UPDATED: Paul was a very good artist

I'd dare to say that he, rather than John, would have been a better art school student. John seemed really interested in doodles and caricatures (nothing wrong with that) but I've always been struck by Paul's actual paintings and pastels. I think this youthful self portrait done at the Inny was really good, even though (since he'd have looked in the mirror to do it, his left is right and right is left. Interesting that the "left" side (properly) shows a lighter eye than the right and sag to the cheek.

So when I saw this pic of the Beatles painting while stuck in their hotel rooms in Japan in 1966, it was interesting to see how he'd grown as an artist. Much more modernist.

Again his subject has an emphasized left eye. The whole left side of the face is...ripped open? Haunting and disturbing to say the least.

Of course, I'm sure all the Beatles felt ripped open and consumed by 1966. And I'm sure they processed it all in many different ways. I wonder where that painting is, now... or what he titled it. Rotated:

The second drawing kind of reminds me of the Japan piece:

Im playing after 2 weeks deltarune again and OHHH IM SO BAAAAAD (´д｀|||).

Like i dont want to play tenna's games i just keep losing and losing on the restaurant one like hell no...

So... can i have a tenna x reader?, like reader is so so so sad that keeps failing and failing the minigames and stuffs and just- run away from the scenary crying from incompetence of being really really bad (+ stage fright) ? I need a bit of angst lmao

Tenna X GN!Reader Hurt/Comfort (I hope)

In which you run out on your obligations

Tenna's feet pounded against the floor as he ran down the backstage hallways of his stupid, oversized, horribly echo studio. He turned a corner, a little sharp, just barely turning in to to stop himself from slamming into the wall, before continuing his long strides in his new direction.

Mere moments ago he was in his element, unbothered and thriving on stage, twirling his mic in one hand as he started his show with a point to camera, and an artificial round of applause from production.

Next to him was you, his lone contestant, he only needed one for the segment and it was you! He was overjoyed!

The game was a simple balancing act. He'd seen a waiter on a sitcom carrying 5 plates in one hand and 6 drinks in the other just the other day and thought that'd make a perfect physical challenge for a segment! It took a lot of work, but they'd finally got the set finalized the other day, and now it was time for a test recording.

A hand came to his screen as he thought about how thankful he was this was one of the rare instances of an episode of TV Time being taped in advanced, instead of premiered live. Not that that was any better at the moment.

You'd started off so strong, balancing plates of totally normal things people eat, like dog food and bags of milk, going from table to table to gather more, and doing amazing!

Then you suddenly looked off stage, off to staff at... something. Then there was a loud crash, and Mike was calling for a cut.

While the crew cleaned up the mess and reset the stage, Tenna pulled you away, got you some water, and explained it was fine to drop stuff, that's part of this challenge! but sense this was a test, we're gonna keep playing till you can make it to the end of the timer, okay? And you were doing so well! It won't take long!

Tenna was positive his little pep talked helped... But then when he called for Action, you just stood there. Frozen. Staring at a camera and... shaking?

After another cut and another pep talk you go back to the game, at least, but... You were still shaking. It didn't take long for you to drop something, and Mike to call for another cut.

Over and over, Tenna would call action, you'd get a few plates, and then with a loud crash Mike would call for a Cut. On and on the cycle repeated itself, until the recording crossed into overtime, and Tenna was slouched so deeply in his director's chair his feet touched the ground.

Mike considered calling it there and just splicing together the best parts of all the tapings they'd done to fake a win, but Tenna REFUSED the thought! He knew you could do it!

And just as he was saying that, a Pippin patted him on the calf to get his attention.

You were gone.

They'd given a vague direction that you'd taken off in, and so that's where Tenna was now, running aimlessly through his own backstage, asking anyone he passed if they'd seen you coming this direction.

He was lucky, and a few Shadowguys had seen you wind your way back around to the green room. Tenna strode into the small room, hunching a bit to fit before his mind could catch up with the rest of him and shrink himself to a reasonable size, his antenna just barely not touching the ceiling.

The room was empty, beside the barkeep, Ramb.

"Ramb," Tenna gave a few more glances around the room as he walked to the bar, sitting himself down in front of it, "have you seen today's lucky contestant?"

Ramb gave a smile that was half a grimace, he placed a glass he was uselessly cleaning down and silently pointed behind the bar before shrugging, "Can't say I have."

Tenna took the hint, though not before a very long processing time. He braced his hands on the bar, just barely fitting his large head inside, and peered down.

On the floor, curled up into a ball with a glass of water, was You, his star contestant.

Tenna opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. He drummed his fingers before pulling himself out of Ramb's space, letting out a dramatic sigh, "I see... Such a shame, and they were doing so amazing at that physical challenge!"

"I was not," You said in half a hiccup. Tenna leaned over the bar again, you looked up at him, tears running down your face, before pulling yourself up with a sniffle. Ramb took this opportunity to head out the back way to give you two space.

"Well I think you were! You just needed a few more tries!" Tenna smiled, you shook your head.

"I was awful! I dropped everything, I couldn't stop shaking, I-!" You gripped onto yourself, "I ruined everything..."

Tenna flinched and instinctively reached out, grabbing your shoulders, "No, starshine, you didn't ruin anything! I- It's my fault! I made the game too hard! Oh, please don't cry..."

Tenna fished a hankie out of his jacket pocket, wiping your face gently with one hand, still holding one of your arms with the other.

"I'll fix this. We can fix this, it's okay," He attempted to reassure you, as well as himself, as he rubbed (hopefully) soothing circles on your arm.

You sniffled, taking his hankie and dabbing your eyes. His now free hand found itself on the counter, anxiously drumming away.

"I don't think.. I'm made for the spotlight..." You smiled weakly, Tenna's heart sank at such an expression. He gripped you a little tighter.

"Okay... Th-That's okay! We'll find something backstage for you!" Tenna's drumming hand took your own, holding it securely, "Mike can fill in for you for the challenge, no problem-o! A-And you can fill in for Mike while he's playing! Okay??"

Looking at Tenna's anxious face, scared to death you'd choose to leave, desperate to find something ELSE for you to do... It made you smile. You nodded with a giggle, "I don't think I can replace Mike, even just for a day."

Tenna immediately lit up, letting you go and standing so fast he nearly hit his head on the ceiling (when had he grown back to full size??), "You won't know until you try! And if you can't! We'll find someone else's job for you to take! Perhaps you could be the Bartender, we could use one of those!"

You laughed at, what you assumed was, a joke at poor Ramb's expense, and climbed out of the bar, following Tenna back to the stage as he continued to list employees he was CERTAIN you could replace with EASE.

You figured, despite being camera shy, working at Tenna's Studio might not be so bad. So what if you couldn't be in the spotlight? There was plenty of work behind the scenes. And from the sound of it, plenty of spots open.

Whumper and Whumpee are living together in a domestic whump situation. Whumpee can stand behind slapped and backhanded and thrown around if they disobey the rules - it's avoidable, they feel they deserved it.

But whenever Whumper comes home drunk and rapes Whumpee in bed or on the sofa, over the counter or even on the floor...that Whumpee can't stand. It's not predictable and sometimes it doesn't even hurt.

godddddd that's horrific. domestic whump is so compelling to me for so many reasons and the positioning of sexual violence as an escalated or out of the ordinary iteration of the abuse. it's all part of the same situation, from the same person, but that's different, special in a horrible way.

the physical abuse is a consequence of their actions so that's deserved, that's earned. but there's nothing they did, nothing they can find to blame it on. (nothing they can use to blame themself.) it can't be predicted, they can't be good enough to prevent it from happening.

and the wording implying it just happens wherever whumper encounters whumpee when they get home... the sudden surprise of it, the shock, the horror, the disorienting pain and fear. this is a person they live with, whatever their relationship, and all of a sudden this is happening and there's not even time to steel their nerve.

Dunno about what he rules around divorce are in Thedas but I do kind of love the idea of Hawke and their ex using the opportunity of the destruction of any chantry records and the dispersal/death of their entire community provided by Lothering's destruction and general blight chaos to just pretend they were never married. No one can prove it leave them alone. But also for them to be duel protagonists they also would still be hanging out and seeing a lot of each other even though they no longer see anyone else from their hometown. love that for them. Keeping it so normal at the Hanged Man
