I've been super busy yet not getting much done the past few days. Crazy how that happens. You know the feeling, right? Hopefully I can regain control of my agenda later this week. In any case, the running has been a bit spotty but I'm getting back in the groove. I had a good workout in steamy heat yesterday, even while having to step over bags and gear that summer lacrosse campers had strewn all over the track (um, coach???). After a 2400 warmup and dynamic warmups and drills, I did 8x200 trying to keep them around 45 seconds. According to my Garmin I was between 44-47 but the Strava data showed me going faster, well below 6:00 pace. And I know they felt faster than 5k pace. After the 200s and a quick bathroom break it was over to the bleachers. At this stadium, those go 57 steps from bottom to top. After 8 sets, my legs were wobbling! I finished up with a mile "cool down" in 90° temps. Tonight is one of my coaching nights at Life Time, so I'll be there taking the team through an easy 4-5 miles. That should set me up for tomorrow night's club 5k race. This will be an opportunity to see how far my fitness has progressed since the last 5k in May. I'm thinking that I'm probably not in sub-20 form yet. But a 20-something time should be in reach. I would definitely take that right now.
