season 9 opens with buck and eddie in their shared kitchen cooking together while chris does his homework at the dining room table. they're talking about fitting shifts around mundane domestic shit they have to do and as eddie gets up to leave he leans in and gives buck a quick goodbye kiss. nothing showy just comforable and domestic and clearly something they've done 1000 times before

and then buck wakes up in a cold sweat tangled in his sheets on eddies couch and we hard launch into the "buck knows hes in love with eddie and is absolutely failing at trying to hide it" era
