Summary: AU, in which Y/n is in the army and only has a few hours left with Wanda, before she has to leave again. So, she takes Wanda to Build-A-Bear and they make Wanda a bear that will remind her of her girlfriend.
Wanda refuses to let go of my hand, clinging to it as if I would disappear if she didn't. I wouldn't. Not today anyway.
We got two more days together before I return to my work and am send on a mission. The exact details are still confidential, all we know is that it'll be at least six months. Six months isn't long, if you compare it to other durations.
A pregnancy is nine months, a year is twelve months, even a school year is longer than six months.
If you are in a relationship and separated from your girlfriend, six months is a lot though.
We've been through this before and it's never easy. Missing Wanda for so long sometimes feels like heartbreak.
I love her like crazy and wish, we could see each other in between.
All we can do, if we're lucky, is a phone call, or I can send her letters. It's not great, but it's something.
Somehow, we have to make it through these times of separation. And Wanda is supportive of it too. She always tells me it's okay and waits patiently for me to return.
Whenever I come home, she has a little surprise for me. Sometimes a cake, sometimes a dinner, other times a date, a bouquet of flowers, lingerie, a spa giftcard and so on. I wouldn't need all of that though, I just need her when I come back.
While I'm away, I think about holding her almost every night. I imagine cradling her head into my neck, wrapping my arms securely around her and feeling her breathe against my skin. I think about kissing her goodnight and falling asleep with her curled up into me.
Just thinking about going away again makes me want to pull her in and never let go.
"Oh," Wanda makes, eyes growing big as we step into the Build-A-Bear store.
I've never been to one, but know she loves these stores and while she never got anything, she likes looking at the different options, says it reminds her of the awe she felt as a child.
Everything is colorful and looks soft to touch. There are a few kids running around, carrying stuffed animals or clothing for said stuffies.
I lead Wanda to where she can pick out what kind of stuffed animal she wants. This was her idea and I think it's super cute and wish, I was able to take one on my mission myself. I can't, so it will only be one today.
"I like this one," she decides and picks out a bear with dark brown fur. I run my hand over it, it's super soft.
"It's perfect," I agree and she nods happily. Her hand is still in mine, so I have no other choice but to follow her around the store as she follows the instruction arrows on the floor.
We reach the stuffing machine where a woman smiles kindly at us.
"Are you ready to fill your new buddy?" She asks, nodding at the empty bear Wanda is holding.
"Yess," she says, sounding excited like a child. I love seeing her this way.
Excited and happy, not caring what anyone else might think about it.
From my side, she will never have to fear judgement over being excited about anything. I adore her way too much and love the way her nose scrunches up when she gets excited or how she jumps and dances around when she can't contain her own emotions. It's one of the reasons I love her so much.
"You can add in hearts." The woman points to a box of soft hearts and one that are thicker and according to the label can contain a message. I don't even need to look at Wanda to know which one is the right pick. The one with a voice note.
I let go of her hand, or try to, as she continues to hold on. I shake my hand lightly, but she refuses to let go.
"I need both hands to record a message, sweetheart," I remind her softly, at which she pouts.
"You don't."
I peck her lips.
"Okay, maybe not, but I want the message to be a surprise for you, okay? For that, you will have to let me take a few steps away."
She grumbles but lets go of my hand. I send her a smile before stepping away, a heart in my hand. Hopefully, this will help her get through the lonely nights.
As soon as I am next to her, she grabs hold of my arm again, leaning into my side. I kiss her cheek and hand the woman the heart. She fills the teddy up, checking in with Wanda about how much filling she wants, before adding the heart and sewing the teddy shut.
"All it takes for the message to be played is a good squeeze," she explains and hands the teddy to Wanda, whose eyes are bright with joy.
"Not until I'm gone though," I whisper into her ear. She looks at me, scanning my face.
"Why not? Did you say something inappropriate? If you did and make me believe now that it's something sweet... I swear to the gods, y/n, I will find you and kill you." Her rage is cute and not at all frightening.
That is, because I know she will love the message I put in there. If I would have been dumb enough to say something naughty, I would now genuinely fear for my life.
I love my girlfriend, I truly do, but she can be scary as shit when she wants to be.
The few times I witnessed it, I wasn't her object of attention and still, I felt a shiver run down my spine.
She has the deadliest glare I have ever seen and when she tilts her head... you better run because you will not survive otherwise.
When we fight, which is rare, she doesn't get as scary, which makes me believe, I haven't fucked up too much yet and don't plan to.
"I didn't, I just want it to be a surprise. Please?" I meet her green eyes, almost being able to watch as they soften and she relents, nodding.
"I will still hunt you down, if you're lying," she mutters and I chuckle, wrapping my arm around her shoulders.
"You'd have every right to."
We move on to the clothes section and for this, she lets go of my hand. I fulfil my duty as girlfriend and hold the teddy securely in my arm while she roams through the different options, searching for one very specific piece of clothing. When she finds it, she spins back around to me, holding it up with a proud smile.
A little army jacket for the teddy.
"It needs a hat and boots," she decides and takes off again. I chuckle to myself as I carefully pull the teddy's arms though the sleeves and button up his jacket.
Wanda returns with a hat, still searching for boots. I let her do her thing, happily watching and dressing up the teddy with everything she brings me.
"You look like you could come with me," I tell it, gently padding its hat. I truly wish, I had something to take with me to hold at night.
A teddy is too big to bring with me, so the necklace Wanda gifted me on our first anniversary will have to do.
It's a simple silver chain, in the front held together by the first letters of our names, entangled. It's almost kitschy and absolutely perfect.
If I ever miss her, no, if I ever not miss her, I will have my hands at my sides and not play with it.
The shape and feeling of it is so familiar by now, I feel like I could trace it, even if it wasn't there.
"They have no boots," Wanda pouts, hands on her hips. I have to contain a smile and tug a red strand out of her face.
"That's okay, the teddy won't have to walk all that much."
She produces a tiny smile and takes the teddy into her arms, squeezing it carefully to not set off the message.
We step up to the register and the man behind it smiles.
"We are selling a lot of those army bears lately," he comments, scanning the price tags.
I glance over at Wanda. She isn't the only one who goes through months without speaking to her partner.
One day, I hope we won't have to adjust to this separation anymore.
Eventually, I want a job that allows me to settle down and return home at the end of the day and not return to a military base in the middle of nowhere.
"If you want, you can customize the tag on the jacket," the man offers, tapping on it. Wanda's eyes light up.
"Can we put a name on there?"
The man nods. Without hesitation, Wanda nods.
"Y/l/n."
The man nods again and types it into his computer. Somewhere behind him something starts humming and a minute later, he turns around and retrieves a batch with my last name on it. He switches it with the plain one and shows the bear to Wanda.
I don't think I've ever seen my girlfriend happier about something so small and she already appreciates the little things.
I pay for the bear and take Wanda's hand, leading her out of the store and pressing a kiss to her temple.
"Happy?" She nods. "Perfect."
Pov Wanda
I swallow hard, trying not to break out into tears again as I enter the bedroom to change into comfortable clothes. Seeing y/n off is always so damn hard. I never want her to leave and at the same time, I know she has to.
It's not even the worry about her not coming back to me, I managed to get past that and hold on to the naïve thought that she is invincible.
No, it's that she will be gone for six months and I have to miss her for so long. The periods she is home are way too short compared to the ones she is gone. Each time she leaves, it feels like a part of my heart is ripping off and going with her.
I try to be strong for her, knowing it's not easier for her either, but I always end up crying. If not from the beginning, but when she whispers all sorts of promises into my hair and kisses me for the last time before stepping away.
When she returns, I can appreciate her uniform and the way she looks in it, but when she leaves, I just want to rip it off her, as if it would prevent her from leaving.
I slip into comfortable clothes and swallow down my tears. Everything inside here still smells of her and I never want the smell to falter. It will in a couple of days, I know that, but I can hold on to some silly hope for at least the rest of the day.
My eyes fall on the teddy in between our pillows. My little y/n bear. She has been in our bed throughout the whole day after we got her, only having to make room at night so we could cuddle.
Y/n was very careful and made sure not to squeeze her too hard. I am curious about her message and now that she is gone, I am finally allowed to listen to it. A small glimpse of hope.
I sit cross-legged on the bed and pull the teddy to me, pressing my face into its belly. It smells of her and it almost feels as if she was right next to me.
She isn't, it's just her perfume and still, sometimes I allow myself to be delusional.
My heart beats faster as I squeeze the teddy tightly, waiting for the message.
"Hey, Wanda sweetheart. I'll be home before you know it and I love you so, so, so, so, so much."
My tears fill with eyes again at the sound of her voice, even if it's a little tinny through the small speaker.
That's my girl.
[I noticed the mistake while editing but it's too funny to correct it. XD It happens more often than you think.]
I squeeze the teddy again, listening to her voice over and over again until my heart aches a little less.
Distance sucks and I hate it with all I am, but this might help me to get through the next six months. This and the many notes she has left me around the apartment.
At least, I believe she has left notes. She did the last time. They were cute and almost made me cry each time.
With the teddy in my arm, there's no way I'm putting her down today, I walk over to our dresser, curious about the notes.
When I open it, there is no note in there though. Just a tiny yellow duck on the top of her remaining t-shirts.
I stare at it in confusion before picking it up. There's a tiny number written at the bottom: 17.
My eyes wander around the rest of the bedroom. Did she hide 16 more of these little ducks around our home?
I close the dresser and set the duck down, not able to keep from smiling. It reminds me of one of our first dates where she took me to a pop-up museum for rubber ducks.
She was a little embarrassed about it, said she thought it would be cooler as it was greatly advertised on their website.
It was a little shrill and very yellow and very dorky, which made me fall in love with her for some reason.
I doubt many people can say, they were at a rubber duck pop-up museum as a date.
Part of me wants to go around the apartment and search for the rest of the ducks and another part of me wants to wait until I find them during my daily life.
They'll be little reminder of the goofball that is my girlfriend. Only she would think about buying a ton of tiny ducks and hide them all around our apartment for me to find while she is away.
Well, at least I have something to do while she is gone though and with her voice and smell inside the teddy, I think, I might be able to get through these next six months, even if they will be hard.
Summary: Laura and Natasha talk while Wanda listens in before Natasha burns breakfast.

The next morning, Wanda awoke to the bed feeling colder than usual.
She slowly rose her sleepy head off her pillow and moved her arm to where Natasha should've been. "Nat?" Wanda's groggy voice escaped her mouth as she turned around to look for the redhead. However, her search came up empty.
It wasn't until Wanda rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and the sound of a frying pan hitting the kitchen floor did she figure out where Natasha scurried off too.
"Nice going. Are you trying to wake everyone up?" Laura playfully scolded Natasha, who slapped her arm before picking up and wiping down the pan. "God, watching you hold a pan is worse than driving that god-awful bike for the first time," Laura commented as she watched Natasha react to the kitchenware like it was alien technology.
Now give Natasha a knife and a can of food, and she could deliver a meal.
Natasha rolled her eyes. "You know I don't cook." She set the pan down and grabbed some fresh eggs off the kitchen island. "Plus, I still have that bike, and I look pretty badass on it." Natasha smiled because she knew she looked good in it. "Also, just because you're a mom doesn't mean I forgot when you used to have a bike, too."
Laura sneered as she lifted up her mug of coffee to her lips.
"Does Wanda like the bike?"
Wandaheard as she quietly stopped in the middle of the stairs. She was intrigued. A little easedrop never hurt anyone. Right? Wanda pushed her hair behind her ears and sat down on the hardwood step, prepared to listen in.
"Yeah," Natasha responded before grabbing more ingredients for a special breakfast. "She loves it. Except..." Natasha chuckled slightly. "Except every time we go out with it, someone always brings it back home. It's like a running joke that we don't want." Laura hummed as she took another sip. "Have you met her friends?"
Natasha brought her eyes to Laura. "Oh, I see we're doing the I wanna know everything game." Laura set her mug down and gestured with her arms. "Duh! Natasha, I haven't seen you for a long time, and when I do, you bring someone with you. That's big!"
Natasha's face turned slightly red with a smile as she thought about Wanda and their conversation last night.
"You're right," Natasha said. "I have met her friends, by the way. They're pretty great."
Wanda would have to remember about drunk karaoke and show Laura all the videos.
"And they like you?" Laura said as if they wouldn't like Natasha making the redhead drop her mouth in offense. "Wow, Laura!" The mom shook her head. "Oh please, you know what I meant." Natasha cracked eggs into one pan and started a batter for French toast in another.
"Yes, they love me! Even her brother likes me! Mom, too!" Natasha said with pride. Wanda smiles on the staircase. Her Mother adored Natasha. "Wow!" Laura said before folding her arms on the kitchen island. "Take it the father doesn't know?"
Natasha shook her head. Laura nodded. "It's not like you guys are official yet." Natasha pulled her lips into her mouth and eyed Laura.
"Shut up!" Laura exclaimed when she saw Natasha's face. Natasha shrugged with a grin. "I asked her last night!"
Laura clapped her hands together and got up from the stool to hug Natasha. The redhead kept her hands on the spatula she was using. "Oh, Natasha is finally growing up!" Laura said as she playfully squeezed Natasha's cheeks. "Alright. Alright." Natasha rolled her eyes and focused on the food in front of her. Laura laughed and leaned back against the counter next to Natasha.
"Are you happy?" Laura questioned.
Natasha didn't waste a second before her eyes found Lauras. "I haven't been this happy in a long time." Laura could see and feel Natasha's raw honesty.
It was amazing to see.
Wanda smiled wide. She hadn't been this happy in a long time either.
"What are you doing?" Wanda wiped her head around to see Lila standing at the top of the steps, rubbing her tiny eyes. Wanda put her index finger to her mouth and gestured for Lila to quietly step down to her. Lila smiled and joined Wanda before brining her mouth near Wanda's ear and whispering. "What are you doing?" Wanda cupped her hand and whispered back to Lila. "Spying on Natasha and your mom."
There was no point in lying.
"Why?" Lila asked, and Wanda thought about the answer. "Because they were talking about me." Lila went wide-eyed and nodded. "Mom calls that gossip." Wanda held in her laughter. "Does your mom gossip a lot?" Wanda asked, a little curious. Lila shrugged. "Mainly with dad."
Wanda nodded before rising from the staircase. The sound of Laura and Natasha switching topics had happened.
"Well, let's go, kiddo. I think Auntie Natasha is making breakfast."
"Uh oh," Lila said, making Wanda laugh as they descended the stairs.
In the kitchen, Laura and Natasha turned their heads just as Wanda and Lila came into view. "Well, look who's up!" Laura said as she passed by Natasha with a smirk before picking up her child. "You never get up this early!" Laura questioned her daughter. "I heard a loud banging noise and talking."
Natasha smiled sheepishly at Wanda, who joined her at the stove. "Hi," Wanda whispered. "Hi," Natasha whispered back. "Did the pan wake you up, too?" Wanda shook her head. "Your absence did."
"Oh my gosh, you guys are a couple for two minutes, and it's so gross," Laura said while covering Lila's face, who couldn't stop laughing at her mother's silly actions. "Momma, stop!" Lila giggled, but Laura pulled her away. "Let's go wake up your brother and maybe think about ways to nicely tell Atunie Nat about how she doesn't have to cook for us."
"I heard that!" Natasha said while Wanda watched her with her bottom lip between her teeth. "You were supposed to!" Laura replied before she and Lila were up the stairs. Natasha rolled her eyes before turning to Wanda. "What?" The redhead asked with a soft tone in her voice. "You're just cute," Wanda replied. "Oh gosh, we are that gross couple." She added on but laughed as Natasha pulled her closer until their lips touched.
"Natasha?"
Natasha hummed as she slowly pulled away.
"What's burning?" Natasha's eyes became the size of plates as she turned around to see the wooden spatula had burn marks due to the stovetop. Natasha immediately threw it into the kitchen sink before running water over it.
Wanda watched how out of place Natasha looked and decided to take over the cooking duties.
"Oh god, should I throw it out?" Natasha held up the burnt spatula to Wanda, who laughed. "I think-" "Is something burning?" Laura called down from the top of the stairs.
"Don't worry, Laura, I got it!" Wanda yelled back. Covering for Natasha. Laura trusted Wanda a hell of a lot more than Natasha when it came to food.
Or not burning down houses.
Natasha stood beside her girlfriend with the wooden spatula in her hand, still waiting for an answer. "Wash it off and give it to me. I'll handle it."
Natasha didn't look too sure, but Wanda seemed very nonchalant about it as her attention moved to the French toast and eggs.
So Natasha did as she was told.
A minute later, Wanda added sausage to a griddle she somehow conjured up when Natasha looked away.
Natasha knew she herself was terrible at cooking, but watching how Wanda glided in a kitchen she had never used before and how easy it looked made Natasha feel like she would never truly understand the joys of making your own food unless it was an orange packet of noodles. Or a peanut butter sandwich.
And yes, Wanda helped her mother make pies and cakes or the occasional traditional Sokovian meal. But Natasha had truly never seen Wanda more in her element.
Other than the bedroom. ;)
"What's with the look?" Wanda asked without even turning around to Natasha. That freaked out the former soldier. Natasha straightened up and leaned over the kitchen island. "I'm looking atthe magic happening before my eyes." Wanda rolled her green ones. "Magic, huh?" She asked as she looked over her shoulder at the redhead.
Natasha nodded. "You're so natural it's like you're on autopilot," Wanda raised an eyebrow but smiled as she lifted the burnt spatula and pointed it at Natasha. "You're bordering on the line of a "joke" I don't think you want to make." Natasha looked at Wanda, confused, before it clicked. "Oh my gosh, no, I would never say that!" Wanda laughed loudly as she moved some sausages onto a plate.
"What would you never say?" Laura asked as she and the two kids entered the kitchen. Lila immediately ran to Wanda's side—Cooper to Natasha.
"Natasha thinks I belong in the kitchen!" Wanda spoke without much of a tease to her voice. Laura quickly flicked the back of Natasha's head as Lila spun her head around with shock all over it. "Auntie Nat!" Natasha was flummoxed and couldn't pick up her mouth quick enough. Wanda really sold her down the river, even if this isn't what she meant.
But Wanda knew it and winked at her girlfriend.
Laura quietly chuckled to herself as Cooper shook his head.
"I did not say that-" "She also brunt your spatula." Wanda raised it up to Laura. "Oh my gosh! Wanda, stop!" Natasha whined at the consistent betrayal. "I didn't say those things!"
"Did you burn the spatula?" Laura asked curiously as Natasha threw her head down. "Wanda!!!" Natasha was exhausted, and the day hadn't even started yet.
"Okay. Okay." Wanda said as she clicked off the stove and let Lila scramble some leftover eggs. "Natasha just complimented me on how well I do in a kitchen environment. I bake pies and cakes back home." Wanda explained. "And yes, Natasha accidentally burnt the spatula."
Laura looked between the two women. "Keep the spatula." She then pointed at Natasha. "How about you step away before you burn anything else and start preparing the table." Natasha hung her shoulders in defeat before grabbing Cooper to help her.
Laura meanwhile moved towards Wanda and Lila. "Helping with the eggs, sweetie?" She asked her daughter, who nodded. "Wanda was saying maybe we could make a cake later." Wanda looked at Laura. "It was just a thought. We don't have to." She was giving Laura a chance to say no, but Laura smiled at Wanda and Lila. "I think you and Wanda will have a great time doing that." She pinched her daughter's cheeks, making the small child giggle.
Wanda then helped Lila move some food to another plate for the table before they started working on the French toast.
Lila happily carried the plates and bowls of food over before grabbing out the fruit with the help of Natasha.
Laura looked over Wanda as she moved closer. "You heard, didn't you." Wanda turned her head. "Heard what?" Laura smirked and turned back to make sure Natasha wasn't listening. Her eyes went back to Wanda's. "She's never been this way about anyone else. I'm sure you know that."
Wanda nodded lightly. "We've talked." Laura nodded as well. "Clint and I are the closest thing she's got to a real family anymore. So I'm obliged to say this, Wanda." She smiles at the younger woman. "Before having kids, I was also in a branch of the military, so If anything happens to Natasha's heart, you won't be dealing with Clint."
Wanda stared directly into Laura's eyes. She had never been threatened like this before, but she nodded weakly. "I-I understand. But trust me..." She swallowed heavily. "I have no intention of hurting her. I care for her too much. She's my girlfriend. I-" Wanda stopped herself, but Laura could see how she had fallen.
"I know. But like I told you, it's an obligation." Laura then smiled and helped Wanda with the remainder of breakfast as if nothing had changed.
As Wanda sat at the dining room table next to Natasha she grabbed her girlfriend's hand and held it. Natasha squeezed it back with a smile before they got caught up talking to the kids about the plans for today.
First on the agenda was Lila giving Wanda some pigtails.
Hours later Natasha can't help but think that this is the hardest she's ever smiled.
The redhead knew she was in love and that she wasn't as scared about the future with Wanda as she had been in previous days.
Also military a/b/o with Max moving to a new base with Lewis as Lewis is in idk the navy or smthn and they recently got mated so it will be their firdt time living together (although Lewis will be away a lot)

Can I pls request a really fluffy emotional and suggestive scenario after jimin coming back from military enlistment 🥺💖
This Love is Ours
synopsis; in which your boyfriend finally comes home.
pairing; military!jimin x girlfriend!reader
genre; angst, fluff, humor, smut, established relationship, military au
warnings; Jimin in a UNIFORM is a warning in itself yall!!! due to being in the army, it is unfortunate reality that you’re bound to get injured in some form (whether that be mentally or physically) and so has our jiminie 😢 (nothing serious or graphic dw) which causes slight angst and emotional moments between him and reader, otherwise they’re just two people in love catching up on time lost OH and uh sex, there will be sex(x2) ok that’s all
rating; 21+ MINORS DNI
w/c; 4,230
a/n; this is such a sweet request, I’m almost tempted to make it a scenario with all the members at some point in different variations cause I’m still in my feels about Jin like I’m sure some of you out there are as well. this is also a scenario I personally relate to so this hits so much closer to home. truly, I hope you enjoy and ty again for the request!
You scan the flood of people exiting customs, looking for the familiar face of your boyfriend. All around you are people greeting their loved ones, joyous at the opportunity to hug and kiss after time apart. You would feel lonely in this crowd, if not for the knowledge that you’d be doing the same thing with Jimin soon enough.
Then, at long last, you spot him.
And given the huge grin on his face, it looks like he’s seen you too.
You can’t hold yourself back – you run towards Jimin, forcing him to drop his bag as you throw yourself into his arms. You think you notice him wince, but all too soon he’s squeezing you back.
The impact of your bodies colliding had taken both of you off guard, unused to the feeling after so long apart, but it seems you’re both eager to relearn your bodies’ personal intricacies.
Still wrapped in each other’s arms, you lift your face, inviting him to meet you in the middle. Jimin’s face softens, and he closes the short distance between you to claim your lips as his own.
If you’d been worried about losing your connection to Jimin while he was away, this is all the reassurance you need. If feels like a once loose thread has been pulled taught between the two of you, connecting and tethering you together at this exact moment in time – and saving that, the warm, strong arms of Jimin are there to keep you steady. After a long, blissful moment, you pull away, though your foreheads still stay touching.
“I have to say, that was the perfect welcome home, y/n.”
His eyes are showing nothing but love and adoration for you, his words melting your heart.
“We’re only getting started, my love.”
Jimin raises an eyebrow, smirking at the implication. Fully detaching from you, he takes a moment to properly look at you. You enjoy the curves of his smile and the affection shining in his eyes.
“You look….adorable.”
“This old thing?” You wave your hand over your outfit nonchalantly. “I just threw it on.”
That was a lie. Yes, you didn’t quite want to overdress for an airport pickup, but at the same time you didn’t want to look as if you just rolled out of bed to come here. And thus, your outfit of choice, tried and true – black leggings with an oversized hoodie, BUT not just any hoodie, it’s your favorite. Why, you ask? Cause it’s actually Jimin’s. And it’s one of the first clothing items you casually ‘stole’ from him during the period of your relationship.
Not that he minded. Regardless, you still do a little twirl to show off your outfit. His sweet smile is praise enough.
“You are by far, the cutest chaperone in this whole airport.”
You roll your eyes playfully, but can’t help the smile that immediately splits across your face.
“You’re biased.”
He raises a finger to boop you on the nose.
“But right.” He dramatically winks.
Now it’s your turn to scan his outfit, and it takes everything you have not to openly drool at the sight of him in his uniform. You’d be lying if you said that it wasn’t a turn on for you. When your eyes get fixated on his adorning medals along his breast, your thoughts moving to rather unholy ones, he has to bend down to initiate eye contact with you to get your full attention again. The cheeky grin on his face let’s you know that he’s more than aware where your mind drifted off too.
“Careful, darling. Or I may just have to take you into the bathroom and have my way with you.”
His voice is teasing, but his dilated pupils let you know that if you’re not careful, he’ll do just that. Then, Jimin hoists his bag back over his shoulder and offers you his hand. You slide your small one into his with ease, fingers interlocking.
Jimin gives your hand a quick squeeze, appreciating even this minor contact, and you can’t help but feel hyper aware of the warm toughness of his palm against yours.
You begin walking with Jimin to the parking lot, nearly unable to tear your eyes away from him – as if you still can’t believe he’s really here. He notices you staring at him, and grins.
“Thanks again for picking me up.”
“Anytime, baby.”
“I gotta be honest, I probably could’ve made my own way back but….I really wanted to see you, as soon as I could.”
“I’m happy you did, cause honestly I’m so glad you’re back.”
“Me too.” His thumb traces over the back of your hand as you walk. “And I want to spend every second I can with you.”
“Careful, I might take you up on that.”
“Perfect, I was counting on it.” He hesitates with what he says next. “Apart from my PT I should be pretty free at least. Though I am supposed to be spending this time recuperating, I have some other ideas too.”
He winks at you and you feel a thrill run through you. With him so close at last, it feels like everything he does is that much more electric to you.
Your eyes scan the many passerbys on their way to their gates and those who are trying to make their way out, like you and Jimin. For it being so late at night, you didn’t expect the airport to still be as busy as it is. Another pulse of excitement runs through you as you say your next words, the strangers that walk pass you none the wiser to your rather risqué conversation.
“Maybe I should be your nurse…” You smile at him, already anticipating the potential for role play. “I want to make sure you’re still being a very good patient after all.”
“With you as my nurse, my heart rate would never be stable!”
“We’ll have to put you on bed rest.”
He gives you a dark look, one full of promises.
“Only way I’m going on bed rest is if you’re in it with me.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
His dark demeanor diminishes for a moment as he suddenly becomes sincere.
“Honestly, I totally love the idea of you being my nurse, but I’m gonna be fine on my own too.” You bite your lip to prevent the frown that wants to appear. You know he’s right, but you’re just worried about him. “I’m kinda itching to do things again after being stuck in bed for so long.”
“That makes sense.”
Talking with Jimin again has been so exhilarating that before you know it, you’ve reached the parking lot. You help him load his bag in your trunk, and once the two of you have gotten seated in the front, does he turn to you.
“Ready to see my new place for the first time?”
Oh, right, you think. You forgot that before he left on deployment, he sold his old apartment in hopes of finding another – one that’s actually a lot closer to your own. You have yet to see it in person, only ever seeing it through pictures he sent you that were public view for the listing.
“Totally!”
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The ride to Jimin’s place is short and easy. On the way, you notice a few landmarks that you see yourself on the daily, which really does tell you exactly how close this new apartment is – practically within walking distance if you’re being honest. You love it. Before you know it, he’s grabbed his bag out of the trunk and is now leading you inside his new place by the hand.
Crossing the threshold, he shuts the door behind you, setting his duffel bag down in the entryway to stand side by side with you to survey it himself. The apartment came with all the amenities and fully furnished, leaving him with little to nothing to buy and for that he is grateful.
All that’s missing, he thinks, is the little touches of you. Back in his old apartment it varied room by room, but he came to love seeing a little bit of yourself in each room. Cause even when you’re not there, it always calmed him down, and uplifted his spirits when he saw them.
“Well, I guess this is you settled in!”
You’re not really excited about leaving him alone, but you figure it’s better to let him rest rather than keep him up all night.
His face becomes crestfallen when he realizes what you’re saying.
“You mean, you don’t want to stick around a bit longer?” He steps closer to you, both hands finding the junction between your hips and thighs. “Maybe…spend some more quality time together?” His smirk and innuendo-laden question is clear, he’s definitely interested in getting up to some trouble.
It’s only when you’re splaying your hands on his chest, one hand slowly sliding over the multiple medals, do you respond.
“You better get closer than, baby.” Much to your dismay, and pleasure, he doesn’t take you up on your offer right away. Rather, he leads you to the bedroom.
He sits on the edge of the bed before gently tugging you closer by the hands, indicating he wants you to sit on the bed beside him, which you do. A hand comes up to cradle the side of your neck, and uses it to bring your face closer to his. He looks deeply into your eyes, before finally closing the distance and kissing you.
Deciding you don’t like the current position, you have another one in mind. With quick movement you shift on top of Jimin, one leg on either side of his as you straddle his lap. He raises an eyebrow at you in both amusement and intrigue.
“Can’t have my patient overexerting himself, can I?”
Jimin chuckles before leaning up to kiss you again. Then, he focuses on appreciating each and every part of you – caressing your hips, your waist – stroking you as he kisses you with love in every touch.
Breathless from the pleasurable assault, you pull away from his kiss with a request, you and your body needing more.
“I want you to be rougher, baby.”
Jimin wastes no time in accommodating your request, responding by roughly pulling you against him as he grinds his hips against you, nibbling at your neck as his hands grab at your ass in a vice grip.
Bottoms seem to disappear in no time as the two of you succumb, lost in the tidal wave of sensations your movements elicit in your bodies. You dig your nails into the thick fabric of his uniform, not even caring when the sharp edges of his medals dig themselves into your palm, almost like a sense of defense the uniform is putting up against you itself in reply. The feeling of Jimin’s lips on you, his arms holding you – everything in this moment is the perfect celebration of your reunion.
You have no idea how long it’s been when Jimin pulls away with a rueful look, even as you whine at the loss of his warmth against your skin. His hand lightly comes up to brush a stray hair out of your face, tone guilty.
“I hate to say it, but we should probably stop here.” He kisses the pout that forms on your lips away and explains his reasoning. “I have a PT appointment early tomorrow morning, and I highly doubt I would get any sleep if you stuck around.”
You sigh loudly, throwing yourself back on the bed, but give him a sullen look of agreement.
“You’re right, I’d want to keep you up all night, soldier.”
You both sit up, pulling your bottoms back on and into place, enjoying a few more sweet and slightly more chaste kisses before you stand to go. Then he’s walking you back to the front door, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek in farewell.
“See you soon?”
“Definitely.”
When you turn down the hall to leave, he yells out one last request of his own that has you smiling at how caring he is.
“Text me when you get back home, please! Otherwise I won’t be able to sleep and it’ll be all your fault!” The last word becomes more sing songy, and you throw up two thumbs up in reply before he winks at you and shuts his door, leaving you alone in the hallway with your thoughts.
But as you go, you can’t tell if you’re more happy to have Jimin home – or more worried about if he’s going to be okay. Something at the back of your mind is telling you that you still don’t have all the information on how he’s really doing.

The Next Day
Jimin opens the door with a huge grin on his face, excited to see you. You smile back, unable to do much more given the bags full of food weighing down your arms.
As soon as he notices the grocery bags he grabs some of them from you, ushering you further inside and helping you unpack the bags on the counter.
“Want to help me cook?” You blow at a stray piece of hair that landed on your face from the exertment, Jimin wraps an arm around your shoulders and pulls you into him, kissing the top of your head before replying enthusiastically.
“Of course I do! What are we making?”
You told your head up to look him in the eyes.
“Do you know how to make carbonara?”
“No, but that would be delicious.”
The two of you set to making dinner, with Jimin prepping ingredients as you start getting the oven ready. The space is close, but each movement both of you make seems to become a dance – Jimin elegantly moving to the side when you reach for a drawer, you bending down when he reaches for a shelf, every step making it seem like you had always been working in tandem in this kitchen.
Then, after prepping everything, you and Jimin set to cooking – or, you try to focus on cooking, but instead end up flirting with each other while barely keeping the meal from burning.
When Jimin surprises you again with a kiss, you can’t hold back any longer. Returning the kiss, you turn completely towards him, hugging him around the waist. And you’re sure you could’ve stayed like that for ages except—
“Oh shit, is that burning?”
Your eyes widen as you let out a small gasp.
Yep. Dinner is now going to be served lightly charred, but you can’t find it in yourself to be upset at Jimin at all. You probably would’ve tried the same thing if he’d been cooking for you!
“I don’t know what it is about you, y/n, but I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of you.”
“Well, that’s good.” You start playfully. “Since I don’t know if I can say the same about this dinner.” You end with a joke to lighten the mood and Jimin laughs exuberantly, grinning cheekily.
“I’m sure it’s still going to be amazing, after all you were the one to make it.”
You coo at him lovingly, making kissy faces that have him rolling his eyes at you as he fake grimaces. You just laugh.
The two of you bring your food to the living room to eat, more comfortable on the couch than in straight-backed chairs more suited to formal dining. Luckily, dinner came out just fine, though of course both of you are more focused on each other than the subtle flavors of the meal.
He clears his throat.
“So, tell me everything. What have I missed since I got deployed?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like, what have you been up to? Anything you didn’t get to tell me over text?” He pushes his food around with his fork, eyes somewhat sad. “I don’t like thinking I’m missing out on your life.”
“Well–,” you mimick his action of now pushing your own food around your plate with a fork, ultimately deciding to take another bite before responding. “I’ve been looking at possible vacation spots.”
His mood perks up at the new topic, eyes wide with intrigue.
“Oh, really? Like where?”
“Somewhere with a lot of history and culture, yet plenty of ways to relax with downtime. You know? Somewhere adventurous, yet full of untapped knowledge.”
He nods in agreement, taking another bite of food himself.
“It’s always so interesting to visit places like that. Make sure to look at hotel rooms for two, okay?”
He’s casual as he says it, and your heart becomes full of warmth at the thought of both of you going on a vacation together. It’s been so long, and long overdue. You couldn’t wait.
You give Jimin a quick kiss on the cheek before taking a moment to think of how to continue the conversation. It’s not as though you’re at a loss of words…moreso you’re not sure if you want to broach the topic of what he was up to on deployment and how or where exactly he got injured.
He’s refused to tell you, always quick witted with changing the topic before you press for more. Sighing inwardly, you choose not to ask.
He’ll tell you when he’s ready, right?
“What are you most excited for now that you’re home?”
“Spending all the time I can with you of course!”
You shake your head lovingly at him, smile on your lips.
“That’s what you’ve been saying since you got back!”
“But it’s true!” He throws his arms up in the air, before leaning back against the couch. His focus is on you, and he’s smiling softly. “How else am I supposed to feel, especially when I have you sitting right in front of me, completely and utterly gorgeous?”
You shrug indifferently.
“Okay. Maybe I see your point.”
You give him a wink and he exaggeratedly reacts to catch it, making you smile wider.
By now, you’ve both finished with dinner, and after clearing away the plates Jimin leans in to kiss you, leading you back towards the couch before lying down on it and pulling you on top of him. But where this move might’ve been the perfect opener in the past, when you land on top of Jimin this time his face freezes and he shouts out with pain.
“Shit–Damnit–“
You immediately get up off of him, caught off-guard and worried. For the first time since you met Jimin, heck, even started dating all those years ago, it feels like you could actually hurt him – and you don’t know what to do.
Your bottom lip trembles, eyes beginning to water with unshed tears. Jimin notices, and schools his face after a moment, both hands coming to reach back out for you.
His voice is soft and gentle, no hint of malice towards you at all.
“Hey, baby, it’s okay. I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” You have to clear your throat with how watery your reply sounds, and it breaks Jimin’s heart to see you broken over him.
“Completely.”
Despite your hesitancy, Jimin sounds confident – and he even cocks an eyebrow at you before continuing.
“In fact….why don’t we bring this to the bedroom?” He sits up, face perfectly aligned with your stomach which he kisses, hands coming to knead the outside of your thighs. “Really rediscover each other’s bodies?”
The sensual, gravelly tone of his voice sends pleasurable shivers through you, but you can’t help but take a moment to think about if you think he should be doing this right now….though he should know his own body well enough that it would be okay.
“If you’re absolutely sure, Jimin…then that’s what I want too.”
He wastes no time in leading you to the bedroom.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Once inside, he shuts the door behind you and pushes you against it, careful to pillow your head with his hand before it can hit the hardwood behind it. He leans in, kissing you fully, deeply, and with a renewed fervor that nearly overwhelms you.
You can’t stand the clothing keeping his hands from your skin, and with just a moment’s break between your lips and his, your shirt is off. Not one to be upstaged, he strips down to his briefs, eager to continue.
You have to stifle a gasp at finally seeing him like this, shirt off and all, bandaged so heavily still after his recuperation overseas – you didn’t know. Sure, he told you that he got pretty banged up during a mission, but you never would have imagined it was to this amount. Luckily, it seems like Jimin either didn’t notice your surprise, or was expecting it, as he smiles gently at you, waiting for you to make the next move.
Not wanting to linger on something that Jimin isn’t ready to fully divulge you on, you decide to focus yourself back on the task at hand – him. And right now, he’s patiently waiting for you to make a decision. However, he never expected you to say what you did next.
“I want you to take me on the rug.”
His eyes flicker to the large, thick, plush, extremely soft material of the rug that lays a few steps away from you two, right at the foot of the bed.
He blinks, looking back up at you. And then a devilish smile spreads across his face. He takes a few steps towards it before kneeling down to settle himself on the rug, ditching his briefs during the descent and leaving more than enough space for you to join him. You follow his lead, and as soon as you lie next to him he renews kissing your chest, your neck, and then reclaims your lips with his.
“Wait–,” he pauses, confused and mildly worried he did something wrong. You quickly explain yourself. Pointing at your pants. “I’m still wearing my bottoms!”
“Oh.” He let’s out a small laugh of relief. “Let me help you with that then.”
Jimin backs off enough to allow you to slide off your bottoms before eagerly grabbing at you again, kissing you with a vigor and grinding his hips against you. You let out a shaky gasp at the contact, already aching for more.
Jimin reaches his hand between you to join the two of you. It feels like you’ve been made whole, a moan escaping your lips before he covers your mouth again with his, trying to communicate through his actions how much he missed you, how much he loves you.
With each thrust you’re further lost to the pleasure, fully succumbing to the strength of Jimin’s arms around you, his lips setting you on fire everywhere they touch, and the incredible feeling of him moving against you.
Soon, you feel yourself reaching a peak, and somehow you and Jimin are in tune enough that when he begins to shudder, biting at your shoulder in ecstasy, you join him following close behind, moaning loudly.
The two of you lay there for a moment, basking in the afterglow, before you regretfully have to get dressed again to head home. Jimin dresses as well before walking you back to the living room to say goodbye.
Even as you linger next to the front door, you can tell he wants to say something, but is nervous too. You tilt your head at him, soft smile on your face of encouragement.
“We should book it.”
Your smile is still there, but he can tell by your facial expression that you have no idea what he’s talking about, he laughs nervously. You’ve been dating for years now, it should be easy to talk with you, but with the forced time apart of him joining the army and what he’s been through personally – it’s just not as simple anymore.
But it’ll get better, he will get better, and in turn so will you as a couple.
He’s sure of it. And with his next statement, he’s hoping to solidify that sentiment.
“That vacation. We’ll look at places tomorrow. I don’t want to waste anymore time, or lose out on precious memories that can be made with you. So, what do you think?”
Your smile turns into an ‘o’ shape, eyes widening when you come to the realization of what he’s asking and talking about. Before he has time to think, you’re cautiously throwing yourself at him, just enough to wrap your arms around his neck and pull him into a breathtaking kiss, one in which he reciprocates with just as much emotion, chuckling into the kiss.
When you both pull away, he asks you another question.
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes! Of course! I can’t wait!”
His eyes soften as he scans every inch of your face, voice just as tender.
“I feel so lucky to have you.”
“I’m the lucky one, Jimin. And I’m so happy to have you home.” A comfortable silence looms over your still figures, until you break it with a timid smile.
“Talk to you soon?”
“You couldn’t stop me!” He grins cutely.
He gives you another sweet, tender kiss before you head out the door, making you miss him already. You can’t wait for more nights like this with him.
