Stop, listen and meditate to the sound of nourishing spring rains 🌿🌧 . . The rains here are abundant and endless, making the world around me soo green and lush! Every day that goes by I remember why I moved here. Lately I have alternating between sewing new items for my shop, one that I will be launching tomorrow! Cuddling inside listening to the rain as I study my herbalism books & stroll through my yard meeting all the new ladies that are sprouting up from the ground. . . Within this week there’s already an endless sea of edible weeds: cleavers, chickweed, plantain, dock, dandelion, bittercress, lamb’s quarters, garlic mustard and much more! . . Did you know that “weeds” that are typically yanked out of the ground and throw away, are actually more nourishing and even more delicious then the lettuces you buy at the grocery store? It really is a tragedy that in school we aren’t teaching our children to learn about and harvest this free nutrition. Instead we teach to spray them with toxic chemicals, throw them away, go to the grocery store and pay a ridiculous amount of money to buy old lettuce that has been shipped from place to place to get there, and contains much less nutritional value.... 🤯 . . I am excited to watch my garden come to life, eat the weeds and watch what else springs to life, as the rain continues to pour down. I have been eating these ladies in my dinners and going to be making some medicine from them soon. . . What’s all growing around you? Do you have a garden?
