Wildlife & Tree Protection Spell

We had some strong winds that caused quite a bit of damage yesterday, along with heavy rain and hail, and a witchy friend of mine was worried about the trees near her home. She asked me if I could cast a spell to protect them until the storm passed. Meanwhile, a portion of the forest near my home is currently being cleared, leaving wildlife homeless and in more danger than usual, so I decided to combine these ideas into one protection spell. The spell’s goal was to: - provide extra protection to local trees so they could survive the storm with minimal damage - provide extra protection to local wildlife who had lost their homes due to logging, and wish them safety while searching for new ones - show respect and grieve for the trees, wildlife, and plants that had been destroyed for the gain of humans during this logging project For this spell, I used a fresh, small cardamom Yankee candle that was given to me as a gift years ago. I called upon my dragon totem to assist with the spell, as it represents justice, the preservation of history, greed, power, interference and wrongdoings of mankind, and tradition. Humans shamelessly cut down wide expanses of trees for their own benefit without thinking of the creatures who make those trees their homes, much like how they needlessly slaughtered dragons for fame or fortune in old folklore. While casting the spell, I would visualize a large dragon standing protectively in front of the trees, wings outstretched to shield them from the elements, standing guard until the storm passed. I also visualized other dragons forming a barrier between wildlife and oncoming traffic as animals crossed the street in search of shelter. I carved my dragon totem’s rune/symbol (five diagonal lines representing a slash from one clawed hand) into the candle before lighting. - Dizzy

Not a fan of spiders, but...

I found one of those little jumping spiders in my room yesterday, so I caught it in one of my empty mason jars and took it outside to release it. I couldn't manage to shake it out though, and I didn't want to hurt it, so I decided to just leave the mason jar on its side on the back deck overnight so the spider could leave on its own. Well, this morning I went to check on it, and the spider was still sitting in there. I assumed this would all go something like "oh good, the human's gone now, here's my chance to escape" and it would scurry away a few minutes after I left, but instead the spider thought "oh gosh, the human has given me a gift! It is shiny and quiet and safe, and I shall make it my home". I came back outside a few minutes later to see it moving around, and I did finally manage to get it out and release it into the backyard though. Sorry little buddy, I needed my jar back!

I have a small obsession with animals. It drives my husband crazy. I have 2 cats (my baby is a 8 mo old black cat,) and 2 parakeets. I eventually want a parrot (I grew up with them, they make me feel at home,) and atm am trying to convince him it’s a good idea to let my daughter have a ferret. I get very obsessive. I am at work right now googling everything I can ferret related. I have all the needed supplies on a wish list on Amazon. I WILL have my little weasel.
