This is just one version of this conversation that MC has with Luisa about this (and there will be Asexual versions as well). “Coming out as Aromantic was one of the hardest things I’ve ever to do.”

Luisa tilts her head in a silent question and you sigh, thinking how best to explain this. Then again, if anyone could understand, it would be Luisa.

“As many people do, I struggled for a long time with my sexuality. When I was younger, I was adamant I was straight, and then I hit my late teens and realised that I was just as attracted to people of the same gender as to those of different genders,” you say. “So, I figured ‘okay, I’m Bi, or maybe even Pan’, but honestly that didn’t feel right either. I thought people were good looking, but I never felt any inclination to actually date them, even when all my friends started getting into relationships.

It wasn’t until my early twenties that I came to the startling realisation that I was Aromantic, it’s also when I realised that I didn’t actually know much about it because no one ever seemed to talk about it,” you clench your fists in your lap. “I made the mistake of trying to learn more about it on social media platforms first, and was left feeling exhausted and numb. My sexuality was apparently nothing more than a joke, it didn’t exist, I was just frigid or hadn’t found the right person. People didn’t want Aromantics, or Asexuals, to be included in the LGBTQ+ label because it was supposedly a disservice to the community. Because even to people who were supposed to be apart of something beautiful and supportive hated us.”

You can feel your throat clogging, and cough trying to clear it, “It’s just,” you try for a smile, but by the look on Luisa’s face, you don’t succeed. “When the whole world is telling you that you shouldn’t exist, that you don’t belong…it’s hard not to feel like you’re broken.”

“You’re not broken, [name],” Luisa said, the tone of her voice leaving no room for arguments. “You and everyone else who identifies as Aromantic or Asexual are some of the strongest and bravest people that I have ever known.”

She places a hand on your shoulder and gently squeezes, “people can say what they like, but we exist, and we deserve to exist and be respected. Anyone who says otherwise, doesn’t deserve to have you in their life, and I assure you, that would truly be their loss.”

hii I noticed you write for aro!mcs which is really nice!! would u be interested in writing a comfort fic (with any characters) for an aro!mc who becomes friends with a demon in their class, and they're very happy with their friendship until the demon confesses their crush on mc, and after mc turns them down gently, it's like their friendship never existed and mc is upset about it. I've found this to be a pretty common occurrence, esp as someone on the aro spectrum :( have a nice day!

Asmodeus is the one who finds out first. He can easily tell you’re upset and notices how your new demonic friend seems to run away from the sight of you.

He is also the one to most relate to you. Many people ask him out daily and assume he is obligated to give them a chance or hear them out even if he doesn’t know their name.

He comforts you in a way that would comfort him most. He tells you they probably weren’t a real friend anyways if they reacted that way to you rejecting them. You will always have him and his brothers as true friends.

When Mammon hears about it, he’s slightly angry. Because why is there a demon going around saying you embarrassed them in front of everyone heartlessly? He knows it can’t be true, but he can’t fight back properly without knowing exactly what happened.

He goes up to you, asking why this demon is talking shit about you and if you want him to deal with it or if you just want to deal with it on your own.

When he finds out the real reason, he’s slightly embarrassed. He thinks of how many times he’s asked you out because he didn’t understand your orientation at first. But, don’t worry, he gets it now.

Leviathan just tries to mainly distract you. He has no idea how to comfort you in this situation but tells you the demon overreacted anyways.

He suggests a movie. Mammon takes over from there. Family movie night is a go.

“It’s an action movie, action doesn’t have romance,” Mammon says confidently, sliding the movie disc in. Asmodeus seems unsure but cuddles up into your side regardless.

And then it happens. Romance. Mammon is dumbfounded, shocked, and fearful. Levi looks unimpressed.

“Straight people,” Asmo says weakly, slumped into your shoulder. He looks ill from the sight of a hetero romance on screen.

“I would rather die a thousand times then not experience love,” the man says, even after being slapped by the woman five times. You’re surprised how often that slides in movies.

There is a pause. And then suddenly Mammon and Levi scream and fumble for the remote, fighting each other to turn off the TV. “Turn it off, turn it off!” Levi shrieks before he’s shoved off the couch with a Mammon falling on top of him.

Beelzebub successfully turns off the TV, confused by all of his brothers’ reactions. Lucifer is angry. “What is going on?”

“Nothing!” Asmo chimes, playing innocent. “We just decided we didn’t like the movie anymore!”

While they can all be a bunch of helpless idiots, they do their best to keep you happy. And you’re happy with that. Who needs a friend who ignores you because you don’t want to date them?

Rep: Apache Aro/Ace main character

If you enjoyed Scooby-Do a lot, this might be the book for you. It’s very Scooby-Do-esque and longtime fans might find this enjoyable.

Even though this wasn’t my favorite book, I still think that the story the author created was unique and shows quite a bit of imagination, which makes me want to at least attempt to read other books by this author especially as their writing career progresses.

the secret about love

I've always wanted to write about my interpretation of the relationship Barbatos might have with (my) MC, with the headcanon in mind that he is romance repulsed (and I am not interested in him)! MC is gender neutral in this one (because I use they/them pronouns) but of course it was written with me in mind.

"You asked if there is someone I adore," they say. They don't look at him as gravity plucks the word from their lips, one after another. Barbatos isn't looking at them either but he can't help but see. When he closes his eyes, their figure is burned into his eyelids, the same way his other loved ones are.

"I did," Barbatos says. They shift on their feet and finally pull him in. It's not the first time he notices that they can catch his attention effortlessly. It's more of an effort to look away. It's impossible to look away.

"And I know you assumed that it's Diavolo- Lord Diavolo," they correct themselves when his face falls a little. "Or perhaps even Lucifer. Lord knows Lucifer wishes it were him."

"But?" Barbatos asks. It's less of a question than a breath of air.

"I don't."

He has to remind himself that he needs to breathe.

"It's me, isn't it," he whispers.

Here's the secret about love: Barbatos doesn't understand it. Worst of all, he feels disgusted by the thought. He can look at other couples and understand (intellectually) that they feel something he doesn't.

But romantic love? That's a feeling he will never understand nor feel.

Barbatos loves deeply and with an amount of loyalty that feels overwhelming at times. But all of that is strictly platonic.

He's commit multiple murders and suicide to protect Lord Diavolo. It's something he has come to terms with. He'd set the Celestial Realm on fire to protect Luke. He'd punch Raphael in the face and suffer the consequences if Lucifer or one of his brothers asked him to.

"I'm not in love with you," the human says with enough gentleness to it to knock the air from his lungs yet again.

Barbatos stares at them. "But..." he says. "You said..."

"How could I ask this of you?" they ask. "How could I ask this of myself?"

For once, Barbatos has no idea what to reply. He has to say something. Anything.

"What do you suggest we do now?"

They smile. "Do we have to change anything? We might as well continue things the way they are now."

"We go on dates..." he starts. "Platonically?"

They shrug. "Do you call it a date when you're out with Diavolo?"

"Sometimes," he admits. Jokingly. It gives him the illusion of a kind of domesticity he will never experience otherwise. Diavolo is helplessly in love with Lucifer, he will always be. He doesn't love Barbatos, not like that. Whenever they're out, whenever they share a meal or a bed, they do it with the knowledge in mind that this relationship is defined by the boundaries of their own comfort.

"Then we'll call it a date as well," they say. "If you want."

Barbatos looks at them. He wants that, he decides.
