Part 7: Running From the Inverted Eye (Sooga x Fem!reader)
Masterlist
a/n!: hello, readers! i'm so glad I got this chapter out because summer classes have been kicking my ass. I've never taken one before and I didn't realize that they went over content so fast. but yeah. I hope you enjoy this part!
word count: 1.9k
I got the divider from: @yoriichitsugikunii
The rest of the day was spent interrupting the work of the researchers and probing for answers about my father. Most of the researchers were happy to help us, though they didn’t know very much.
From what I gathered, my father had been a very secretive man that didn’t share much of anything about his work. Some researchers had reported that he would bring in crates that were tightly closed. They only caught glances of monster parts before he was shooing them away. No one else knew why he was working with the remains of monsters.
After the sun dipped below the horizon and brilliant colors were thrown across the clouded sky, every word that I heard from the researchers made me feel wrong. My father clearly had been up to something that wasn’t any good. Even thinking about what my father might have been doing made me feel sick to the stomach but there was also a part of me that desperately needed to know.
I was tagged by @fire-fira to share a snippet of a WIP! I made a post a WHILE ago about a "what if Teba was the pilot to Divine Beast Vah Medoh during TOTK" AU, and I have been very slowly working on it the past few months (other fandoms and other irl stuff has me distracted, plus the plot keeps running away from me lol), but here's a snippet I really like! (which is probably too long to be considered a snippet, but oh well I like it a lot lol)
--------
Teba looks up at Vah Medoh, still perched on the top of Totori Spire in the center of Rito Village, and wonders what exactly he thinks is going to happen if this somehow works. It didn’t work for any of the others, and there’s no reason for it to work for him, but…
He’ll never know unless he tries, he supposes, and so with a deep, steeling breath, he takes off and makes his way up to Medoh.
The way the Beast is perched makes finding a suitable landing spot a tad awkward – her back, where the control unit is, is at an almost 180 degree slant. Teba could try hovering near it, he supposes, but he’s not sure if he would be able to that while also attempting to activate the terminal.
But he needn’t have worried, for as he circles her back, looking for a place to land, Vah Medoh starts up with a whir of engines. Slowly, she shifts, until her back is flat enough for Teba to land on. He’s glad he told Saki and Harth of his plan; hopefully they’ll reassure the rest of the Village, should any of them begin to panic at Vah Medoh beginning to move about again.
Touching down on the Vah Medoh of this era is odd, and yet familiar. She is covered in moss and rust, and there are the obvious scars of battles taking place upon her – the battle that this era’s Revali failed to survive, and the battle that Link only just managed to win barely a few months ago.
It is strange, to be here without Revali, Teba thinks. There is a quiet, a stillness, to Medoh here that wasn’t there in the time-that-wasn’t. Ever since she fired that devastating beam at Ganon during Link’s final fight, just two months before Teba found himself whisked away to another era, Medoh has been silent and still, no longer glowing the bright blue Teba became accustomed to seeing during his time with Revali and the others – but thankfully not glowing that awful Malice-pink, either.
But now, upon his landing, the blue lights reignite, soft and barely noticeable in the bright daylight. The control terminal lights up as well, seeming to call to Teba.

Summary: "The Hero of Time, out of his proper time and place, is ready to do nothing but rest and relax until the end of existence now that Ganon is confirmed dead. But, when Purah lets it slip that one of her old experiments might be responsible for causing a time fracture, it's time to take up arms and travel back to the source to fix it.
THIS is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, or a whimper. But a fourteen-year-old screaming profanities in a dead language while he takes on an army."

Zelda fixes Terrako, and Link learns a little more about her.
(Age of Calamity spoilers)
I wanna write a linked universe fic for Age of Calamity, but I don't think I have time, so here is the jist of the idea if anyone wants to pick it up
The chain meets the hero of calamity before the war has begun- Link is like 15 or 13 and just found out he is the hero, not sure how to feel about that. He has no title yet, so they call him the Little Knight
The Chain gets to know the little guy and they travel together for a while. However, one day Knight just vanishes with no explanation. Time thinks Hylia sent him back to finish his quest.
Few weeks pass and eventually things go back to normal (as normal as world jumping can be). Then a portal opens up, but uh oh monsters attack and the group end up not going through the portal together and get separated.
Time, Twilight, Sky, and Legend land in the post-apocalyptic vast wilderness of Breath of the Wild. They hear tales about the Fallen hero who was slain by the Calamity and they are horrified thinking Knight is dead.
Eventually, they do end up finding Wild (he finds them). They find he is scarred, traumatized and has no memory of them. While he is still the dorky chaotic kid they knew, he now anxious and full of guilt.
Meanwhile, Warriors, Wind, Hyrule, and Four are dropped into Age of Calamity where they end up being arrested. Luckily Knight remembers them and bails them out.
Knight in this timeline still has his shares of trauma and issues. He is still a big goof and is has feral energy (he willingly eats Hyrule's cooking), but is much more stressed and anxious. He doesn't talk anymore due to anxiety and doesn't know what to do with himself outside of being a knight and hero. He is good at hiding his insecurities though.
The portals open again and the groups are reunited, both preparing to announce that Knight is back!
But now there are two Knights....
They call them Wild and Champion after their titles
Wild and Champ don't really get along well at first. Not due to disliking each other, but because wjat the other one represents.
Champion is all that Wild failed at. He defeated Calamity without his friends died and never left Hyrule defenseless for 100 years. He won and saved the princess.
Wild is a reminder to Champion of what could have happened. Champ is well aware that if it weren't for the Dias ex machina of Terrako that he would have failed and died. Even with the help of the egg, he couldn't do it alone and had to have help from Wild's timeline!
Eventually the heros talk and figure things out. The Chain dubs them the Feral Twins and have to deal with their antics
Some headcannon differences between Wild and Campion
Wild uses a bow and Champ a sword
Champ is a huge Simp but Wild is an oblivious nightmare
Wild talks occasionally but has one hell of a pokerface, Champion doesn't talk but is very expressive
Champ's hair is at cannon length since he is in the military, Wild hasn't cut it since waking up and refuses to ever since
Wild has latched onto Twilight, Champ on Warriors
Wild's Zelda is Flora, Champ's is Scholar
After opening up and accepting appreciation I started liking my hair more. Thanks to my husband I learned to love myself and to appreciate myself and not to care what others think. Necessarily, you would never need a man to tell you that you look beautiful, but sometimes we all need that someone to push us to accept ourselves to deeply care for ourselves. And who might that be you might ask? Well duh 🙄 my husband was the one who helped me, but not only him I helped myself as well...
Chapter 3/Scenario 3
I fell back to my memories.
I looked up at the masked figure before me. "Hmmmm. You don't seem so tough"
I stomped on his foot as hard as my 8 year old body could.
"YOUCH! What's wrong with you?! I thought you wanted to join the clan for crying out loud, not hurt the top banana!"
I just replied, "That's for killing my dad."
Master Khoga sighed, "Kid, you're dad and the royal family kinda screwed you over by being there. Isn't that like..." He scratched the back of his head and paced back and forth, trying to think of a good analogy. "Like if a bossy monkey was eating a bundle of bananas and gave its bodyguard who was also a monkey only one banana, but the bodyguard monkey had a kid monkey who only got the brown part of the single banana!"
"What?" I asked gobsmacked. Even at this age I could tell this was a bad analogy.
"YEAH!" Khoga continued like I understood. "And we come along and try to give the baby monkey and the bodyguard monkey all the bananas by killing the bossy monkey. But the bodyguard monkey starts attacking us. What are we supposed to do? Let it kill us to death?"
I thought about this for a minute. "I guess protect yourself?"
"Exactly, baby monkey- I mean, whatever your name was. But we'd need to kill it before it kills us. And now we take care of the baby monkey and share and equal portion of bananas!"
I looked down and replied "but dad said-"
Khoga grabbed my shoulders and shook me. "Listen kid! You're a warrior in your own right from what Mitsuki told me. I want you to show me what ya got! You could be a big asset to the Yiga Clan. Nowhere close to me, though. But, you could make a fine footsoldier. Maybe even a blademaster."
I took a deep breath before releasing it with a nod nodded. That day forward I was trained and taught by different members of the clan as if I was one of the kids born into the Yiga Clan.
~~~
I walked out to the chamber room of the hideout with a banana in hand. I peeled it, lifted my mask enough for just my mouth to show, and took a bite. As I overlooked the circle of torches around the room. It looked like yet another boring of guarding a hideout that would never be found by the Gerudo.
