessly (and incompetently) search for some paperwork.
Lin-Manual awkwardly woos the aunt despite her lack of interest.
An evil(TM) banker tries to take their house but a good(TM) banker saves them.
And everyone is happy now that they are once more wealthy.
And during all of that, Mary Poppins tells the kids to be less serious, equates their mother’s death to losing a teddy bear, tells someone else that she’s lazy for taking one morning a month off from her job, and finally does a flashy bit of magic at the end after a dozen men have already essentially accomplished the same thing by risking their lives.
The production values were so high and the story and characters were so bad.
The most frustrating thing about it is how much potential the story had. Just:
A widowed father is struggling and failing. What if they did lose the house? What if they did have to move in with the aunt at her flat? They’re still together: the father and the children and the aunt too. Wouldn’t that be worth a song or two?
And what about the father’s artwork? What about trying to follow his passion, even if it has to be a second job after the job he hates? What about not giving up the things you love just because you’re not good enough to be a professional? Wouldn’t that be worth a song or two?
And what about poverty and the loss of social status? Going from being upperclass to working class? And the ways that can hurt, but is not the end of the world? And it’s a way for Lin-Manual to connect to the aunt, to show her that she’s not losing her chance at joy by losing the money or the house. Isn’t that worth a song or two?
There was so much potential to make a story with the moral of appreciating the people around you because life is uncertain and enjoying the world around you because that can be uncertain too, and there’s still a chance for joy regardless of the many troubles, personal and societal, trying to drag you down. And instead, we got a story of bad bankers and good bankers and wealth being required for happiness.
Now, I can’t remember all the scenes so bear with me. But this is a Loki friendly plot.
Beginning: Kenneth Branagh’s voice is heard giving out a distress call. “Send help, we are under attack. We are not a fighter ship. We have hundreds of families aboard. We have very few soldiers. Send rescue. Repeat....” Camera on Thanos’s ship, wreckage spinning then-
Valkyrie, on board a smaller ship. She's flying the ship. She’s covered in sweat and her clothes are tatty. She looks over her shoulder to.... Korg.
CAMERA TO exhausted families on board, all mucky, sooty, wounded, terrified children. old men.
CAMERA TO remains of Asgardian ship. Zoom on Loki’s face. THANOS to LOKI:
“Give up the Tesseract or I take your brother’s head. I assume you have a choice!”
LOKI: “Oh, I do.”
THOR, being dragged by Thanos and put in front of Loki: “We don’t have the Tesseract. It was destroyed with the rest of Asgard.”
LOKI looks at Thor, with a look downwards. Slowly his eyes rise again-
THOR: “You ARE THE WORST OF BROTHERS!”
LOKI: I promise you brother, the sun WILL shine on us again.” and brings the Tesseract out. He walks towards THANOS and lifts it up to him-
THANOS: “Your optimism is amusing, Asgardian, but naïve..[evil laugh]”
LOKI: “Well, two things. I am not Asgardian. And we. Have. A. HULK.”
HULK leaps into view hurling towards THANOS. LOKI jumps sideways, grabbing Thor and just barely getting both of them out of the way. LOKI produces a handful of daggers. Throws large one to THOR. The two of them circle the DARK ORDER. LOKI uses illusions to help them both. He has clones of himself confusing the enemy. They are wise to it but still take precious seconds to be sure which of them is LOKI. In this time THOR disarms some of them. EBONY MAW swirls around HULK and whilst HULK is batting at him (King Kong style!) THANOS looks over at THOR AND LOKI. Heimdall, on the ground. We see he is bleeding. He prays to the ancient god and powers that he can summon up his strength for one more act. THOR AND LOKI are whooshed up into a beam of light. HULK runs towards it and only just caught in it.
Because HULK was late into the beam, they land in different places. HULK lands in Dr Strange’s temple as Banner.
BANNER: ”He’s coming.” [- continue as film]
meanwhile....
LOKI AND THOR land in a field. NOW there is opportunity for some humour. LOKI lands in a huge bush and can’t be seen. THOR dusts himself down and looks around, squinting.
Camera to large hedge. A bush, sound of thrashing. Angry voice, bits of greenery throwing up in the air over the top of it.
LOKI: “OWWW”
THOR grins, marches over: “Not the best landing for a god, brother.”
LOKI emerges, in a state. Brushed himself down. “Where are we? What is this?”
THOR: “ANywhere but New York, I hope. C’mon.” Both start trudging away towards the distance.
LOKI, just heard in the distance, still a mess but rifling through his hair, shaking his head downwards: “Is my hair all right?”
After latest spoilers about Leonard`s coming back as his past version i started to rethink some plots. Went said by himself Sara remembers the kiss. Snart doesn`t. Well practically because this didn`t happen to him. yet. And these words some kind of mean that there are some Captain Canary stuff are coming! Great news!
So imagine Sara`s reaction on Snart (for real this time.. i hope). Legends and League are constantly fight each other. Leonard is not complete evil. He is after his own goals. And one day a thing happens. White Canary saves his life and he has no idea why. She is mistery to him. He knows she is assassin and still kind of like her. But he is honored thief so he believes that he is in debt and he hates being owed.
We know why Sara saved crook`s life. And it`s not just because he must live (to become Legend in the future) but also because she really doesn`t want to see him hurt.. and because she misses him much. And it really hurts her to see his past version without opportunity to talk to her friend.
So he asks her to meet him privately.
- You saved my life. I owe you. Let`s get this over. What do you want?
- I want you to hug me.
- Is that some new kind of torture now or you just want to kill me like that? I don`t do touchy stuff. Especially with the enemy.
Mabel's sniper rifle was beginning to dig into her shoulder blade.
It had been hours since the last time she moved, and she knew it could be hours more until she'd be able to move again.
So Mabel stayed frozen, ignoring the digging in her shoulder blade and the cramping in her back. She breathed through her nose, silently and lightly, barely blinking as her eyes stared at the terrain below.
Movement.
Beneath the sand, hundreds of feet below her, something moved.
She moved her sight a few degrees to the left, trying to focus in on the movement. She needed a definite target.
The shifting continued, but nothing appeared upon the surface of the sand. Mabel knew she had the vantage point of a lifetime— a shot she would never be able to take again.
But at the same time, if she missed it would burrow back down, only to be seen again when least expected and least wanted. To be seen again when she wasn't as prepared.
With a glint of red, a sharp horn protruded from the sand.
POP!
The bullet hit its mark.
A scream echoed across the planes, making trees shake and popping Mabel's ears. The creature shot out of the sand, thousands of rows of teeth bared to the sky.
Then it collapsed, going completely still against the sand and rubble below.
Mabel could finally breathe again.
Her back relaxed. Joints popped as she finally shifted out of the position she had been in for what felt like hours. For what had probably been hours.
Mabel stretched her arm back, fingers finding the black shape of a Walkie-Talkie at her waist. "Sand snake is down."
For a moment, the radio only played back static and bits of radio stations that had been dead for months.
"I'll let Ford know," Dipper's voice cut the static. "We'll probably send out a party to salvage it later... Can you start heading back home?"
Home, as it had been for the last year and three months, was what remained of the mystery shack after their great fight with Bill Cipher. Sure, the place still had a T-rex sticking out of one of the walls, and car shrapnel had been recoiled through most of their windows, but the shack had become home in a world of no shelter.
Mabel pulled apart the individual pieces of her gun, slowly packing them back into their case. Sliding this into her bag, she held the radio with one hand and slung her bag over her opposite shoulder.
"Copy that, bro-bro. I'll be home before dinner."
Instead of offering her a response, Dipper's end of the radio went silent.
One year, three months.
One year and three months since her and Dipper had traveled by bus to the cursed town of Gravity Falls, and one year since they unsuccessfully rose against Bill in the Shacktron. One year since they got their butts kicked and handed back to them.
The weirdness bubble containing Gravity falls had not yet been broken. Its borders had been pushed, spanning across all of Oregon, some of the pacific ocean, a sliver of Canada and some surrounding states. Mabel studied the height of the border from her vantage point of the mountain, slowly scaling her way back down to safe land.
